I do not want to spoil the plot in my review and I'm not going to. Leonardo DiCaprio won an Academy Award for Best Actor for 2015 in his role for this film. This film is not quite like anything you have seen before and is a worthy addition to your library. I liked it so much I also own the UHD version of it as well.

Wow Wow Wow. This is one of the best movies available on 4k. I love how crisp and clean this movie looks on 4k. If you want to take advantage of watching this movie in the best display possible make sure it is on a 4k LED tv. You cannot go wrong. It’s cool that this came with Blue ray and digital copy.

The Revenant is a film that only comes around once in a decade! This film is packed with groundbreaking cinematography, superb acting, and enough action to keep you on the edge of your seat. This remarkable film embodies the essence of true art form and its everlasting place in cinema. A must see film! Also, kuddos to Leo for winning his Academy Award for a role he barely even spoke in! Perfection!

This movie is a whip between beautiful scenery and just brutal violence. The cinematography is amazing and the script and acting are top notch. The bear fight is epic and still cannot believe it was 100% CGI, it is cringe worthy and you feel it.....then you get the revenge story for the rest of the movie. They definitely suffered for their art with the cold and setting used. A must watch for sure.

I love movies, i pay close attention to how the movie is shot and how it is written and take great pride in critiquing the acting. This movie might not be great for people who can not sit and watch a movie for an extended period of time and just appreciate it for the story that it is telling. This movie was an amazing story told in an amazing way and if you love movies then you cant miss this one.

Seriously good movie. The runtime is a bit long, but the beautiful cinematography, phenomenal acting by DiCaprio and Hardy, and emotional story make up for its lengthy duration. This is a great movie to watch under blankets, really makes you appreciate warmth.

Stunning movie, brave performances by Leo and Tom Hardy. The movie is almost relentlessly dark and shot in alost relentlessly stark, harsh, yet beautiful locations. In that genre, it's the very best. As I've posted about 4KUHD movies, don't expect to get a "wow" over blu-ray. It's good, but if you're caught up in the movie, itmakes very little difference in viewing quality.

This movie is great, don't get me wrong, but upon repeated viewings it's actually quite slow and most of the movie is spent with Leonardo DiCaprio staring off into the beautiful scenery. That said, the acting is superb, and definitely an Oscar-worthy film. Tom Hardy is always intriguing, and he knocks it out of the park in this film, making you empathetic to a very unlikable character.

When I first saw this in the theater it immediately went on my must have list. Director Inarittu's style pulls you into the story as if you were there and DiCaprio's performance is on point! The Blu Ray is stunning on my 120" projection home theater including the DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 mix (unfortunately not Dolby Atmos as released in the theater). Do not miss adding this to your collection.

It is clear, almost from the start, why this film received so much attention during awards season -- this is a tough film to watch but worth the effort. Although the story itself is relatively simple, the artistry with which it is told is any thing but simple. It is both rich and deep with many truly breathtaking images. So too the performance, particularly those by DiCaprio and Hardy. (Oh, and by the Bear too.) Video and audio quality on this Blu-ray are excellent. This may not be a film you pull off the shelf and watch regularly, however it is worth watching and an excellent addition to any video collection.

This is a remake of a 1970's movie "Man in the Wilderness" starring Richard Harris. The true story of Zach Bass, who was mauled by a bear and left for dead during the early fur-trapping days. This new version is gritty, and one feels the atmosphere of being in the wild country before modern civilization. Self reliance and determination were virtues of daily existence. Well Done!

The Revenant is honestly the best 4K movie out right now! It doesn’t get any better than this! The director solely shot all the footage outdoors and around dusk and dawn and has captured one of the most luxuriously vivid films. It’s rich in vibrancy and tone. The Film jumps off your tv in 4K resolution. If there were one movie you could own on 4K, this would be it!

This film i swear, is so amazing, from yhe opening to the very end of it complete beautiful brutality. Tom hardy is one incrediable human being, that his acting is just getting stronger & stronger. Leonardo dicaprio has given another great roll. From this to gangs of new york to shutter island to the departed. He just keeps getting more & more incrediable.

This movie will be a Cult Classic in years to come! To my knowledge there has never been a movie of this content made to the high standard as this movie was made! The cast was phenomenal, the effects were outstanding and yes i am including the bear scene as there is no way to use a "live" bear! Great movie all around! Watch it and use your own judgement, this movie is not for everybody!

I'm not sure I would describe watching this movie as "a good time" but that doesn't mean it wasn't a good movie. It was a little hard to watch at times, but it was executed brilliantly and the story was exactly what it was trying to be; a survival story. If you're looking for something you walk away happy from, rent it first... but it really is a good movie. Nice job.

What a ride this film takes you on. The acting is first rate. The cinematography is breathtaking and it has a beautiful score. Then there's the CGI effects. While watching the "Bear Scene" you will be shaking your head as you realize the technical detail that went into making this. It's definitly one of the best films to come out of Hollywood in a long time.

Now this is a 4K Blu-Ray this is the actual disk that will sell 4K TV's and sell 4K as a form at all by itself As for the movie itself this is going to be a classic the acting the special effects the overall movie itself is absolutely fantastic the picture and sound on this disk is something to behold this is what 4K was really meant to be Highly recommended

The Revenant in 4K UHD was a tremendous viewing experience. The video quality was superb. There is No Atmos but still a 5 Star audio presentation. However the main selling point to me was..... The will to live despite every obstacle that stood in the way just demonstrated the lasting power of the human spirit.

This is a visceral movie experience both for the movie in itself and the quality of picture if watching it on 4K with hdr. The movie has a great story that will keep you on the edge of your seat, truly entertaining from beginning to end. The quality of 4K with hdr is truly underpassed, if you have the a/v equipment to watch it in this format, it truly is the way to watch it.

I enjoy an epic style film from time to time (The Last Samurai, Braveheart, etc) and The Revenant ranks right up there in the top for me! It's definitely not a short movie, but I felt the cinematography and dialog was really well done and it draws you into the story right from the start. The disc itself is great, 1080p, DTS-HD 7.1 and a digital copy make this a great package.
