Her face lit up when she opened the package! I watched her play after helping with the installation. She just kept telling me how much she absolutely loves this game! Well, after a million thank yous from my niece and watching her play this game, I'd definitely recommend getting it for anyone that loves the Sims games!

The base game is fine enough on its own, but be sure to enhance your experience by downloading custom content (additional sims, houses, etc.) from the gallery. It really makes a difference! The jury is out on the expansion packs, however. The ones that add extra functionality (Pets, for example) are great, but the Stuff Packs aren't really necessary, only adding cosmetic items like more clothes or building tiles.

I bought this for my girlfriend for Christmas because SHE is a huge Sims fan! After she started playing it I watched to see what the fuss was about and before I knew it 2 hours had gone by! It's highly addictive and a lot of fun!
