I thoroughly enjoyed this musical comedy from our friends down under. Already a huge fan of Irish actor Chris O'Dowd, I was predisposed to like this film. However, I was blown away by the acting of the four young aboriginal girls. This film went far and beyond the usual comedic plot of grouchy manager and bickering singers. There was real character development and back story which raised this film up in my opinion. I would definitely recommend this to any O'Dowd fans or anyone who enjoys films with motown music, war themes, or a peek into Australia's recent aboriginal history.

The Sapphires is a hit ! It's a perfect movie. Great script, great acting, great directing and humor. A film with a full range of emotional exploration but primarily FUN and fantastic performances by the women who portray the Sapphires and a tremendous supporting cast. Chris O'Dowd has become my new favorite leading man . Every film I've seen him in (even the bad ones like This is 40), Chris O'Dowd steals the scenes. This is a MUST OWN for any true movie collector.

this movie is great.the music is old Motown from my generation.the acting is wonderful .the girls are pretty and can sing very well.this story deals with racism in Australia as well a the idenity theft of white skinned children that used to go on there.i loved it

We have watched this movie when we could find it on TV. It is very well done and I am so glad to find it for purchase. I bought this for my husband for Christmas. I can hardly wait for him to open his present, so we can watch it again.
