My computer crashed. I was lucky to be able to access the hard drive. This cradle allowed me to transfer all my data off and install it on lay new computer.

I was a able to successfully migrate my old HD to my new HD with no problem. Could have been much faster if it had a thunderbolt port, but I was patient. Turns your old drive to an external, so you can just drag and drop files as well.

Took failed GoFlex a apart put drive in this & could now use previously defunct drive. Now it serves again. Item does what it should

I purchased this to use a number of internal HDDs I had. I works right out of the box. Plug into an available USB port, drop in a Hard drive and power up. No extra software needed in Windows 10 and Linux Mint. For backing up a large hard drive on my computer and archiving large video files this has been invaluable. Saves me the need to open up my PC case to add extra storage. Works with 3.5 and 2.5 inch SATA HDD.
