Glad to see this is on 4K Blu-ray. Have wanted to watch John carpenters version seen the one from 2011 I think that’s what that one came out overall happy with it. Can’t wait to check it out.

The definitive version of John Carpenter's sci-fin horror classic. Practical effects look great in 4K. Fans of this film may have the excellent Blu Ray versions form Scream/Shout with better extras but the 4K version has best color timing, resolution etc. A must own!

This presentation of The Thing in 4k UHD is really impressive. In my opinion and others it is the best this film has every looked. I’m just really happy all these years the movie is looked to fondly. And Carpenter is getting his dues for directing this film.

One of my favorite horror movies of all time. This is a timeless movie by a timeless director. There isn't much, if anything that John Carpenter has made that I haven't liked or loved. This movies look absolutely great in 4k and sounds great too!

One of John Carpenters,if not his best film has come with a stunning 4K presentation.The ice,fires and blood stand out more than ever.Blacks are perfect with no signs of crush.Sound is the same as previous blu-ray release but still rock.Buy it and enjoy.

Universal's UHD release of The Thing has been long anticipated and the disc does not disappoint. The video and audio presentations are very good, the former particularly pleasing and a high yield upgrade over the 13-year-old original Blu-ray.

Amazing, fantastic, groundbreaking horror! A pure horror thrill from start to finish. Worth watching at least once a year for the experience alone. This is the best quality version available, so pick it up.

Didn’t really want to see movie when it first came out. After all the reevaluation since it first came out, had to see it. Wow it really works on your nerves. Much better than Halloween. The 4 k puts it over the top.

Good all time classic. Great 4k transfer. Storyline keeps you interested and has enough mystery to keep you intrigued. The transformation scenes are still jaw dropping to this day!(deontay wilder reference). Movie looks great in 4k.

I've waited too long to watch the original version. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie! I watched the remake a few years ago and needed to see the original. This does not disappoint and will entertain you throughout. highly recommend.

Possibly the best horror movie ever made in my opinion. This new transfer breathes life into the movie, it looks fantastic. Better than ever before. The practical effects in the movie hold up beautifully in native 4K resolution!

This is one of my families favorite scary movies. This native 4K version has to be the best this movie will ever look and the new 7.1 DTS-X mix certainly adds a little something extra to the movies impact.

What can I say about this film that you haven't seen before. I've owned the VHS version of this as a teen. Then the DVD, later the Scream Factory Blu-ray. Now in Awesometacular 4K UHD disc. This is the best this film has ever looked.

Unfortunately I'm not able to watch this and some of my other 4k blu-ray movies that I purchased because I had to return the 4k blu-ray player that I just bought due to it possibly being damaged considering how the box looked.

A bonafide classic comes to 4k. This movie has never looked, sound as good as this release. I own this film on digital 4k and dvd. This disc beats both in terms of quality. Blacks are deep, whites are bright. Dts x surround mix.

Always was a fan of the thing, ultimate paranoia movie, far better than 50s version, finally became available on 4k blu ray, flawless picture and now in dts x, if your a fan of this movie this is the only way to watch it.

Great movie! This movie came out when I was 11 or 12 years old. Surprisingly I never saw this when I was younger. This movie was a ton better than I thought it would be. Great cast great acting great writing and quite scary. I was surprised how well the old school special effects actually looked pretty good to bring the monsters to life. I would highly recommend this movie

Picture and Audio quality are leaps and bounds over the Blu Ray. Highly recommend the upgrade especially if you don't own on Blu Ray already. Lacking in special features but it's the best the film has ever looked.

The new scan looks gorgeous and thankfully all of the original extras have been carried over from the original release. A big plus. Missed out on the steelbook although I like the original poster art here better.

4K is perfect, audio as well! The movie itself is a classic and Kurt Russell is great! The special effects are what rules her though, and the 4K transfer really lets them shine!
