Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins both are excellent in this classic movie that never tires after multiple viewings. The 4K transfer is superb, and the sound is also.

Almost everyone’s favorite film. Not my favorite but I really liked it a lot. The performances and lessons it teaches you are great.

It would take me too long to write about all the wonderful things about this movie. Everyone should see this movie at some point in his/her life. I watch it every time I can catch it on amc, bravo or TNT. I'm going to stop right here. Go get this movie and watch (and enjoy) it for yourself.

Shawshank is a awesome movie . A true movie classic . This 4k transfer is impressive looks and sounds great. Kudos for warner brothers on releasing it in 4k.

This 4k transfer is a masterpiece. This movie has never looked better. Its a dialog movie. However the sound should of been in DTSX instead of regular DTS master.

The 4k version of this is well worth it!! Add this to the collection if you have never seen it, or you want the best possible picture and sound.

Excellent entertainment. Put this DVD on the shelf and watch it once a month... it never gets old. Classic. Freedman is one of the best actors ever. He always makes his characters believable. Its easy to loose yourself with this film. Every time I watch it, I re-remember parts.

I was blown away the first time I saw the shawshank redemption. It truly is one of the most universal films of all time and has remained relevant being released almost 20 years ago. I was so excited to buy the steel book at such a affordable price and add it to my collection

This film is a MUST SEE. The characters are in a prison. They overcome the problems of corruption and the restictive setting with friendship, courage, humor and creative non-violent rebellion. Outstanding acting. Inspiring. Big impact. One of the best films I've seen.

This movie is sheer perfection to watch over and over again. A classic tale with great performances all around.

One of Stephen King's short stories gets a great movie adaptation. Blu-Ray is the version to get but if you have the dvd it may not warrant the purchase. I think the minor upgrades are worth it and recommend a purchase for fans of the film.
