    A Fantastic Product for Relaxation!

The Therabody Smart Googles is something I never knew I needed till now! My job requires a lot of mental energy throughout the day, and I always seem to be bringing work home with me. So, by the end of a long workday it’s sometimes hard to shut my brain down for bed. These googles seem to be the answer for helping my brain to completely shut down and fall asleep. Because after using these for a week I’m very impressed at the results so far! I am the type of person that really likes to sleep in a dark room. Lately I’ve been using something to cover up my eyes because our bedroom is so bright, so I’ll use a t-shirt or a pillow to make it seem darker than it is. So, the idea of using something like the smart googles with complete blackout features along with vibrations, heating and massaging features was very intriguing to me! Initial setup couldn’t be easier. There’s a Therabody app that you can pair Bluetooth to the app and I believe there’s a second version of the APP on the way soon. But you can also use the device without pairing it to the app! There are 3 different modes with the Smart Googles. SmartRelax, Focus, and Sleep. SmartRelax mode uses a biometric sensor to tailor the vibrations to match your heart rate and gently massages the eye area with heat. Focus mode is more for releasing tension or helping with headaches by using a single vibration pattern that’s purpose is to relax while pairing it with heat. And Sleep mode gently massages the temple with slow-wave vibrations. Each mode is further customizable with four vibration and three heat settings. First time using the googles was very surprising because I fell asleep with them on. The googles will gently press and massage and vibrate around your eyes and temples. It feels like someone is giving you a nice massage and the heat element adds a further level of relaxation. The sounds woosh around you and make you feel very comfortable and still, coupled with the 100% blackout, its very relaxing. SmartRelax is probably the mode I’ve used the most so far, but also use Focus mode when I need headache relief or more stress relief after a tougher day. The battery for the googles are very good, I haven’t had to worry about charging hardly at all over the last week. But these googles have become part of my nightly routine! I recommend the Therabody Smart Googles. They are very good at what they do by helping you wind down at the end of the day. The 3 modes have good variety to them and the battery life performs well. 5 out of 5 from me!

    My new favorite device

I’ll just start off by admitting that this exceeded my already high expectations when it comes to execution. Out of the box, you can tell it’s a high end device with sleek packaging, the goggles, charging cord, and carrying case. The device came semi-charged but I immediately plugged it in to get this charged to full. It’s hard to tell how long it takes to charge to full but I’d estimate 1-2 hours? I put the goggles on and while it’s a tad heavy and think, I was immediately impressed with how comfortable it is. There’s three main presets which are sleep prep, headache/eye strain, and relaxation, all of which have different massage and heat settings. I haven’t used the relax setting but used the eye strain one a few times to good success, and have used the sleep prep setting nightly. Genuinely, I can say I’ve gone to bed more relaxed, and fell asleep faster, in a deeper sleep than I historically have. My wife is an eye doctor who tried the device and thinks it’s great as well. The wife’s only complaint is that the indicator lights on the device are very bright in a dark room, especially when I’m using it in bed next to her and it’s close to her face. Unfortunately there’s no way to turn the lights down or off. Despite using a preset function, you can still cycle through the heat and massage settings if you’d like, unfortunately there’s no indicator as to which setting you’re moving too and from, so if you’re trying to turn the heat up for example, you can’t really tell if it’s on low/medium/high and many times may just turn the heat off, it’s really hard to tell and frustrating. Additionally, I imagined with the blackout feature I’d wear this with a sleep prep function and sleep all night with it in, but with the device’s bulky nature and me sleeping on my side, that’s not happening. Theoreticallly if you sleep on your back you could wear this all night, but don’t plan on it. Lastly is the app companion which is actually one of the better app companions I’ve used. It’s super easy to setup, isn’t invasive, and offers a bunch of presets, various in length that you can set the goggles to synchronize with. For example, you may elect a rainforest theme with low heat and a vibrating massage that lasts for 25 minutes, in which time your goggles will automatically start/stop and your phone will play rainforest sounds throughout the time. While I wish they would play audio directly from the headset, it’s still a good feature to have. All said, in a perfect world, the device would be more comfortable to wear all night, would play audio, and not be so bright, but despite those flaws, it’s still comfortable, easy to use, and has noticeable benefits and for that, it’s getting a thumbs up from me.

    Soothing and Relaxing Goggles!

