The 4K Is Really Good, Not Great, But A Great Way To Own The Movie If You Don’t Already Have It And A Great Steelbook, Love This And It’s One Of My Favorite Movies

I’m basing my review on the shipping of this product. I first ordered this product and it came damaged and had to return it and order again. The second came fine and the disc were clean no scratches.

Great "Boston film", good heist film

"The Town" is one of those films that fits into the odd sub-genre of "Boston films", usually taking place in Greater Boston, involving class or religious conflict (typically Irish Catholics and WASPs, though not always), centering on working class protagonists and using the city of Boston as a character in of itself. So... "Good Will Hunting", "The Departed", "Mystic River", "Patriots Day", and so forth. As a Boston film, "The Town" checks all the boxes, centering on working class life in Charlestown, particularly on a bunch of robbers. After an introduction to our characters, the plot focuses on preparations on the big heist, a job at Fenway Park, and as a heist film the setup is intriguing and the action-packed payoff is excellent. The film does a fine job balancing the two subgenres together. It isn't as concise or tense as "Argo", but in many ways it feels more personal. The 4K HDR looks great, and the steelcase art is definitely worth the extra $5.

    THE TOWN STEELBOOK!

Upgraded my 2K Blu-ray, purchased many years ago, to 4K even though this was only an upscale and not a true 4K. The plus was that this movie was now being released in a Steelbook. Did not purchase the original 4K release back in 2016. What was nice was that the steelbook has a matte finish that resists fingerprints, nice touch. The Town's 4K Disc Only Contains the Theatrical Cut which is okay by me since I prefer the shorter, more tight theatrical version over the extended. This is a well acted movie by all parties involved. The 4K Video is an improvement over the Blu-ray but the Audio is the same as the previous Blu-ray.

This is a pretty good movie. There is a lot of action that leaves you on edge at times. The things people could think of to pull of a crime is crazy. Hope this never happens in my TOWN!

I remember my parents watching this when I was little and I remember the masks they wore and years later I was playing payday 2 and saw the mask and I watched the movie and I loved it the ways they plan and how they prepare for a heist is amazing and to have this movie in my steelbook collection it’s great to see how the extended cut was.

The Town, a solid crime caper directed by Ben Affleck, starring himself along with a great cast. What you get: Exclusive Steelbook Packaging - This handsome two-disc set arrives in a beautiful Steelbook case with a matte finish. The Town's theatrical cut receives an upgrade on Warner's 2160p, HEVC/H.265-encoded UHD. The previously released Extended Cut on Blu-ray. The theatrical cut 4K digital code. A great film and an outstanding SteelBook case!

This is the movie that turned Ben Afflecks career around and he followed it with more great ones like Argo. Although now that he is back with JLo im sure his movies will start to suck again

Ben Affleck shines as both actor and director in The Town. The story is gripping, the characters are interesting, and the film is engaging from start to finish. A must watch!

An Exciting Film Leaving You On Edge Of Seat

A good script, a good cast, lead to a great movie! Ben Affleck proves he knows how to make a movie leaving film lovers glued to the screen. Ben plays a criminal mastermind with a crew that works very well together. Jon Hamm plays an FBI agent who swears to bring him down. When the opening scene of Ben and his crew taking a bank down goes wrong, they take a hostage, an employee from the bank. When they release her they learn she talks to the cops and lives in the vicinity where the crew lives. Fearing she will lead the FBI to them, the crew wants to take her out, but Ben says no. He courts her, dines her, tries to get the feel for what her plans are. Jon Hamm diligently does everything his power allows him to find out who this crew is and bring them down. When Ben tries to get out of town before it's too late, his crew threaten him. He must pull off one last heist before being given his freedom.

    Best Heist Film Since "Heat"

This was another of the discounted 4K pickups I came across once I picked up my4K HDR player. I was looking for movies I love and have a tendency to rewatch frequently and The Town is on that list. That being said: this was a release I wasn't fully satisfied with. While the movie itself is still amazing, I was disappointed to see that the HDR version we're given is the Theatrical release and not the Extended Cut. I know the extended cut doesn't add all that much more action, but I just feel that for the money and the experience we all buy the movie for to see it in 4K, I would have preferred that WB give us the extended cut in 4K. I'm not all that surprised since they didn't release Argo or Suicide Squad extended cuts in 4K. The 4K upgrade isn't all that noticeable in terms of picture. There are a couple of color enriched scenes, but the biggest benefit is the audio upgrade.

Bank Heist in 4K Steelbook Form

The Town 4K steelbook is very nicely designed and packaged. It comes with the theatrical cut in 4K, but unfortunately does not have the superior extended cut on the 4K disc. Regardless, the 4K looks and sounds better than ever. The only other issue I had was the back had a dent in the middle.

Great follow up to Ben Afflecks Gone Baby Gone

Ben Afflecks second time being behind the camera and in the directors chair as well as starring in his film The Town. It is a great follow up to his directorial debut film Gone Baby Gone, which was great, but now he shifts to bank heists, car chases and gun fights. Not only does the film have a good cohesive story, but Ben Affleck and Jeremy Renner are outstanding in their roles. Their is also a good supporting cast which includes Rebecca Hall and Jon Hamm. This movie also looks fantastic, especially on bluray, and the sound is just as good.

Affleck's best work as an actor/director/writer

The Town is arguably Affleck's best work in the triple duties of acting, directing, and writing (more so than Argo in my opinion). 4K quality is excellent. I didn't try the blu-ray but assume it should match the expectations for that format.
