I had this power supply unit (PSU) installed in my computer for only two days, and it already failed catastrophically. Last night, while I was using my computer, I suddenly heard a loud pop and immediately smelled something burning. It was alarming and quite disappointing, to say the least. This PSU is extremely unreliable and, based on my experience, I cannot recommend it to anyone.
The power supply is a critical component of any computer system, responsible for delivering stable and reliable power to all other components. When it fails, it can cause significant damage not just to itself but potentially to other parts of the computer as well. In my case, the failure of the PSU was sudden and severe, raising serious concerns about its quality and safety.
The smell of burning electronics is particularly concerning because it indicates that some component within the PSU overheated or short-circuited. Such failures can sometimes lead to fires, posing a significant hazard not only to the computer but also to the surrounding environment and anyone nearby.
When choosing a PSU, it’s essential to opt for a reliable and reputable brand known for quality and safety standards. Unfortunately, this particular PSU did not live up to those standards. If you’re in the market for a new power supply, I strongly advise looking elsewhere to avoid the risk of a similar failure.

Stopped Working after 25 days

I purchased this power supply for a GPU upgrade, and it worked well at first. However, it failed completely after just 25 days. Since Best Buy’s 15-day return window had passed, I had to go through Thermaltake’s RMA process, where I have now been waiting nearly a month with little communication and no clear update.

It died after 3 months running a AMD 6600 XT 8GB card, AMD Ryzen 7 3700X on a Asrock B450 motherboard. I’ve ran a Powerspec 550 watt PSU on a 580 OC 8GB for years, I should’ve just went to Microcenter and picked up a Powerspec 850 instead of door dashing this poor quality PSU, this has 1.2 stars on real Tech retail stores.