The SmartGoggles from Therabody are a really innovative product that are advertised to assist the user with relaxation, stress relief, and better sleep. Right out of the box, I found that these goggles are stout! They have a very solid build quality which makes me feel like they are gonna hold up a very long time. The only drawback on that respect is these goggles are pretty heavy. That would be my only complaint! They are heavy and that force does slightly push down on the top of my nose making it slightly hard to breath through my nose. I have a large head, I admit it! When I use them I let the head strap all the way out and it is still rather tight on my head. That is why the rating is 4 starts instead of five. Enough about my complaints though, let's talk about the features and what it does. This headset does several things. It has three different heat settings and the top setting gets warm! It vibrates to massage all the way around the top and bottom of the goggles. It also inflates/deflates on the sides of the goggles to put pressure on the temples. The goggles keep track of your heart rate throughout the cycle with a sensor that is on them. The smart phone app lets the user customize the experience by selecting the heat and massage levels. There is also different audio files that can be used (they play through your phone/bluetooth earbuds) to relax pairing the sound with the massage functions. All in all, this is a neat set of goggles. After the treatment it lets you know where your heart rate started and where it ended after the treatment. My heart rate did go down during the treatment. If you need some assistance relaxing, give the Therabody SmartGoggles a try!

The Therabody 2nd gen Smart Goggles have been a tough product to review. This is a product category that I didn't even know existed before getting the offer to try these out. I'm a little frustrated that I never considered a product like this before as I have struggled with getting to sleep and occasional migraines for years. I've been using the Smart Goggles for about a week now and I'm amazed at how quickly I've grown accustomed to them and how much extra sleep they've gotten me over the last 8 days. It's shocking how effective they are at calming my mind down and letting me get some rest. #Unboxing and first impressions# The Smart Goggles come in a simple box, with an actual printed manual, a carrying case, and USB-C charging cable included. The carrying case has a handy pocket for tucking the charging cable if you need it. The goggles themselves are a little bulkier than I expected, however they are not so bulky that they are uncomfortable or heavy feeling on my face. My unit came charged up and ready to use, although I stuck it on the charger after my first evening just to make sure it was fully charged for subsequent days. I also like to note that the packaging is almost entirely cardboard (other than a plastic bag around the goggles themselves) and easy to recycle. Therabody offers some configuration via bluetooth in their smartphone app but it isn't necessary to get full use out of the Smart Goggles. These are a simple product with just 3 buttons that enable you to set any setting you need if you are not satisfied with the default modes. #Using the Smart Goggles# I have a rather large nose so products like this can sometimes not fit very well, and I was pleased that the goggles fully seal to my face without pressing on the bridge of my nose very hard. I get a complete light seal with the goggles without making the strap super tight. I wear a 7 3/8 hat and the goggles still get around my eyes so they can massage on the sides of my face, although not quite all the way to my temples. I found the Sleep Prep setting works perfectly for me, with an added touch of heat through the heat control to give me a nice massage to get ready for bed. The Headache and Eye Strain and SmartRelax modes each have very different feels to the massage pressure and vibration, with all 3 modes lasting for 15 minutes. I've been fortunate enough to avoid a migraine during the week I've had the product so I can't comment on the Headache and Eye strain mode, but the SmartRelax is a very cool setting that uses the heartrate sensor to gradually induce a calm sensation radiating from your face. The first time I used the Goggles, in SmartRelax at 11am on a Saturday, I fell asleep with them on and napped for an hour. Each night, I've been putting the Smart Goggles on a bit earlier than I normally go to bed and they have helped me disconnect and relax and go right to sleep after using them. The combination of complete darkness, soothing pressure and vibration, and not being tempted by a screen leads to a very effective product at getting to sleep. #Conclusion# So who are the SmartGoggles for? Anyone! Especially people who have trouble getting to sleep either due to medication, anxiety, or mismatched sleep schedules with their partner. I also imagine they would be great for air travel although I haven't used them for that yet myself. I anticipate the Smart Goggles being my most talked about TIN review product for the rest of the year because they have been truly amazing at helping me sleep.

    Relief That’s Instant

[PROS] Solid, But Comfortable: The Therabody SmartGoggles is a well built device, but doesn’t compromise in comfort. The cushions feel soft around the eyes and the mark securely and safely folds up when it needs to be stored. I typically use them for about 15 minutes and never have ann urge to remove them from my face immediately because of discomfort. Effective: I’ll get to the point: it actually works. Pairing this massager with soothing music makes for a very therapeutic experience. I’ve actually managed to reduce tension and pressure of headaches by using this device. The reduction wasn’t major, but it was noticeable. My favorite feature is the kneading it does. It feels like fingers are gliding across your temple to massage it. Robust App: The software can used to be select a wide variety of massaging programs. Furthermore, you can tweak the time duration and intensity levels of different modes. I really appreciate being able to change the default behavior of the buttons as well. Connection to the goggles is instant, and the app is easy to understand. [CONS] - Gets Dirty Easily: One of my gripes is that the massager does not do well with oily skin. The inside pads always need to be wiped cleaned after usage. - Thin Case: The included pouch is handy, but not thick enough for storage or travel. Because this is a delicate product, I would prefer to protect when it’s in my bag or inside a bathroom drawer. - Slim Start Window: Another complaint I have is that the SmartGoogles start too fast. You have a 3 second window to comfortably adjust the goggles before it engages when using the app. I haven’t found a way to tweak it in order to lengthen the delay. [CONCLUSION] I was concerned for this product creating a placebo effect or falling into the pseudoscience category. However, my thoughts changed immediately after use. It’s a device that my wife and I both use occasionally. I highly recommend it.

