Worst Appliance Ever

1 star is too many. Every time I use this microwave a little piece of me dies. There are dials, buttons, and a touch screen and you can't do even the simplest thing without using all of them. The sounds (chimes) it makes are incredibly obnoxious and never ending. I put tape over the speaker to try and muffle them, but still bad. My goal is to one day take this thing outside and beat it with a baseball bat. If you can't tell - I don't like it.

Noisy LEMON

In addition to all the annoying noises (Thermador advertisement every time you start it up), ours has broken down multiple times in 18 months. It's in the warranty period, but service always takes at least a week, and then potentially more time while waiting for parts. Last week, the repair tech was here for the 2nd time in 2 weeks getting the conventional oven function to work. When he left, after declaring it fixed, the microwave function no longer worked. Now we're waiting for parts and more service with no functioning microwave. It broke for the first time 6 months into its life. Thermador won't replace it, despite it clearly being defective, and it's going off warranty soon. The repairs, in addition to taking weeks, are very costly too. I've had other appliances break down early in their life (LG, Breville) and those companies have honored their warranties by replacing those defective appliances. I would have more respect for Thermador and less frustration if they would do the same.

No solution to lower or mute sound level

I would not purchase this Thermador product simply because the lowest sound volume setting is so loud, and the product plays the finished sound every 15 seconds until you open the door. If you are otherwise focused on your work or, at worst, on a video call, it is very disruptive. I searched for solutions online, and many users have had limited success placing electric tape over the speakers and removing the front panel and cutting the speaker wires, which voids the warranty.

Terrible oven and even worse company

I want to love Thermador and spent $20,000 on their products for our kitchen; however their products are terrible and service is a monopoly. In the past 4mons I have had 3 service appointements to fix this $3500 appliance plus other appointments to fix the display on our range / steam oven. We’ve only had the products for less than 5 years. I won’t buy Thermador again.
