Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the fun gameplay, witty dialogue, and humorous story in The Outer Worlds. Many also appreciate the game's open world and the opportunity for exploration. While some players noted minor technical issues and occasional long loading times, these concerns appear to be relatively infrequent. Overall, the positive feedback on the core gameplay mechanics and narrative outweighs the negative comments.

Enjoyed the game, doesn't have much replay value though. Got it on sale so was worth the money

Been wanting to play this game for a long while. It's fun and has a clever setting in which corporations essentially control day to day life and business.

Fun, immersive, fall-out style FPS with borderlands tongue-in-cheek humor. Very dialogue driven with fun stories and side quests.

Since Obsidian helped develop this title, you will find that it feels a lot like Fallout: New Vegas, which I think is a good thing. Instead of wondering an endless wasteland, you will be making a voyage between several planets. This is great, because you get to experience different people and atmosphere. The only negative to that is the planets are smaller and it’s not one giant sandbox. You will see load times when traveling between planets. Other than that small gripe, it’s an awesome game and I love playing with a DualShock 4, so I recommend it for PS4.

Outer Worlds wears its Fallout influence on its sleeve without ever being afraid to be its own thing. The combat isn't the most innovative, but it's still quite engaging. The art style is vibrant. But the main selling point for me is the writing. Having well-written dialogue choices (plus a good number of choices to boot) was a thing I didn't know I'd been missing before playing this game. Highly recommended for fans of shooters, good writing, and games that ooze personality and humor.

A really polished variation of Fallout...

Like many gamers, I was blown away by Fallout 3...the scope, the exploration, the dialog choices...it felt like a world you could get lost within. Since then, deep open world games have become commonplace, as have skill trees, in games beyond just role playing. So here we have a very solid game, a (comparatively) polished spiritual successor to Fallout. The problem is, the "wow" factor of such a game is gone. It is enjoyable, but it is not exciting or revolutionary.

After a while debating whether or not to buy The Outer Worlds, we got the chance to play it with a family member who had previously bought it. It was had a lot of cool missions and good action. The different places where you have to go also look good. Best Buy had it at a great price so we bought it and it has become one of our favorite games. I think it was very enjoyable and I totally recommend it to anyone who likes adventure games.

This is one amazing RPG. There are differences between Fallout and The Outer Worlds besides the setting, but if you're familiar with Fallout then this game should feel right at home for you. Heck, Obsidian has some of the original developers who worked on Fallout. Anyways, if you love RPGs and/or Fallout then this should be right up your alley. One of the best games of this year. Oh, and no bugs! Well maybe one or two but nothing game breaking. It just works :D

Lost in transit while on a colonist ship bound for the furthest edge of the galaxy, you awake decades later only to find yourself in the midst of a deep conspiracy threatening to destroy the Halcyon colony. As you explore the furthest reaches of space and encounter various factions, all vying for power, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds. In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.

I'm though my 2nd playthrough now on the hardest setting and I'm loving every moment of it! but when it's all said and done with it leaves me wanting more it's a but short for my rpg taste but still it's freaking awesome . I hope the sequel is bigger and badder but i have to say this is a big shocker from such a small studio compared to bethesda , can only see better things to come after seeing what they are capable of over at obsidian. 8.7 on my scoreboard .

I honestly loved this game. I ran through the storyline in the span of a week, and I don't really have much time during the week to play because I work. But, I couldn't put this game down. Here and there you could tell a few shortcuts were taken as far as depth of storyline/branching storylines because the development team is a bit smaller and the turnaround time to release was relatively short. That being said, I enjoyed the final product!