The Therabody SmartGoggles (2nd Gen) offers a relaxing combination of heat, massage, and vibration designed to relieve eye strain and tension. The heat and massage settings are soothing, providing noticeable relief after a long day or during a headache. However, the elastic band is uncomfortable, especially for users with larger heads, leading to pressure around the temples during extended use. The device's build quality feels solid, but the fit could be more adjustable. App integration is another weak point, the product wasn't available via the app until October 1st. Even with the app being updated and the device now being able to be used with it, I was very disappointed and felt that there could've been more options. Given the premium price, the product feels like it could deliver more in terms of comfort and customization. Despite these drawbacks, the actual massage and heat functions work well for quick relaxation sessions, but it may not be the most comfortable for everyone, especially those with larger craniums. Overall, it’s a decent product but doesn't quite live up to its price tag.

Almost every time I put these on to experience and document the relaxation of these new and improved second generation Smart Goggles from Therabody, I honestly fall asleep! Right out of the box and after a quick charge, they provide massaging compression on the face, variable vibration intensity, and heat to combine and offer a total relaxation experience. I tend to wake up a lot during the night and for those times I need help falling back to sleep, I put on the Smart Goggles, and I am soon falling back to sleep. I should mention that I have sleep apnea and wear a nasal mask when I sleep. I initially was worried that the mask might interfere with the goggles, but relieved to find out that they do work together with no issues. The Smart Goggles have three built-in programs for relaxation, rejuvenation, and sleep, all selected by pressing the power switch. One of the programs has a vibration matching your heartbeat using a sensor built into the mask. Otherwise, I didn’t sense any major differences in the three settings and would have a hard time deciding which I prefer, as they all offer a relaxing massage. The massage comes from a repeating sequence of squeezing pressure on the temples, forehead, and cheekbones and the squeezing power of the goggles is impressive. My one minor complaint is that I do get some squeaking near the left headband connection as the goggles release pressure and also some rattling at higher intensity vibration. I’m hoping it’s due to the newness of the materials and that the situation will improve with use. I suppose it would also be nice if the beep that signals the end of each program could be silenced as it does tend to jolt you awake at the end. Maybe this is something that could be configurable via the smartphone app someday. Therabody recently updated their smartphone app so that now it works with your 2nd generation Smart Goggles via a Bluetooth connection. The app adds several relaxation programs, complete with audio that you can listen to with your built-in smartphone speaker, or a better way for a total immersion is to listen with headphones or earbuds. At the conclusion of a “therapy” session, the app shows your heart pulse before and after. I wouldn’t be surprised if it lowered blood pressure as well. I’m pretty sure I will find myself using these Goggles at least once and day and possibly more as it’s a great way to alleviate daily stress, fall to sleep faster, and sometimes nice just to enjoy an occasional facial message just because you can.

Very Relaxing Eye-Area Massager with Heat

The Therabody Smart Goggles (2nd gen) do provide an incredibly relaxing feeling while blocking out all light. There are three vibration modes (with adjustable vibration and heat settings), and there is also this repeating pattern where it applies massaging pressure to area above the nose and to your temple area. It's the temple massage that makes me extra happy as that's where i normally have my most regular discomfort. I used the massage modes both during the day (general relaxation) and before bed. To black out light in bed, I left it powered off and over my eyes, it worked. The heat over the eyes and nose might have the effect of a warm compress, which could be good for sinus discomfort. As a primarily stomach sleeper, I initially worried it wouldn't be comfortable for my position but realized even though I sleep face down I naturally turn my head to the side. There is a new product smell the first day, but by the second night that mostly went away. As to if it helped fall sleep, it did not for me, but I've got mild BPH which makes falling asleep more difficult. As a result, I won't hold that against this otherwise relaxing product.

