The 4k movie is amazing the look and sound if you saw this movie in the 1990’s this will bring you back. The 4k details are top notch. It looks and sounds like it was made in 2022

I purchased this movie based upon everybody telling me how great it is. I admit the acting and story are great but in 2015 how can you even consider an entire movie to be great if it does not include Iron Man, Captain America or Thor with tons of CGI and explosions? A movie is great based upon story and acting alone? Without the appearance of any superheroes? Madness!

It does start a little slow, but builds over the course of the movie. The acting and narration are terrific and has one of the best soundtracks for any movie. The characters are allowed to develop and evolve throughout the film. I was completely absorbed by the story and acting. One of my all time favorite movies. Not many extras on the blu-ray, but the picture quality is excellent.

One of the greatest prison dramas ever put to celluloid. This is, in my opinion, the best looking catalog title to be released on 4K UHD. Fine textures, great use of HDR on exterior shots, and no digital cleanup. Perfect.

This movie is the perfect example for a depiction of what it's like to be incarcerated. I couldn't help but imagine how awful it might be for someone to be locked up for a life sentence. No matter the crime committed, we're all human beings at the end of the day and this film does a perfect job accurately portraying life inside of a cell. Spectacular!

There was no doubt I would be purchasing this movie as soon as I heard it was coming to 4K and it does not disappoint. I highly recommend this item for any fan of this movie... it has never looked or sounded better.

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. It catches me every time I see it on TV even mid-way through. But, on TV, there's always scenes and language edited out. So, I bought this full version classic while checking out at Best Buy. 5 bucks at the checkout line. Yes, please. Thank you very much. Includes extras and directors features.

Pleasantly surprised at how good the 4k picture quality was on this movie that was originally filmed in '94. I knew it would be an improvement but it looks like it was filmed last year. Classic movies of course, great purchase!

One of my favorite movies of all-time. The way adversity is overcome in this movie is inspiring and a cold hard truth about how some real world situations may have played out and put people in incorrect outcome.

This is such a great edition of this wonderful film. It's in beautiful crystal clear 4K. Great performances by Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman, Based on a Stephen King story, this is a classic film!

This is the rare perfect film. If you somehow missed it correct that now. One of Stephen King's best. The new disc is fantastic with excellent picture and sound.

A compelling story from start to finish. The acting and characters are great. One of the best movie of all time. A very enjoyable movie. It really looks great in 4K. An all time great.

Detail and color are outstanding on this 4K disc, much improved from the original blu-ray released several years ago. Steelbook looks better in person (matte finish, nice texture.) The movie itself remains a masterpiece!

Great deal on a great movie. Caught this and other movies for 9.99 apiece. The storyline of this movie is magnetic and I can watch this movie over and over again. Morgan Freeman and Tim Robins shine

The 4K and DTS-HD mastered version of this movie makes the movie look better and sound better than ever before. I have seen this movie over 30 times but really enjoyed watching it again in this new best format available.

Andy crawled to freedom through five hundred yards of shiz smelling foulness I can't even imagine, or maybe I just don't want to. Five hundred yards... that's the length of five football fields, just shy of half a mile.

A classic movie that deserves all the critical acclaim it gets. The acting and storyline is superb, but that doesn’t even compare to the score composed by Thomas Newman, which is one of my personal favorites.

I am and have always been a huge Stephen King fan. That being said most of the movie adaptations have been miserable. Shawshank is not only the exception but it is a masterful adaptation of the work of one of the nations best story tellers. If you have seen this see it again. If not it is a must see for everyone, Stephen King fan or not.

One of those rare movies that whenever it's on cable TV, it sucks you in like a black hole. I figured I'd buy the 4k and cancel cable so I can choose for myself when I'm going to ignore my responsibilities.
