Role Playing Excellence
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I must say that I played Witcher 2 on PC several years ago and enjoyed it. The graphics were good on my PC but I opted this time to go with a console version. I have been following the progress, trailers, and any information I have seen on the Witcher 3 and must admit that it does not disappoint. I bought the Xbone for myself and the PS4 for my son. I believe the PS4 version to be a bit better in the graphics but nothing serious. Witcher 3 has a bit of a learning curve to get started but nothing too hard. You come across one of the games mini games, Gwent early on in White Orchard. Do yourself a favor and take the time to watch and study the tutorial. While Gwent is one of the secondary quests in Witcher 3, it is truly an addictive strategy game that will pull you in and hold you there. You may have to do some on line searching for learning videos like I did but it is worth it. Be sure to check with merchants throughout the world for specialty cards. The game seems to have long load times when you do die. Be sure to save often especially before going into a battle or you will be repeating a lot of unnecessary playing. If you love RPG games, I am sure you will love this one. This is right up there with my top 5 all time greats which include GTA V and The Last of Us. Would I recommend this game? I highly recommend this game to all gamers out there.

Amazing. Can't put it down
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game has it all. A compelling storyline, action, graphics, puzzle solving, quests, customization and character building, etc etc. I play everything from fighting games to shooters but love a good story driven game and this has that while also allowing you to explore a huge open world that is extremely well done visually and structurally in terms of interacting with the world around you. It's by far the best next gen game to come out so far.

Amazing Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is the standard that all games should be held to. The graphics are stunning, the story is engaging, and the world is diverse and full of life. There is hundreds of hours of content to explore in the different sectors and many side missions that are well thought out and fun. If you are a fan of the RPG genre you should absolutely pick this game up.

Huge BEAUTIFUL game but still with its minor flaws
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is amazing story wise, great experience learning the identities of people and how they relate to the main characters; the gameplay is pretty fluent for the most part, your mount Roach can be pretty annoying, and combat has its ups and downs, but overall pretty solid. The world is seriously gorgeous, just walking through the wilderness and seeing the mountains in the distance with the clouds and everything, wandering the environment is entertaining on its own. It has framerate issues and texture loading slowdowns from time to time but nothing really game breaking.

Great RPG for a Beginner and Experts
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I normally do not play RPG's whatsoever, primarily sticking to sports, first person shooters, and standard campaign based games. I figured I would give this one a shot with all of the hype and high regards coming out of the various gaming sites, and I am not disappointed. Things start off basic enough to give you the basic understanding of the controls, features, and how to use alchemy, game maps, track primary and secondary quests as well as contracts. From there you begin to gain experience both personally and as your character to the point where you can purchase upgrades to perform new and more powerful moves/magic. I have been playing for somewhere in the neighborhood of 24 hours and I am still finding all sorts of new quests, undiscovered areas, and hidden items throughout the first land/world. You don't need to spend this much time in the first world as there is a primary quest track that takes you through the base storyline, but roaming around and finding those secondary quests is just as fun, if not better. I would highly recommend this game to all avid gamers looking for the next great RPG or looking to delve into the RPG world for the first time like I did.

Solid continuation of a fun series
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, Witcher 3 is an improvement over everything from the prior games in the series. Obviously the graphics are better with the next generation hardware. But the improvements don't just stop there. The story is just as engaging, if not more so, than the earlier titles. Combat seems smoother (not perfect by any means, but better for certain). And then there are all kinds of smaller touches that add to the experience that I hadn't noticed before. Could go on, but long story short...it's a very good game for anyone into this particular style.

Excellent!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Witcher 3 is a very solid game. For those that are curious, you do not need to have played the other Witcher games to understand this one. Sure, it would benefit, a bit, as far as knowing some back story, but the game gives you what you need to know. Graphics, combat, story, are all great. Definitely worth a play through (or many).

