    Poor User Interface

    I had a great difficulty getting this Garmin to respond to my directions to find an address in Orlando FL when it tried to take me to somewhere near Chicago. It also used Indiana as HOME rather than Pensacola FL where I was. Once it could be redirected to the correct location, it seemed to behave well, except for missing the main junction home and taking me about ten miles out of my way. I had to set it at maximum volume to hear it and it would stick to the dashboard so my passenger had to hold it when we approaching a major decision point. In all, very disappointing.

    I have owned this GPS for 6 months. Somewhat disappointed in maps as it frequently does not recognize street addresses. Very poor signal reception - I can sit at a point of origin for 5-10 minutes before it finds a reliable signal and I've driven for up to 15 miles before it finds a reliable signal. Purchased it to replace a worn out Garmin and it does not compare.

      To improve your GPS satellite acquisition we recommend plugging into your PC every few days... we update with QuickGPSFix each time you connect to give the VIA a head start on searching the sky for satellites. This will also let you update the maps, which you have a lifetime subscription to for updates!

    dead ends?!

    Small, compact. Good feature of having announce road names. We often get taken down obscure roads that end up as dead ends, especially when using the search option for restaurants. Have always used Garmin, but tried for the slightly lower price. Will probably go back to Garmin when I buy the next model.

    I prefer another leading brand which I foolishly replaced with this brand. Used this on a recent trip, and it was not straightforward to use when seeking nearby "points of interest," such as rest areas and restaurants. Frustrating when you are in a new location and the driver is asking the navigator, "Which way?!"

    I've had this GPS for a little over a month and it has stopped working properly. It's no longer keeping up with me as I drive, and it isn't finding the address I enter. It just keeps saying trying to connect to the satellite.

    gps worked great in the state I live in ....I traveld to NYC and the gps didn't work getting me out of the airport and to my destination...I drove in the city for approx. an hour then my iPhone got me to my location....

    Salesman wrote down how to use this GPS but did not work for me?? Tried two times but did not work. I will buy one where they can show me how to set it up IN THE CAR. Not on the sales desk in the store??

    Terrible Navigation

    The GPS on this device is terrible and can never seem to find my location or the address I am heading to. I purchased this as a replacement for my phone, and it was completely useless.

    this product dosent work in Puerto Rico. Also suppose to work i. Mexico but when i travel there the gps never connect

    Gps was athe least 2 miles off had us taking exits that we wasn't on yet. Saying turn on certain streets but the streets were still a mile or two away. Got lost once

      Hi there, we're really sorry to hear that you had some trouble with your VIA. I agree, it sounds like the GPS was not quite up to scratch. Sometimes if your device has been in storage for a long time it may find it difficult to locate the satellites but, after a quick update normally that should be straightened out. These updates are really important and help your device know where the the six satellites most recent location was (thus, a quicker more reliable connection).

      I'd just like to confirm, have you tried updating at all to see if this has improved anything?
      If you have and your still not having much luck, or you need help updating, let me know I've got some more handy tips I'd be more than happy to share with you.

    Bought it, and it won't work when plugged into cigarette lighter..says it wants to shut off... have to plug it into my USB port on car. Directions aren't clear on setup

    It’s not a huge gps. It takes a while for satellite to kick in but other then the much needed being patience part, it’s a good plan b

    Have been using Garmin for a while and switched to this product for trial. Didn’t find it user friendly and had to return for refund

    I didn't like this product. The screen is not good and it is not user friendly. Even the GPS on your mobile app is better than this TomTom GPS.
