Highly recommend!

I bought it for a second car and am so far very satisfied. Daytime colors are a bit hard to see while wearing sunglasses. All in all I am satisfied with the unit. Have not had opportunity to use the traffic alerts yet but I expect it will be fine.

I've owned a Tom Tom previously and I like the free map updates. However, it would be good to have a quick simple button to navigate HOME. You have to go through a couple touches/menus to get to HOME in your favorite places. Most GPS units have a simple touch button to go home of the main screen.

Producr appeares brand new, yet the battery is never lasting longer than 35-40 min. Traffic requires you to use your cellphone. Why????? All features should be within the item or otherwise label it correctly. Even with updated maps my address in nyc does not show up even if i search with various parameters. I do have to admit that it works ok for a few destinations i have used it with so far. I had to have it powered from the cigarette lighter socket and have my cellphones Bluetooth enabled and signed up for an app that you must download. I am not satisfied in any case nor have i expected this result from an industry leader like TomTom. Next purchase may not be from TomTom.

Posted .Hi useroftom9, I am sorry to read that your Go 50 has not entirely matched your expectations. I would like to clarify some issues that you have raised. Other than the GO 5000 and 6000, all GO devices are "smartphone connected" and labeled as such.
We stand behind our decision to make real time Traffic available through smartphone. Our research has shown that a high percentage of drivers already have smartphones and a data connection. Our real time traffic technology enables us to deliver high levels of both road coverage and accuracy. We ensure that the data connection has minimal impact on the phone's battery and data consumption by running substantial tests.
As for the battery life – I have not enough information to comment on what might cause your device to lose charge so quickly. Good product, a little confusing.

It can be a little confusing though at first, doesn't seem to be as user friendly as their previous models. But the lifetime map updates is nice and it's still a nice product overall.

It responds slow when programming. I had another tomtom that had an option to avoid road blocks which was great! This one doesn't :( my old one just quit working and thought this was a step up but feels more like a step back

It gets me to where I need to go and the other functions make it just that more great.i've used it several times and it hasn't given me any issues or troubles it's always worked fine work fast.
