I would have preferred the TomTom with the larger display. Bought one but battery would not charge, and Best Buy only had this model when we returned. Works well, though, and software was easy to update.

Just competed a 3,000 mile trip. Never let me down once. Wish I would have chosen the Traffic update service. The Washington Beltway should be avoided. TomTom worked great. Made it there and back with no real problems with the TomTom.

During a trip is a trip and utilizing a rental car found that GPS was a necessity.. My parents are not the best with their smartphones but having this little GPS do the work for them definitely paid off mentally paid off. The only coni can speak to is we are very spoiled with our smartphones that navigate very quickly, So if you are used to fast interfaces you will not like this as it feels clunky. The interface is not as intuitive as I would like.

I bought this to replace my old TomTom that was no longer supported even though it still worked. Took a little bit to learn the SLIGHTLY different format. I miss the dots on the roadway that marked off your progress in 1/10th mile increments. The exit windows are much clearer now than before. The right hand side of the screen has a total progress bar that I'm not sure I like but haven't played with it enough to get rid of it. The TomTom does one thing but it does it really well. I prefer it over the built in navigation in my truck or phone.

I like Tom Tom GPS units. My only problem with this unit, I have to keep picking the city. My older unit did it automatically. Other then that is a great unit.

Needed to upgrade my old TomTom which i bought in 2010, and what a wonderful buy. It is a little difficult with a different interface, so it takes a little usage to get used to. But its great with auto-updates on informing me about road issues. It is NOT for live traffic, but will get you to your destination by the fastest route. Screen is smaller which i was a little disappointed. Overall, very happy with the upgrade.

I am a postal worker and a delivery driver for pizza and this gps is worthless. I always went with tomtom before because they were quick and simple and this is horrible!!! Like they tried to copy google maps and epically failed. Literally takes 3 full minutes to put in a address. I can take a pizza and be back by then. If your gonna try to copy google maps at least be smart like it but no same old slow system put in state then city then street and then number. Never even saves anything. I would have gladly gave 150 for a new old tomtom. Now I am about ready to chuck this in the trash!!! Please make simple and quick. I don’t need a this complicated. Only reason 2 stars is cheap and turns on from there on out is crap!

Bought this to replace an old tom tom that was not being supported anymore with updates. Am I glad I got this, it's got great improvements from the old one and better maps. Only thing to claim that could be a problem is to make sure your route is the one you want before accepting it. Coming back from Chicago and it wanted us to go thru Canada, not along the US side - was the quickest route - needed the US side - but very happy with it.

I really love this GPS. It really was a life saver for me when I was working the US Census. I still use it now and it is the most accurate one that I've had. Love it. Great quality, great price and the technician did a marvelous job installing it in my vehicle.

Have a Kawasaki 1700 Voyager GPS stuck right to windshield did not come off for over 2000 miles. Worked great battery life is not long. Mine lasted 1hr 45mins. But keeping it plugged in was a quick fix. Easy Navigation screen low cost make it a great buy.

I haven't really used this GPS to get anywhere yet, but I've tried it out. The attachment for the windshield seems a lot better than the large suction cup that was on my previous TomTom. The old one fell off the windshield if you hit a bump in the road and usually ended up on the floor of your car. This one has a base that you place against the windshield and rotate the base to attach it. There is also a circular plate that can be attached (glued) to the dash for the GPS to be attached to. Adjusting the base of the GPS can be pretty tricky when trying to get the face of the unit to point toward yourself while driving. Don't wait until you need to use it to work with the base to figure how to rotate it the way you want it. Even the instructions aren't that helpful when trying to do this. Having one cable to use to connect the unit to a UBS port and then a cigarette plug that the UBS plg plugs into is a good way to lose the cigarette plug when not using it.

We haven't been on a long trip with it, but other than being totally different to program than my old 550 tom tom, it seems to work very well. I do wish it was easier to change volume level.
I hope the "lifetime" map upgrades are a reality because I have two model 550 tom tom's I purchased from Best Buy and they are no longer supported by Tom Tom.....well so much for "lifetime" I guess that means until they decide otherwise!

Had older model that would not lifetime update anymore. 75 years old and need the speech to help navigate freeway off ramps before to be in correct lane. Older model was 5 star this is slow to respond to tap's on screen to ALL instructions and harder to input information. Does not switch to freeway interchange larger view{ as shown } like older model did when close to interchange just the top little arrow's .. Overall still better then cell phone directions that you have to LOOK AT the VOICE instructions help you watch traffic and be in correct lane before exit TOM TOM should be ashamed to not keep the better quality and responce as older model with lifetime update that is limited time and now worthless
