Pretty good shifter for the money my TH8A shifter broke so I decided to get this instead

This product is worth buying. Really takes ps5 vr2 driving to the next level. Gear box feels like a real stick shift.

Got this for my son for his birthday along with the wheel. He loves them.

Perfect addition to the T248 Steering Wheel and Pedals. The experience within Forza and other race sim games is amazing.

Not good, cheap plastic; when I opened it out of the box, it was already broken; the red gear strip at the top came right off. I do not recommend this product. I returned it the same day it was shipped to me.

So far, I have utilized this shifter within multiple racing games and found that the TH8S shifter is a excellent addition to your Thrustmaster racing wheel setup. The 8-position gated shifter allows for fast, smooth and accurate gear selection of the 7 forward gears and reverse gear. The build quality is what you expect from Thrustmaster, the metal shift lever and ergonomic grip feels great in the hand. Mounting is simple and yet feels very secure. You have two connection options USB and DIN which makes the shifter compatible with Thrustmasters force-feedback racing wheels. With the types of casual racing games, I play and enjoy, it is my opinion, that I'm not sure how much longer these types of add-ons will be necessary now that most modern cars are moving to paddle shifters, but it is nice to have for those classic cars, rally, NASCAR game whose vehicles still utilize a manual shifter. With that I would still definitely recommend this shifter to any casual racing game enthusiast.

I’m not a Sim racing fanatic. I have a G29 with Logitech G Shifter and decided to give this one a whirl for my PC setup. Thrust Master has always seemed like the slightly more expensive brand, in my opinion, so I have stuck with Logitech since I (on and off) started in on the hobby a couple of decades ago. The first thing that struck me was how it felt like a lot of plastic, which in fairness seems equivalent to the Logitech G Shifter. Price is about the same but in my head, I might have been expecting too much. The next thing that’s obvious is that there are seven speeds plus reverse. A whole extra gate! What I really didn’t like though is that the gaps are visible so any dust, debris, or crumbs will fall in between the slots. On the Logitech, the (cheap and thin) leather-y material comes up to the shifter knob and surrounds the shifter, which prevents any dust from falling anywhere. For compatibility, the shifter uses a USB-C or Thrustmaster round plug, which gives it compatibility with any mismatched gear on PC (but not console). I tried. And it doesn’t work with PlayStation or Xbox as of this writing. All in all, it feels about the same as the Logitech in terms of throw and overall quality. All of the cheap shifters feel loose to me. I prefer the feel of the ball shifter on the Logitech. The clamp holds the shifter to my rig just fine even though it’s plastic, and the whole package is a perfect example of “you get what you pay for” in the sim racing world. I’d probably get the Logitech if I could only pick one but the compatibility with any wheel/pedal setup here is the main draw for PC users.

I am extremely impressed with how well made this shifter is. Surely feels like driving a manual transmission. Gear shifting accurately mirrors real life driving and it's fairly responsive. I like the tactile feedback, it really adds to the immersive experience of sim racing. Compatibility is nice, specifically the USB-C slot. The shifter knob is indeed ergonomic, it feels comfortable to use and easy to grip. The short stem lever is a great feature, super precise for nailing gear shifting and you feel like you’re in a Fast & Furious movie. The clamp is easy to install when mounting, no extra tools required and it allows for customization of setup. I am a little worried about longevity because the material is mostly plastic but so far it’s been sturdy and durable. I think it could use a little design tweaking without compromising the overall quality of the shifter. Maybe more color options for users to choose from for personalization? Just my opinion of course. Still, I am greatly satisfied and it certainly improved my sim racing experience. I think it is a valuable addition to my setup especially when you consider its price.

Summary ------- A good value shifter for use with a variety of devices - PC, PS5, XBOX etc. The shifter can be attached to a table for grip and works pretty good. The plastic feels a little cheap but it is a functional shifter and a good one for the price Pros ---- 1. Cheaper than many other shifters in market 2. Supports type c and DIN , which means it can be compatible with many devices 3. Can be adjusted for tightness of shifting Cons ---- 1. feels a bit cheap 2. Would have preferred a better knob Ful Review ---------- basically this shifter is a plug and play. THe shifter knob can be replaced by popping the cap on top and unscrewing the knob but for this price i really wont bother doing anything like that. I played with GT7 , and works only with cars with a stick shifter. There are 7 gears and a reverse. Overall i found the shifter to be very responsive. I used this by connecting this shifter to my wheelbase and the combination works perfectly You can also use the USB type c connector to connect to a PC which iw as not able to test. Overall i think its a great purchase for the price