These goggles have quickly found their place in our household, helping take care of migraine headaches and helping cure insomia. My wife and I have to play nice and share this one because we both have gotten a lot of use out of it. My wife uses it on nights she can't get to sleep - by the time it finishes it's cycle, she's out cold and snoring. For me it's migraine headaches. I need to be in a quiet, completely blacked out room when I get them. The blackout along with the heating and massaging of my temples makes an enormous dent in any headache I get , in most cases eliminating them 100%. We haven't really pushed the battery life to it's limits though - we tend to plug them back in once we've used them through a single cycle so they are for sure ready to be used the next time they are needed. We're wishing this device had come into our lives a little sooner - it really has added to the quality of life and does things for us no medications have been able to. Thank you Therabody for an awesome product!

    Great Facial Tension Relaxing Goggles

This is my first experience with SmartGoggles, but not with Therabody products. I don’t have issues with sleep, but have a lot of eye tension and headaches which I was hoping these goggles would help ease. The goggles fitted snuggly on my face and completely blocked out the light. The cushion, which allowed for a nice fit, was soft enough to provide a great feel, and did not feel too mushy. I liked that the goggles were designed to keep pressure off my eyes while keeping pressure where I needed it most. The app is not necessary for these to work, but it allows for a more tailored experience with heat and vibration. I was very pleased with the relaxing feeling of both the heat and the gentle vibrations on my forehead, but I thought the occasional pressure on my temples was too firm. The pressure did not cause discomfort, but it distracted me from the overall experience. I would like to see an update to the firmware to include calibration of the firmness of the pressure in certain areas of the goggles. The sound tracks, which accompanied various sessions, was paired well and provided additional relaxation. I would recommend trying these for people who have a hard time relaxing before bedtime or has facial tension and headaches. These goggles felt great to use and have definitely helped relieve some tension.

Admittedly, while hopeful, I was a little uncertain what to expect from these. After using them for some time, I came away fairly impressed. In some ways surprisingly so. They fit me very well and are light and extremely comfortable. Really no pressure or tightness anywhere. Fit, clearly, may not be as good for everyone, but I think they have done enough to cover most? people here. Beyond that, they seem to be put together well and have “a nice feel.” I also think they look nice for what they are. The controls are easy to use, which, given the nature and intention of this device was important to me. I do not have a lot of prior experience with sleep masks, or things like this, but they describe this as a total blackout design, and I think that is accurate. Lastly, while I guess they are a little large, they pack up nicely and are easily portable. The three preset treatments (Smart Relax, Headache & Eye Strain, and Sleep Prep) can all be customized and offer a mix of massage, heat, and vibration. Generally, you are hitting your eyes, temples, forehead and brow areas. Additionally, there are some sound therapy options available (Music, Sounds, Voice, Meditations, etc…) and since the googles do make a “little” noise I think this does add to the overall experience. So, what do I think? I like them. I do prefer the massage and heat over the vibration. I am still working with some routines to dial everything in to find what combinations I like best. That said, there is no doubt that these help me feel better. Physically, sure, with reduced face/head/eye tension, but I think more importantly, in correlation with that, mentally. They just have a very calming effect that allows me to slow down, decompress, and relax. Personally, I have been getting the most use out of these before bed. They have helped me by not only getting me more into a routine, but also by better preparing me to actually sleep. That said, the few times I have just randomly used them has also been helpful. I can see a case for using them at any point throughout the day. Be it for some specific relief, a mid-day recharge, or just to help clear your mind. All in all, I really like these goggles. As I mentioned earlier, I didn’t know what to truly expect, but they largely delivered on what I hoped they would. I am pleasantly surprised. Have realistic expectations, take the time to experiment and dial them in, really give them a try, (and have some idea about your use cases) and I think you will come away impressed. They are a bit of an investment, but for better mental health and wellbeing, I think the value is there.

Therabody makes some of the most unique and useful products that I've ever tried. Their line of wellness products all have a very specific use case and do it extremely well. Thats also very true with these smart goggles. Think of these as a sleep mask full of tech. They are some of the most relaxing things I've ever put on my face. The smart goggles fit snuggly over your eyes, blacking out almost all of the light around you. They are pretty comfortable, though a little heavy. I would definitely recommend laying down while using them as they will feel somewhat heavy on your face after wearing for several minutes. The goggle feature a vibrating motor and actuators that massage your face around your eyes. There are several settings meant to focus on helping you sleep, relieve headaches, or support mindfulness. I can't really tell a difference in the settings but, I will say that it feels good. It is very much a light massage around your eyes that is very relaxing. I could wear them laying down for some time and never felt soar. The goggles fold up nicely into a little pouch with a charging cable for easy storage and carrying. The battery has lasted for several uses so battery life seems great too. Overall I think these are a great product to help relieve tension and eye strain and promote an overall relaxing feeling.
