I purchased this as an open box for just shy of $20. I have a pair of small EPOS bookshelf speakers that weigh less than 8lbs. The brace is made out of a molded plastic that broke from the wall mount the 1st week. The weight limit on the box states that it can hold up to 10lbs. This particular set did not. After it scared me half to death falling off the wall 3 am in the morning, I removed the opposite mount and saw that it too was cracking like a dry rotting tire. Maybe it would be perfect for some extremely light speakers.
