First DD wheel here, and gotta say I'm pretty impressed. More feeling and feed back than ever before, the torquebis enough to make it fun but not break a thumb or wrist IMO. Great product for the money!

It is very easy to install, is resistant and has good finishes. A little big and would improve the location of the buttons. An update is needed to install the third pedal

Best wheel Ive ever used and yet it only costs a little more than a mid tier wheel like the T300 despite being twice as good (easily)
Works amazing with GT7, just make sure you update the firmware of the wheel.

Very impressive! Highly recommend (especially for PC, and now probably the best option for PlayStation) I was very surprised by the power, feedback, and most importantly the smoothness of this T598. Perfect for racing and drifting! This is far superior to a G29 at a similar price point and most definitely worth the upgrade!

Products needs some updating. Tends to run a bit warm while using. Updating firm ware has become a task. Even downloading the app no update pops up yes there is an update 2.07 currently. Mine is running 1.83 still a value easy to use.

Pedals are a bit too close together but good for bundle price. Wheel itself is a much better (bigger) size than the g29 and smooth movement. It has a feature that creates force feedback whenever you shift up or down using the paddles and it is a really cool immersion feature! I like this better than Moza R5!
Hello, thank you for your feedback! Pedalset included with the Thrustmaster - T598 steering wheel is a new evolutionary model, add-ons will be released later to allow more customization. Significant upgrade from the old gear driven wheel and the included pedals were a nice surprise for their quality and functionality. Installation process was step-by-step with clear instructions that made it the simplest tech install I've ever done.

Overall, it’s a great option for casual and intermediate racers who want a reliable wheel without spending a ton. The only cons is that i had to update firmware with a pc, the unit is a bit bulky, and the stock wheel is not pretty.

Beats the absolute heck out of my G29. Very strong, fast, and quiet. Petals could use an upgrade, but are really well built. Only issue I have is it constantly slightly vibrates when turned on.

A perfect price for a direct drive wheel. For my first DD wheel, I’m impressed. It’s a little taller than expected, but worth it. Happy with the purchase.

Really enjoying this wheel from thrustmaster. Coming from a g29 this is a big upgrade. The firmware update was quick and easy but you do need a PC. I play soley on PS5 and with using the recommended settings on the support page i get strong and detailed feedback. Another thing i really enjoy is how quiet the wheel is, its near silent with some electrical whines and chirps.
Hello, thank you for your feedback! The Thrustmaster T598 steering wheel does indeed use passive cooling, allowing the base to remain silent during play. Sébastien from the Thrustmaster team.

This direct drive wheel has much more force feedback than the Thrustmaster T248. When mounted to a wheel stand the vibration when shifting feels great. Turning is incredibly smooth. My only knock against it is some of the buttons being difficult to reach, but that's more of an issue in the menus than it is when driving (in Gran Turismo 7 at least). Would highly recommend to anyone on PS5 upgrading from a gear/belt driven wheel who doesn't want to spend $700 for a Fanatec DD wheel or $1300+ for a Logitech DD wheel.
Hello, thank you for your feedback! We have a large number of wheels in our eco-system, allowing you to customize your installation according to your preferences. Don't hesitate to try your steering wheel with another wheel. Sébastien from the Thrustmaster team.

Don't buy gear driven or belt driven and spend 350. For 500 you get direct drive that's smoother and will last a lot longer.

Best Racing wheel for PS5. Great response and Force Feedback.

I’m coming from G923 and I like how much more responsive the T598 is. I can correct my mess ups much more effectively and prevent spin outs (I am not that very good and only race single player). I can definitely feel the weight of the wheel around corners.
I tried GT7, ACC, Wreckfest, and Dirt 4 with a few different settings on the wheel. I liked the FFB-2 setting the most on the wheel. It was in D (Default) at first and FFB in GT7 felt very light. Overall, GT7 felt the weakest compared to other games I tried and least optimized for the wheel, which is sad - as that’d be the game I’d use it the most. That said, it didn’t have the oversteering issue I have on G923, and I didn’t have to correct myself all the time. That is a huge plus.
I have also tried Moza R3 a couple months ago and I did really like it. I played Forza Motorsport 8 on it and again Dirt 4, and Forza Horizon 4 & 5. That one sells for $100 less and it’s around 3Nm. But, that’s only XBox and I like GT7 more than FM8 at this time. And Force horizon doesn’t work too well with wheels in my opinion. It seems to be more made for controllers.
Lastly, the mounting holes on the wheel base and the adapter TM provides doesn’t match up with my Insignia wheel stand (basic wheel stand).
In summary, despite the short comings, I like the T598, and in many aspects it is a good upgrade to G923 (~$300), and it has great potential. But it’s a shame Thrustmaster and Polyphony has not optimized it for GT7 BEFORE they released this wheel- since PS5 has very limited direct drive wheel options.
Hello, thank you for your feedback, and we greatly appreciate your comments! As the T598 uses a new technology, called Direct Axial Drive, in-game integration may take some time for the developers of the various games. We recommend that you update your games as soon as new versions are available. Sébastien from the Thrustmaster team.
