There are 2 schools of thought on how to play this game. The first is on the lowest difficulty setting, just to get the story. The story on its own is well thought out and very engaging, but on the easiest setting you have zero challenge and will run over anything you meet along the way. The game really shines with the second school of thought. Play it on the hardest possible difficulty. Some of the battles you get into are still relatively easy, but during plot twists the combat is heavy and heated, actually making you feel as if you are there wielding the swords. I recommend you play on the hardest difficulty you can manage, give yourself a feeling of accomplishment at the end. Don't forget, there is a difficulty setting which you can change in game if you're having trouble on battles.
This game is not for the faint of heart, the M for Mature rating is there for a reason.

This game is absolutely amazing! I was never a huge fan of RPGs, but this game changed my mind. The open world is huge and immersive and the graphics are absolutely fantastic. The story is very gripping as well, so this game definitely deserves a try!

The Witcher 3 is a fun and addictive RPG with great graphics, storytelling and voice acting. Every main and side mission features great voice acting to keep you involved and interested in the twists and turns of each mission- almost nothing is a straightforward fetch quest. There are interesting areas to explore, skills to level and card games to play. I just made it to level 10 playing on hard, which took around 10 hours or so. Experience comes from completing missions/quests not from just killing monsters. The game is almost like a long miniseries that you can watch as much or as little as you like as there are times you can put the controller down and enjoy the show.

I picked up the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt a few weeks ago and haven't made it very far in the main story as of yet. This is simply because the Witcher 3's open world is enormous. I find myself moving from quest to quest only to pick up additional quests along the way while straying further from the main plotline. This isn't a bad thing though as the side quests are great subplots that are incredibly fleshed out and provide additional details about the world, characters and stories. Overall, the game has been fun to play but does have a few flaws - The UI pieces can be quite small, bags can contain many items with no real way to sort and it can be difficult to know the value of many of the crafting pieces, and combat is basically a 2-3 button affair.
So far it's a been a fun ride even if I stray off the beaten path every time I set out on a quest.

The content in this game is simply unbelievable. When CD Project Red announced it would be 200+ hours to do everything, they were not kidding. You can easily spend hundreds of hours playing through the content and not be bored. More importantly, you can tell when you play that every aspect of the game was well thought out. Even a seemingly remote, unimportant side quest has a lot of dialogue and a variety of options. The world truly feels alive.
The only gripe I have about the game is that combat can be a bit easy after a while with a few key abilities, but I am not on the hardest difficulty setting, so when I go through and play the recently announced NG+, I may update this to tell you combat is much more difficult.
In any event, this game is a simply must own and will certainly be a candidate for Game of the Year.

I really love this game for the PS4 as the graphics are stunning, the combat is superb, the story is intriguing, and overall it is just a great value considering the length of the game and how big the world is that you explore in the game.

Gorgeous visuals, great story and writing, side quests are just as interesting as the main quest, fun combat. All the added things that come in the case are a welcome surprise, especially the thank you note from the developers.

One of the best games of the year, with Bloodborne slightly taking the advantage due to my own preference. Huge open world to explore, fun combat system, great characters and story. Highly recommend for any RPG fan out there.

The Withcher is a fantastic game. Without giving up an spoiler alerts; the game is really fun and unique. The world is huge and you can literally travel anywhere. A lot of interactions with the environment/enemies/and people. You can catch up pretty easily if you haven't played the first game and the storyline is easy to follow and fill in the small blanks.
The graphics and the sounds of the game are great. I had tons of fun with it and i plan on beating this game a few times before i shelf it. If you are planning on buying it i would expect to spend a significant amount of time on your initial play because it draws you in and before you know it; it will be well past your bedtime.
Excellent game/lots of fun if you have some spare cash and really want to get a game to enjoy buy this!

A lot of people are calling The Witcher 3 game of the year and I have a hard time disagreeing with them. This game has most of things you want from a triple a game and this is from a developer that hasn't made a lot of waves in the gaming industry, but fans of cd project red know that they are triple a in every sense of the word. The Witcher has you play as Geralt of Rivia a Witcher how's job is to do one thing Hunt. You explore amazing landscapes and towns that and are about as dense as Mercury. This is the only open world rpg that will make you take a lol the time in the world to explore every nook and cranny to see what there is. Cannot recommend enough a must buy for any fan of gaming or high fantasy.

Nudity, Drugs and Gore galore. This is not a game for the young ones, and might not be suitable for the older ones. But it is a very in-depth game with excellent graphics and a really good story line.

Unlike many open-world RPGs, The Witcher 3's world feels alive. There is so much to do, each quest big or small has a story to it, combat is unique and fun, and the world looks beautiful on my PS4.

Avid gamer with little time. If you like Skyrim and Dragon Age: Inquisition, you'll love this. It also has a some GTA sprinkled in it.
The stuff I love most about gaming is the story and amount of detail. The story is very intruiging but falls short of keeping you interested dragging it out by having you do small quests for the larger quest every single time. BUT the detail is amazing. Exploring, fighting, and learning different monsters is exhilarating. You have to learn about your enemy before you fight them and it makes a difference.

I don't play games often but this one caught my attention... I used to play Zelda, so it seemed intriguing and I enjoy the role-playing and fantasy aspect... I didn't realize the intensity this would have, however! The graphics are amazing, the realism is unsurpassed... for not being a "gamer"... I hate to have to quit playing this one! It's addictive... hard to learn at first because of not being familiar with the controls, but I know that will come in time.
Highly recommended.

This is an excellent game. The story is incredibly well done (even most side quests are captivating), most of the actual quests aren't just filler or repeats, the graphics are quite nice, and the gameplay is very nice. My one gripe with the game is the fighting mechanics are a little sluggish and don't feel very tight. Outside of this minor complaint, I highly recommend this game.
Also, CD Projekt Red are an excellent developer team: they've left a note in each game stating they're thankful that we (the consumer) have spent our hard earned money on their game, so they're including 16 additional DLC pieces for absolutely free.
