Great product when it comes to cloning hard drives, is very reliable and fast transferring.

I bought this model instead of the single drive which I needed because it was on sale for the same price. I seems to be just as fast with one drive installed, but is noticeably slower with two drives. I had to clone a TiVo drive to replace one that had gone bad, so I used this instead of opening the computer. With two drives it WILL take a much longer time over the single eSATA cable. If you use the external drive in a permanent configuration I recommend a full enclosure with a fan. If it is just to read or write data / format a drive to put into a different system this is the way to go.

I purchased this to recover data files from the hard drive of my old computer that suddenly stopped working (and could not be fixed!). I plugged it into my new computer and now I have all my files! I was planning to transfer the files from my old computer to my new computer anyway, but this made it so much easier. It will also work for a laptop drive, but I haven't tried it. It is easy to use - just plug it in and insert your hard drive. The only difficult part for some people might be removing your hard drive from your computer (the tech guy at Best Buy took mine out for me when he tested my computer, but it's not too difficult to do it yourself). I would highly recommend using it for data transfer when you get a new computer!

I bought this and 2 x 1.5TB HDs just to do all my backups of my different computers. I have also used this to clone HDs while doing upgrades to my older systems. I have also used this to help my friends recover data from computers that had failures other than HDs bringing back valuable files. This is a must have for any casual computer nerd!

I bought this to transfer files from my sister in law's computer (which would not turn on) to her new computer. I know very little about the inner workings of computers, but I do know enough to get myself in trouble. Fortunately, this was so easy to use, I had no problems. Just removed the hard drive from the dead computer, plugged it into the docking station, and plugged in the USB. It worked just like any external drive (or flash drive). So happy I was able to recover the files!

This is one of the best duplicators I have ever used that wasn't commercial. This is a must for anybody wanting to upgrade their hard drive or just want to make an exactly copy of there hard drive on another drive. Very easy to use. My nieces laptops hard drive was failing and would only boot one out of twenty times. I took her hard drive and made an exact clone in about an hour, installed new clone hard drive in her laptop and puff. Good as new.

use all of your hard drives from from your upgrades or older machines. no need for a enclosure, just insert the drive, 3.5 or 2.5 or both depending on which model you purchased.

Well, for the most part it does what it's supposed to do, but I had two hard drives that I was able to access before using this dock and now I can not access either of them. I can still use it on other HDs but I think part of the "Hot Swap" feature did not work correctly and now I have two dead drives. There were no real instructions on how to properly turn on or dismount the HDs. I would still buy it again as it does make moving data across different HDs much easier.

I purchased this to provide more storage for a computer that was limited on hard drive space, and it also only had 3 USB ports .... I am able to have up to 2 3Tb drives installed with only using 1 port..... the price was so good that I'm going to buy another for another computer I have storage issue.

This Dual USB Docking Station is a great way to move, copy, load and check drives. The docking station always works and continues to work even if a failed drive has been inserted while many of the other USB Docking Stations out there will get locked up and even fail to work on that computer again.

I use two sata drives in this toaster looking technology. I got this when I tossed my desktop but didn't want to buy new externals to do a backup. I had a few setup issues with the XP/Windows 7 formatting thing, but nothing I couldn't google and resolve. I am very pleased with this device.

The Thermaltake Dual Bay Docking Station has worked flawlessly for me since I plugged the usb cable in. Adding SATA drives is as easy as dropping them in the bay. A bargain for the price. Fast delivery, arrived just as described in the ad.Overall good experience I'm sure I will be buying from Best Buy again and again.

The Thermaltake BlacX Duet is easy to use in addition to being a big time saver. You no longer have to open a PC and install that second HDD to see what is on it. Just pop it in the Duet, plug the Duet into the USB port on a PC and see what is there.

A virus infected a hard drive rendering it useless, but I was easily able to clean the HD using a different machine and this reader and retrieve important files that I would have otherwise been lost or I would have needed to pay a lot more for a third party to save them.

I bought this product after I had had several friends and family members reaching out to me with hard drive issues on their computers (I have an IT degree). I had no desktop PC at the time, so diagnosing some of the more serious problems was difficult for me. I purchased this as a way to plug 3.5" and 2.5" hard drives in to my laptop like an external drive. It has worked great for me for the last 2 years, and along with some software I have, its made diagnosing hard drive failures and other issues incredibly easy! It works well if you need to add storage to a computer that has no room inside, or need to get files from an old hard drive. This is a great product!

I have two hard drives from dead computers, and this great little "toaster" is really convenient to be able to use both of them. All you have to do is plug it into the comp, turn on the machine and it's got everything you need. Very easy to use.

This was incredible easy to setup and does exactly what it says. I considered getting the single drive version, but it was well worth getting the double. There's nothing more to setting up other than plugging in and turning on the device. You can easily put a hard drive of 3" or the smaller ones most laptops use. this is great if you have a drive that was pulled from a desktop or laptop. Additionally, there is a power switch on the device, so you can leave it plugged in to the computer all the time and use it when you want (in case you didn't want a drive mapped each time).

USB 2.0 is limiting as far as transfer speeds go but it has proved more than once to be helpful when I needed to transfer information off my old computer hard drives to my new machine.

This SATA dock provides a way to use extra hard drives you may have on hand. I had one from a Seagate portable that I needed to recover data from and use. it filled the bill. Only improvement I can think of would be if it was USB 3.0 instead of 2.0.