Great Game!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally wasn't going to get this game but I decided to give it a try since Arkham Knight isn't due till a month from now. All I can say is Amazing! Great graphics, good gameplay, good story (so far) and not to mention there is a lot to do! If you are indecisive about getting this game then just take a leap of faith like I did.

top notch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this game defines open world RPGs, my only gripe is that to run a world so vast and with so much going on it really strains the frame rate and there is significant performance issues sometimes. The game itself is so amazing as to not be hurt by this, and the performance issues prove how much content you're really getting

Nilfgaardians…Nilfwhatagains?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow, so how do you review a game that is as grand as The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt? I'm not sure but lets give it a shot. For starters, there's the massive open world environment which is brimming with beauty. Be careful however as danger can rear its ugly talons at any moment. In other words, enjoy the rich expansive world but always be on your guard. The story is great but the characters who play a part in it are even greater. There's also a real sense of growth with your character as you level up since you'll be acquiring new armor, weapons, potions and changing your looks along the way. The combat and RPG elements are excellent as well. If I could give one piece of combat advice it would be to dodge instead of roll since rolling uses stamina which can be very vital in a heated battle. How do you take a great game to the upper echelon? You make all the future DLC free and the developer CD Projekt RED did just that. They even included a thank you note in the game case. I don't know how much more information you need to go and get this game already. So go. You won't be disappointed.

RPG Dream
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I Love RPG games and this tittle intrigued me with the expansive open world. I like games that let you decide where to go and how to play, and that's precisely what I got with the Witcher. I've yet to play the predecessors but I didn't feel the need to or even knowledge of the franchise. I learned all i needed to from this title and it was very good at expanding on the story, so much that it left me wanting more of the game and I may play the first two. While there were a few graphic bugs and glitches, it didn't take away from the game itself and once you get past the few occasional annoyances you get to enjoy some intense combat action and exploration that you get lost in the richly rendered environment and the diversity of the creatures you encounter. It's intense, and long so if you don't like engrossing games that really suck you in you may not like the pace or the scale but if that's what you're looking for than this is it. This game has the slow pace, the leveling, the scale, and the interactive intensity with the environment, NPCs and enemies RPG lovers want.

Right up there...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is right up there with Bloodborne to me. However, I do feel the control mechanics to not be as smooth when playing the Witcher. I do hope that maybe a update with fix this. There are other small bugs here and there also, but not too big it becomes an annoyance. Graphics, world design and storytelling are top notch. Considering other games these days you pay $60 for, I can tell you that this game is worth the price. There is so much to do and learn! I just hope I can find time to finish it!

Controls KILLED this game for me...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to love this game, considering all the hype it has been getting. First off, there is no denying the amount of value you get for this game and the great graphics/presentation. HOWEVER, the main thing is the controls - they are absolutely HORRID. I just recently got the Platinum trophy for Bloodborne and that game controls SO GOOD. After a few minutes I began to think my controller was broken or something (HOW BAD it feels), its feels really bad and there is a major dead zone with this game. Sucks I couldn't get past that, but it is the most crucial aspect to playing a video game - HOW does it actually play? Unfortunately it is bad enough to make me want to sell it back. I understand that everything else is great, but I don't know how reviewers completely looked past this. The performance isn't all that great either, a lot of frame rate issues in the game also.

Amazing RPG
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great rpg that really puts you in the shoes of a witcher. As a witcher you hunt monsters, but it's not all hack and slash. You have to research your prey and prepare to fight them with the right oils and bombs. Story is great as well. Highly recommended for anyone on the fence.

RPG for the ages
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm an avid RPG player, both Western and Japanese. I've had the joy of playing many of what are now considered classics of the genres: Mass Effect, Final Fantasy 9, Persona, Xenoblade, Skyrim. And after playing The Witcher 3, I firmly believe that the game holds a place in that RPG Pantheon, right alongside those other games. The game is not without flaws. It has glitches, it has framerate issues and texture pop-in. Combat can be a little "janky" and at higher difficulties is probably still altogether too easy. And yet, in spite of all the problems, I find that I don't care. The game is still excellent, even with those problems. The quests, the story, the characters and the world-building? They're really second to none. I came into this game as a newcomer to The Witcher series, without having played any other games or read the books. And yet I was sucked into this game and into the world. It's something that everyone should play. Also, #Gwent4Life

Game Of the Year!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Alright so heres the real deal,This is an amazing game. ITS MASSIVE! I have not stopped playing it since I got it and its just amazing. The game does have some crazy glitches, but they are few and far between and they didn't even concern me. People complain about frame rate, I havent had an issue with it. The game is so massive and full of things it just makes up for everything else. The gameplay is enjoyable and refreshing. Humorous at times and serious at others. I've even heard people complaining about the graphics, look Super mario was 8 bits, it was freaking pixels and it was amazing, Just because this game doesnt have the most beautiful graphics ever doesnt make it any less amazing. The graphics to me are still very impressive.
