It's okay if your not expecting bass, but overalll you can play on a USB, Bluetooth, CD's and etc. Appearance is top notch with side woofers to give it quality sound & interchangeable LED's.

Got this from one of the San Francisco California stores. It gets an A for variety of input sources -- you can play USB, SD card, BT, Aux, FM, and CDs. But considering its size (19 inches long), it should put out more bass. It has 2 speakers on the front and a passive radiator on each side. They all work, but bassheads will be disappointed. Plus the pictures make it seem like the front speakers are nice shiny metal discs, but actually they don't look like that at all. They're just dull silver-painted nylon or polyurethane cones. There are LED lights mounted in front of them, and you can pick one of 7 different colors. Unfortunately those lights just flash a fixed pattern, they don't beat to the music. So what's the point? Anyway, it sounds fairly good when playing generic pop music, and it gets loud, but if you're a basshead, it will disappoint. The bass doesn't make itself known until you crank it up too loud for comfort. For that reason I think it's best-suited for a big garage or shop where loud volume is more important than bass, rather than a bedroom where the opposite is true. If you want deep, room-filling bass at low volumes, get an old JVC Kaboom from the 90s.

All in all, I'm happy with my purchase for this price. This unit checked all the boxes I wanted: Bluetooth, CD player, USB connection, and FM radio. (If you can't tell, I'm in my mid-30s so these things still matter to me.) Also a bonus it comes with a remote, which I haven't tried yet. The first unit I received was defective, which I believe was a shipping issue - but still was a disappointment after waiting for it to ship. Probably took a hard hit with a careless shipper. The LCD screen display had about 10-15 dead areas, so you had to really work to read everything. The sound also wasn't that great. I returned it and got another one, and thankfully this one is back to normal. For the size of this, I think it's got really great sound and can get very loud without getting distorted. I haven't even tested it higher than like 75% because it's so loud! I like to use the Rock music function, as it helps give a better sound. I think some of the few lesser reviews comes from the fact that you have to keep your expectations in check. My husband and I are used to really good sound systems in our cars and our living room TV is hooked to a 5.1 surround sound with subwoofer. Our computer speaker system also has a subwoofer. So you cannot look at a boom box and go "Oh my gosh, how does this not have bass?" Because it's a boom box. I'm still trying to figure out the USB functionality in terms of using with an MP3 player (yes, I still have my old iPod). I can plug in my iPod via an iPod/USB cable, and this unit can access the music on it, but there's no ability to access playlists that live on it (I don't think). It puts my iPod into a sort of charging/standby mode that means I can't press anything on its screen to get to the playlists or make any selections. All I can do is control it on the Toshiba - press play and skip to next tracks. So that's kind of a bummer to not even be able to search or play a playlist. Kind of makes the whole thing pointless if this will be the case. I still need to play around with it some more. I know it seems silly to want this in the "we play music on our phones now" era, but my iPod memory is HUGE so I have exponentially more music on there than I could ever fit on my phone, even with an SD card expander! My only actual complaint about this item is the lights. Your only option is to have them flash. How stupid is that. They can be changed to lots of awesome colors, but there's no option to make it just stay solid. The flashing is beyond annoying, so that feature is a total loss in my book. I just turn them off. (Note that if you turn the lights off then unplug the unit for any reason, the lights come back and you have to turn them off again, which takes a while to do because OFF is the last option you have to cycle all the way to. Poorly designed.) Oh, as others have mentioned, the unit isn't super stable either. It definitely can kind of roll, so maybe be careful where you intend to put this, especially if you have kids or pets that could knock it off balance.

I was looking for a boombox that had good volume and this fits the bill. Many boomboxes are so lightweight, but this one has a substantial feel and does not feel cheap and lightweight. The operation is easy . The CD has bluetooth and USB capabilities which I haven't used, but I plan to use in the future. It is a good value for the money.

I really wanted to love this little unit. It is adorned with numerous ways to accommodate your music... USB, CD, Radio, Bluetooth, line in and it all works... easily. (The disco lights are a bit much but you can stop them from cycling). All in all a cool looking music box too. However, the sound is a bit tinny and there is little bass. I guess Toshiba didn't get the message. (It's a BOOM box). Luckily there is some EQ. Set it on Jazz or rock and leave it. I like this thing and it does get a bit loud for like... in the kitchen during a party. Still it is a cool little unit as stated and worth the price I paid for it... I just wish they would have left some more Boom in the box. (More bass).

I love the design and features of this boombox, but for any audiophiles, you might want to skip. Even after changing all the possible EQ presets, the majority of the sounds are tinny with very little bass. I'm not big on bass, but when volume is raised it just sounds only a step above a alarm clock radio. Because of the remote, functions and ease of use I'm going to recommend this. If you're just wanting to listen to music, then go right ahead cause it suffices, but if you're wanting a well rounded professional sound look elsewhere.

Overall: I really like this boombox. It offers all the essential functions and great quality sound at a good price. I would definitely buy this product again and recommend this to anyone looking for a great boombox. Pros: This boombox offers several different inputs (Bluetooth, USB, memory card, and line in) as well as a FM/AM turner and CD functions. It has great quality sound. It is fairly compact and is not too heavy. Cons: The display is a bit small and isn't bright enough to view easily even when inside. You better have great eyesight or be real close to view the display outside. The flashing seven-color disco lights are a novelty at best; not what I thought it would be. The lights can change color but basically just turn off and on.

I'm an "older" person who originally wanted "just" a CD player. I'm so happy with this one! CD player and radio (which actually picks up the stations I like!). It also has the capability for blue tooth, which I've taken advantage of, and other capabilities that I've not used. The sound quality is great for a small player, and it's easy to use.

This is a really nice machine. The sound is great, and has tons of features. And it is compact in size.

It's very loud I like the radio I like the shape it's well made, I don't have any bad ill of this item it's awesome.

Great buy. Nice update to old style player. Solid build. Bit fiddly to figure out how to stop lights from flashing and know how loud you have volume set as works from small screen. Haven't tried bluetooth but glad it has option. Would reccomend.

Love this stereo. Seems it is very hard to find a portable stereo these days. Hard to find one on display anywhere. For that reason reading this review is important. This is perfect for the beach, back yard, garage or the house. You will not be disappointed. I highly recommend this boom box.

My teacher loved this.... plays here cds, ipod and radio stations for the students. Kids love the lights and sounds great!

Portable w/ D batteries: great if power outage. Has good clarity for home-office usage with CD option vs radio. But do not care for the colored lights feature....always turn them off. Not awkward or heavy to carry to the patio or wherever....top handle or end handles.

Excellent item. It plays multiple media in multiple media sources, CD with MP3, thumbdrives with mp3 music and is bluetooth capable for those that use smartphone to carry or access their music.

Great overall sound for the small size. Love the CD player and Bluetooth connection!

My wife is a teacher and uses this for school. Item exceeded our expectations. Sounds great compared to the cheap CD player this item replaced. Kids love the LED colors.

This is a middle of the range boom box to listen to CD's with. But it can do much more with bluetooth, SSD, with wireless remote. The sound quality is middle of the road more treble than bass. Less than $100 made this a great purchase.

LOVE IT !!!!! It’s a bit heavier than I thought it would be, But, the sound is great, it’s plenty loud, and I love all the input choices.

This is just what we needed for the warehouse, I catch everyone singing along with the radio. Has great sound, didn’t realize you can change tone and that it was Bluetooth. Great item. Caught it on sale also, thanks Best Buy.
