I read the book this movie was based on years ago and stumbled on the DVD. The DVD was very true to the book and is a gripping true tale. Seeing these people's struggle and will to survive fit with my images from the book. If you are looking for a action thriller without much violence or bloodshed, this film is for you.

With many laughs and a serious story the acting seems a little far fetched but gets better as the plot proceeds. At the end you feel for the characters and are rooting for the young boy. Give it a shot, it is worth seeing/owning.

Saorsa Ronan is half the reason this movie is so great. She is the actress to watch rise right now. This is one of the best stories of survival I have seen in a long time.

The movie was good, it just didn’t follow the book, which was written by one of the survivors. It sure showed the test of your will.

Based on a true story that occurs during world war 2 on prisoners who try to escape after the war ends and try to survive the cold and heat of the places they are trying to escape from.

Good story and beautiful landscapes. If you put your mind to it anything is possible. They endured a lot and didn't give up even to the end.

Great looking picture and very good surround sound track, but the story line falls somewhat short towards the end.

Never heard of this particular movie and was pleasantly surprised at the intensity of the plot and acting.
