    The best coffee you will ever drink

    I've been using this machine exclusively for about a week, and since I couldn't find a single review online, I've decided to write one. First, the coffee is the best I've ever had. Part of it is the ability to make it how I want (temp, grind), but it's also a really capable machine from beautiful crema to just a hint of fine grounds at the end. Setup should be done by a professional, as you will need an electrical outlet, a plumbed water supply and a plumbed drain. You can do it with just a plug, but the machine does a lot of rinsing, so I recommend you plumb it for water and drain as well. Initial software setup is pretty easy and involves downloading an app on your phone and putting the machine on your home wifi. Open the front door and fill the hopper with 1 lb of beans. Daily use involves turning the machine on and letting it do it's first rinse. This takes about a minute, but then it stays on and ready for 15 min. Next, put your cup under the spout and lower the head down to the rim to prevent splashing. Choose your coffee (I saved a favorite called Aaron's Morning cup) and hit start. It grinds for about 5 seconds, brews for about 5 seconds and then coffee starts to come out of the 2 spouts. For an 8 oz mug of coffee, it will grind more coffee in the middle. A coffee takes between 2 and 3 minutes to make and it alerts your phone when your coffee is done. I use a large travel mug when driving, so I put a large pyrex measuring cup under the 2 spouts and tell it to make a 16 oz cup. Then I transfer that to the travel mug which is too tall to fit under the spout. There is also an option for a "double." That means you can put two mugs next to each other such that one spout is over each mug, and it will make 2 cups of coffee at the same time. I don't drink milk coffee drinks, so I don't know how well that works. The hopper holds about 10 or 12 drinks worth of coffee grounds. A final note about noise: it's really quiet. I can't think of another coffee grinder I've heard that is as quiet as this is. Cost: it's really expensive. It's hard to justify. But if you buy a lot of retail priced coffee (StarBuk$), you will pay for this pretty quickly. I would highly recommend, and if I don't take this with me when I move, I will buy one for my next house.

    Great coffee machine. Wife and I work from home, and we have had various coffee machines over the years; from a normal Mr Coffee drip pot, to a Kuerig machine, to a Mr. Coffee Cafe Barista, which is what got our appetites wet for fresh espresso and milk drinks at home! The biggest issue with any of the other machines was having to refill the water tank at least daily. Enter this beast of a machine. Obviously it's plumbed, so you never have to fill the water tank. Its also got an integrated drain, so you're never having to empty the water tank or worry about spillage when you are brewing. We've had this machine for over 2 years, got it installed in our new build. I would give it 5* but the cleaning process is a bit onerous - which honestly, should be expected. You're putting tiny ground coffee granules all over the place, with water, so it does get into all the nooks and crannies. I recommend doing the scheduled clean/descale when prompted on the screen, and doing a full system deep clean at least once every few months - where you remove the trim pieces and pull out the main mechanism that tends to get gummed up with coffee grounds (and potentially mold, depending how long you wait between deep cleans). Overall, I love this machine and wouldn't trade it out for anything. The cost is high, but if you compare the costs of these types of drinks out, at a Starbucks - the machine pays for itself within a year or less.

    Gourmet Coffee at Home!

    We are true coffee affezionatos and this machine was the perfect choice to replace an older Miele system. It’s the most used appliance in our house and our guests always ask about it. It makes a variety of drinks, including simply frothing milk and heating water. Love the WiFi and remote app custom drink features. The coffee itself is pretty impressive. You can adjust drinks including level of coffee grind. I love that it self cleans making maintenance easy. My old Miele was such a pain to maintain and Thermador is easy peasy. It’s definitely a splurge but well worth it!

    Wake up to some gourmet tasting coffee! I have stopped going to Starbucks! I have coffee twice a day on this machine and I’m practically a barista! When I get home I have 3 people waiting for me to make them their cappuccinos! Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because I hate that you have to disconnect the tubing to the milk to clean it. But it’s not a deal breaker, the amazing taste makes up for it!

    Definitely worth the extra money to be able to have great tasting fresh coffee. Makes different types of drinks, and you can get rid of all the other small countertop appliances. Definitely where people gravitate to when they visit.

    Poor quality. Steamer doesn’t work and doesn’t froth milk. I had service come out and nothing was fixed. Cleaning sensor stays on always and the Rep didn’t know how to turn it off. The Wifi that comes with the machine never has worked and the company doesn’t know when it will start working. Big thumbs down

    We purchased an entire kitchen made from Thermador at Best Buy and the entire process was a nightmare. They dont have a clue what they're doing, from sales to delivery to installation. I'm telling you, DO NOT buy high end appliances from them, you'll be sorry. Best Buy does a lot of things right, high end appliances is a business they should not be in. It's been our worst purchasing experience EVER!!

    Makes great coffee, but the 1st time it needed to go thru a clean cycle it get stuck thinking there is no water when there is. There is no reset button. After waiting 11 months for this coffee maker it is now at a local appliance shop and Thermador has no idea how to fix it.

    Great coffee maker and espresso machine...when it works. I'm waiting for the repair man this morning and this will be his 4th trip to repair this Thermador built in espresso machine. Disappointing because we're extremely happy with other Thermador products in our home.

    I’ve had it over two years but things started to break down early - brewing unit needed to be replaced twice; the drip tray drainage works poorly (hose too small and coffee grind builds up and hard to clean since it plumped), then the drip tray sensor failed just a few months after warranty. Even the repair folks couldn’t fix. I really wanted to love this beautiful looking appliance but as the saying goes, all that glitter isn’t gold. Poorly engineered and I regret buying. Thermador should really rethink and redesign this product.
