I really like this movie so i bought it for Christmas

A great film, now finally available in 4K Ultra HD! While this film might not be among the top films that one would generally consider as a priority to get in 4K or consider making the upgrade to the Ultra HD format, it's still a nice transfer of a great cult classic film, now in higher resolution - with improved sound quality, sharper image - carrying over the special features available in blu-ray (that hadn't been previously released in the single disc standard DVD release). Highly happy with my purchase!

The film, an acknowledged classic, has never looked so good in the home. Actually, I suppose there's a chance it never looked so good theatrically! New 4K scan of the negative, light application of HDR, absolutely terrific presentation. Director of Photography Roger Deakins (probably one of the greatest DPs still living) was never happy with the early home video iterations and mentioned he'd love a crack at supervising a new transfer and color correction. Not sure if he was part of the effort but my guess is that he'd approve!

After all those years still a great movie, A must see

The Shawshank Redemption is one of those movies with great rewatch value, in my opinion. Every time you watch it, you come away from the experience uplifted and hopeful that, in the end, even the worse situations can work out to our benefit. Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins give two of the best performances of their careers. Excellent film!! Love the 4K transfer!! Definitely top 10 list!

What can you say about an academy award winning movie? It will be forever ingrained as a must see movie for all generations to come. Unforgettable performances from main two characters and best highlights Morgan Freemans many talents. It is amazing that his first widespread role was in another prison movie of Brubaker (which is another must watch movies). The 4K version best brings out the horrible conditions and reality iof prison life in this era. Do not miss this one.

An all time classic that I needed to own in 4k. Not much to say about this movie for those who have experienced it. One of the all time great films and in my opinion the best of Stephen kings books adapted into a film. Incredible Oscar notable performances from the leads Tim robbins and Morgan freeman. I have seen this movie dozens of times and it never gets tiresome or boring. I love it and will plan to enjoy it many more times for years to come.

This is a movie never to be missed in your lifetime. I never thought that Stephen King, being a master of thriller and horror movies, can also be a great story teller of human liberation. This is the #1 movie to me in my list of the greatest movies of all time. I have watched this movie almost a hundred times and my enthusiasm has never diminished. This is the best movie to watch when you’re in your darkest hour. A must-not-missed movie in your collection.

Easily an all-time favorite. Great themes/elements, hits on various emotions, and is wonderfully shot, acted, directed...you name it. Would have loved to have snagged one of the 4K Steelbooks, if the price had been lower, but tough to still beat the regular 4K Combo Pack for Black Friday. Great picture quality as part of this transfer, with most (if not all) of the special features available from previous releases. Highly recommend for all.

Not much to say about the movie. It's a masterpiece and holds the top spot of my favorite movie of all time. The story engrossing. The acting exemplary. The characters memorable. The ending...legendary. One of the few movies I will buy every time a new format comes out. And as such I want to say the 4K release is amazing. Wonderful picture that gives this classic a brand new coat of paint. Additionally I want to give Best Buy credit for the awesome Steel box.

It is one among the best movies ever made in World Cinema and applauded by many film critics. This film was directed by Frank Darabont who adopted the storyline from Stephen King's Novel - 'Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption'

This is one movie that I just can't stop watching when it come on TV, because it touches the Heart and Feelings of the Human Spirit not to give up Hope ! Just like Andy says, "This place (Shawshank) is where a person needs Hope the Most ! So I just had to buy it when I saw it at Best Buy in a Blu-ray version with a digital-copy ! Thank you Best Buy for providing for sale the re-release of this Classic and at a Great Price ! Hope is a Good thing, perhaps the Best thing in Life !

A great movie that looks great in 4K Dolby Vision. Also sounds great with Dolby Atmos. As this is a bit of a darker film where the HDR really shines is on specular highlights like the warden’s glasses or ring. The scenes after Red gets out of prison in rural Maine, and the Pacific look amazing in Dolby Vision.
