    An excellent, serious RPG!

This is a partial review, as I've only got about 35+ hours into it, but I am absolutely loving it so far! This is a massive, beautiful, and beefy RPG that true lovers of the genre can fall in love with! The devs, CD Projekt Red, clearly put everything they had into this third installment of the series and then some. The environments, the combat, the crafting, the lore, it's all there just begging to be explored. This is easily a 50+ hour game for those who tend to rush through and ignore sidequests, but for those of us who dig in and explore everything and do those very beneficial smaller quests, you're looking at somewhere in the 150-200 hour range. No joke, it's every bit the massive and deep game that we've been told it was going to be! I've been playing this on the PS4 and it's performed wonderfully for the most part. A very slight bit of framerate dip when things get hectic, but for a game this big shoved onto a console, it's very understandable. Though I'm primarily a console gamer, if you have the choice between console and a fairly well built PC, go with the painfully obvious PC choice. That being said, it works surprisingly well on the PS4 and CDPR did a stellar job of working things out layout wise on controllers. I can only imagine all the whipping and flogging they must have done to their team to get this game to perform so well on consoles. I'm guessing that the 'Your PC must be this tall to ride this ride' sign is probably at the height of a very tall adult, so be warned. One other small complaint that sticks out for me would be that the menu system can quickly become overwhelmed and cluttered. There is just so much stuff out there, stuff you're probably going to need because cash is very tight in this game, that you'll soon find yourself squinting hard to find that one well buried item you need for crafting, oil, weapons/armor upgrades, or whatever. Hand holding. If you stick your hand out for help or mercy from this game, expect to draw back a stump. For those of you ready for the challenge, you should do fine, but just be sure to keep frequent saves going, as even a well executed plan can quickly go wrong. Keep your weapons, sharp, your armor up to date, and study up on what you're going up against or pay the price of ignorance. For people used to the intricacies of RPG games, this is right up your alley, but for people looking for a casual, easy to jump into game, perhaps look elsewhere. There is so much more I could say, but if you've read this far, you're probably already going to get this game anyway with or without some anonymous stranger's review. I also felt limited somewhat by the 5 star rating system. This game isn't the be all, end all RGP game, but it's definitely a solid 9 or maybe a 9.5 in my eyes and I'm an avid RPGer. Giving it a 4/5 or 80% felt sorta criminal to me, so it got 5. It's definitely an incredible game and whether or not you're in to the the Witcher series makes little difference in a game this good! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is definitely a game that falls into my wheelhouse. I really enjoy RPGs that give you plenty to do and that's exactly what this game does. I've played over 100 hours and still haven't visited one of the major regions on the map. I'm one of those players that likes to work on secondary missions and treasure hunts before pursuing the main missions that move the story along. Not every side mission is an epic adventure, but many are both interesting and fun. At the end of the day, ask yourself this question: Do I look forward to my next gaming session? The answer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is yes!

Open world RPG with great graphics, action combat, and interesting NPC interactive storyline. Not by far my favorite game ever but definitely enjoyable and worth picking up.

The greatest RPG and one of the best Games created. The Witcher 3 redefines what RPG can and should be. It deservedly won many awards and this, the Game of the Year edition, is the complete package bundling in both of the DLC packs released after - as well as the free DLC too. Visually stunning and impeccably polished, it shows what can be achieved on this hardware. Its certainly not style over substance either. The story is compelling, characters and voice acting, superb and an excellent soundtrack too. It is an Adults game and not just because of the violence. The world is stunning and beautifully realised. I can spend time just watching the sun set over a stunning Vista rather than rush from one objective to the next. Combat is great too and on harder difficulties, requires preparation, understanding the variety of enemies and their weaknesses and ensuring you are properly equipped to deal with them. Its not unlike Bloodbourne in a lot of ways. I am certainly not going to spoil the story although with multiple choices through out the game leading to a variety of possible outcomes, your play through could be very different. The world feels dynamic with choices and consequences - even from seemingly minor side quests having some bigger consequences than expected - its not necessarily black or white, good or bad but some can be good for some but bad for others and that 'dynamic' can have an impact in the world. As mentioned, there are a lot of Side Quests as well as Witcher Contracts (Contracts on some mythical creature - like a Griffin, Ogres, Vampire etc) as well as opportunities to play Gwent, race horses. I spent 150hrs on my first playthrough and there is a 'new game +' option too if you want to play through again and maybe see how different decisions playout without having to find all the bombs, potions recipes again and gather the materials to craft these. The bundled DLC is also excellent. The first and smaller of the two takes place in the same 'space' as the main game and offers its own 'mini' story line as well as new side quests. The second adds a new quite large area and is 'bigger' and better than many AAA games on its own. This is easily one of the best games ever created and highly recommended!

Game was beautifully crafted. Storyline was done well. Great voice acting. Errands can be a bit annoying but love how your decisions change the layout of the game itself.

I bought this game never had played a previous witcher game before and i have been absolutely overwhelmed by the immensity of this game. The main story is only a fraction of the content this game holds because there is so much to do such as side quests, contracts, exploring, treasure hunting, monster hunting, the list goes on. I have put in about 100 hours into this game and am no where near completing the game. The main character Geralt can be played however you want to play him and the decisions you make in the game can shape the world drastically. Definitely a must buy for fans of the great story and content.

The world and characters of The Witcher 3 are the most fully realized and lovingly-crafted to ever grace an open world RPG. For the first time ever, the scale and freedom of a game like Skyrim is married with the quality story-telling of games like Mass Effect. The PS4 and Xbox One versions do have some performance issues such as low frame rates in certain areas and load times of over a minute after each death. Personally these issues were annoying but didn't seriously hamper my enjoyment.

The best way to describe The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is as most people have. Think Skyrim with Dark Souls combat. You can't sneak or use a shield to block. You can block some attacks with your sword, parry them, counter attack, dodge and roll away. Most attack/movements take away your stamina, so you have to plan your attacks. The primary issue I have with Witcher 3 is that in some battles the auto-targeting gets totally messed up. Just last night I was fighting a big group of witch hunters and I would use my Igni for a person running at me, but the game decided that the wall behind me was the better place to use it. I don't know why the game does that sometimes, but it is not very often. Other than how the game does targeting, it has been awesome. Large worlds to just roam and explore, hidden caves to find, gear to find. The card game GWENT has been a lot of fun and I usuallly don't do side card games like that. In conclusion, if you want an amazing open world game that you can play at your own pace pick it up.

Other than not running real smooth, it's been a great experience so far. Doesn't seem to require playing previous games to enjoy this one. Looks incredible and has tons of content. The framerate seems to spike a bit which is my only complaint so far. The world is very detailed and full of life.

This is definitely the best game on next gen consoles, one of the best action rpg's ever made, and arguably one of the deepest, most complete, and longest (45 hrs and I'm not even half way!) games ever created. It has fantastic dialog and character animations and artistic environs including beautiful weather changes. An adult theme and stories with a mix of Game of Thrones intrigue and brutality mixed with Skyrim and Red Dead Redemption open world exploration play mechanics. I predict this will be game of the year or one of the top contenders, even w so many great games coming out later this year.

Overall game play and visuals are amazing, story and characters are deep detailed it is easy to get immersed for hours on end, that being said Witcher 3 has its fair share of issues, controls overall could use improvement, and the game at times feels clunky and not as smooth as it should.

This is a very fun game with lots involved. However it is not for a casual gamer. It has a lot involved and the controls can be quite difficult especially in stressful times. Graphics are great, sometimes can be a little rough but considering how much is involved 'm not complaining.
