Tried three hard drives I had one worked only once then quit. The other two would not work from segate. Not sure why one was 2 terabyte and a second one was a 3 terabyte. so I'm not sure if the machines defective or all 3 hard drives don't work

This is a great,no-fuss design. Simple and easy to use and operate. Just drop in a drive and start accessing. It available in single or dual bay designs. There is a dedicated power switch with HDD activity LED and HDD eject buttons. It will suck up desk space and cord management might be a pain as it has a dedicated power cord and USB-3 cables.

My old computer crashed and I needed to remove the hard drive and recover the data. This product was easily available at my local Best Buy. Just plugged my hard drive into it then plugged it into my USB on my laptop and bam! I had full access to my old computer.

Who remembers when they upgraded a hard drive and then had to put the old drive into an enclosure? Not any more. Just slide the drive into one of two slots and lines up with the usb and power. Recognizes automatically and you can transfer documents or reuse the drive for projects or music. A must have for audio recording.

I've had a few HD docking stations which all had concerned me with their quality. Never heard of Thermaltake and didn't expect much from it. AllI wanted to do is offload data from the numerous hard drives I have laying around. I would be satisfied if it did that without issue. Did much better than I expected. Hot swapped a couple drives. accidentally dropped the unit. It kept working. Drive mounting is a bit easier than my other docking stations where I had to force the drive in sometimes. Saved a lot of time and headaches exporting data from the old drives. Paid for itself in just a day's work.

This was just what I needed to clone my old drive. I just plugged the enclosure (with the new drive in it) into my laptop, and used the software I downloaded from Western Digital to clone my existing drive before swapping. It worked perfectly!

I am in the process of evaluating the thermaltake duet drive docking station. I have been having issues when trying to format two drives at once. I have been able to view info from two drives at one. and both connections work for both 3.5 and 2.5 inch drives and sata ssds. it is not that fast when using usb2. and much slower than sata. the plastic spacer that is spring loader to cover the opening when using 2.5inch drives is not sturdy, I expect these to break in future. I would like to add more at a later date but may not be able to.

Love having 2 'internal' (*cheaper* than external) hard drives for that extra storage space. Additionally, have a HD that I use Bootcamp for my Mac for Windows. Works great, speeds are great, highly recommend. Only bad thing is its a bit bulky and a can be a pain to take with you. Also, can't use it without a plug.

I've known people to have these prdocuts in the past, I have had this product a little bit over a month now. I have been using it primarily to edit a full length feature film which contains red on mx 4.5 k raw r3d with an extremely high bit rate on standard 3.5 7200 rpm drives. This thing moves data without hitches or hangups.

I purchased this hard drive docking station to transfer the contents of the hard drive from my last computer whose motherboard had failed. It was easy to plug in and works well. There are ports to accommodate two separate drives and are easily switchable. I'm now using the station as an external storage unit.

I bought one and had connection problems. Returned the unit and decided to try a second one. It works fine now. I use the drives as backups, this way I can turn the unit off and not worry about losing my data.

Although the first few versions of this product (USB 2.0 & eSATA) had disconnect issues, the current versions (USB 3.0) are working flawlessly. If you work on computers or are an IT professional, this hard drive dock is a must have.

My old laptop gave out and had all my pictures on it. I couldn't get past a blank screen to be able to retrieve my photos. This device was able to extract them from the hard drive. I was so happy. Hopefully I will never have to use it again, but would gladly buy it a second time if my pictures were at stake.

I had recent laptop die with two 2TB hard drives, having no external storage prior to failure the docking station was a great fit to ensure a complete systems back up for replacement laptop. Works great, backed up 2 other computers by just plugging in the supplied USB cable. Nothing to install so makes for a quick job.

IT works. It's speedy. Only issue I have are some laptop hdd come with brackets that won't allow it to fit into the unit. Might recommend getting the simple cable connector over this if you plan on testing different drives on it..

Bought this to replace a 15 year old unit I had. Nice unit and works great. Put one of each size drive in or both of the same size or just one drive, turn it on and it works. Use it to save customers data during a rebuild or installing a new PC and moving data from the old drive to the new PC.

I bought this because I had an external drive crash. None of my pc's could see the drive through the OEM drive via USB. I cracked the case open, removed the drive and inserted it into the docking station. My pc was able to see the drive in RAW and I could then use recovery software to get my data.
