Bought this on sale for my mother-in-law as a present. The picture was great and everything worked great. A bit of advice for those who want to buy hi-tech TVs for the elderly: Tape up all the buttons they will not use. And, as for the Alexa remote... Take the batteries out and don't set it up. But, if you're younger and tech-savvy, go for it. The Alexa remote is awesome. I ended up putting it in a box to keep my mother-in-law from using it... Though I think most folks will not have to do that. Overall, a great value. Bought this on sale for $300. For that price, this was an excellent TV. Highly recommend.

After returning a JVC bought elsewhere because of the picture quality, we bought the 43" Toshiba. The picture is good and the alexa feature is nice. However, the tv comes on after turning it off. It may do this several times before finally staying off. In addition, it has lost internet connection several times (other devices still connected). We purchased a 5 year policy from the Geek squad. They have already been there 3 times to fix it, but it still does the same thing. I think it is about time for Best Buy to replace it.

My first 4K TV and first off the discount prince was perfect for me. I'm picky about these. The setup was easy with the feet. Not a surprise, the update took a while. The biggest reason for purchasing this is because on the remote, there are shortcut buttons for Amazon, Netflix, and most importantly my PlayStation Vue channels. The PS Vue controls takes a little getting used to but once figured out it's easy. It's also just as easy telling Alexa to change the channels or switch between the apps. I enjoy it and the picture is good as well. I also have it hooked up to my sound system through the sound out port.

After thoroughly researching features and prices, I purchased this Toshiba TV with no hesitation - and, believe me, it has not disappointed. If anything, it has more than exceeded my expectations! A crisp, clear picture, with eye popping, vivid colors, beautiful audio, a very intuitive user interface, super easy setup, Fire TV built in, voice controlled remote, Alexa everything - and all this for a mind boggling price. Color me one VERY happy camper!!!

    "Nice 4k Fire Tv"

I'll start by saying that i buy this 43" fire tv 4k cause it was on sale for $199.99 and to me it was a good deal. However, this tv was for my 5 year old daughter and 43" was a little big for her room and also a little complicated for her to use, but i decided to give it a try since it was a 4k tv and the price was less than other smaller 1080p tvs. But, to be honest I did not see the 4k quality and i tried playing 4k shows. The Alexa feature is really nice and the volume too but I decided to return it and got me a 40" 1080p that looks way better and i got it cheaper also on a weekend event deal.

Got this on sale for $199. For that price, great deal. Used as a master bedroom tv. We love Amazon and use Hulu for our live TV service, so built in Fire TV was the main draw. It is plenty large enough for our bedroom without being too large. Don't expect the darkest blacks, but outside of that the picture quality is what you would expect from a basic 4k tv. Easy setup and has Alexa voice remote. Sound won't blow you away, but perfectly adequate for the price point. 5 stars for overall quality to price ratio. 4 stars if you don't care about price.

One look at the 2160p screen convinced me to upgrade from my 1080p TV. I had no preference, pro or con, about Fire TV built-in. Set up was a snap, and on-screen instructions when first started went error-free and easily. My single caveat is the remote lacks digit buttons, so voice-command using Alexa wll be needed if I someday use an antenna. My connections are with cable and for Internet, so my cable box remote with digit buttons contiues in use, as with my previous TV. Everything else is simply A-1, top notch, supremo. A great sale deal.

Got this as a replacement for an LG 4K that died for no apparent reason. Easy to set up and colors are great. I did the set up based on setting recommendations that I found online. I needed 3 HDMI ports and several of the others that I looked at in this price range only had 2 ports. Only draw back that I have found is that it always wants to start in the Fire TV mode and I have to switch to other ports. Not a problem for my use but does require an extra step if you wanted to default to one of the HDMI ports.

Have had this tv for a couple of weeks now. I really enjoy this tv. Nice clear picture. Have figured out how to remedy a few problems some have encountered. One was my tv can turn on automatically to hdmi 1 and I am able to use my cox remote with no problem. I purchased this because I am a prime customer and it works nice. Only ninch I have observed is the audio volume is not consistent sometimes the sounds are louder than other times I use this. Other than that I am really enjoying this tv. Would recommend this tv.

The first couple times I used this tv it worked okay. Then every time I turned it on, it would say it was disconnected from the internet and would tell me to reconnect. But no matter what button I pressed, it wouldn’t do anything...just frozen. So I’d have to restart the whole tv system usually 3-4 times to get it to let me connect to the internet. Every time I’d turn it on, it would take 45 min just to get it to work. Ridiculous. I returned it and got a tcl Roku tv and it works SO much better.

Smart 4K HDR TV on a Budget

I was looking for an affordable Smart 4K TV this holiday season and was surprised to find a budget Alexa controlled Toshiba Fire TV on sale on Black Friday for less than $150. Considering that I already have several Amazon devices around the house that answer to Alexa voice control, this TV filled my system to a T. It doesn't have the best picture (lacks local dimming, or Dolby Vision) or framerate(at only 60hz rather than 120) or support for features I was looking for( like Free Sync, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, etc.) but it is the best fit for me at a budget I am more than satisfied with.

This 43” is a great modern TV for anywhere, particularly bedrooms or similar size spaces. 4K, HDR 10 (compatible with Xbox One X and the go-to HDR standard as of now), Dolby Surround speakers built-in, AND Fire TV (not stick) built-in also! Love the FireTV interface, smoothness, functionality, and voice remote which gets it’s own remote updates right through this wi-if TV. 1080p and 4K HDR both look great, crisp colors and blacks are good. Sound is good. Xbox One X gaming is perfect, 4K HDR games look realistic! At the sale price it’s untouchable by any other 43” TV when comparing the features and performance!!!

Got it mounted and hooked up and discovered the provided instructions are sorely lacking in detail. Took too long to determine how to switch from the Smart TV function to the HDMI 2 cable input. Not even sure if the way I'm doing it is correct but it works. And the TV always comes on in the Smart mode. Maybe when I go to Toshiba's website I can find some more detailed info. Wished I had located the Power/Input button on the back of the TV before I mounted it because the picture sure doesn't show it. But the TV has a great picture and acceptable sound.

We have been trying to make our home more user friendly and smarter. Adding this TV, especially at a price point that a person could afford to make a mistake, was a step in that direction. Although I was initially hesitant about going with a TV with pre-loaded features, I have found this one to be easy to set up, and customizable to our viewing preferences. My wife likes the easy-to-use voice remote, and finding shows she likes without having to scroll through all the channels; I just have to get used to her talking to the TV. :-)

I love the brilliance and resolution of this TV! TV sound is wonderful and doesn't require speakers as far as I'm concerned but I did purchase a sound bar speaker same day for the TV and the Audio In jack doesn't sync well - that played into why I gave it 4 stars. In all other respects this is a great TV and fairly simple to understand. TV is especially great for Amazon Prime folks. I'm not with Amazon Prime so some of the featured options aren't available to me and it seems like I'm missing out on things since they are shown. That also played into my 4 star rating.

The price is what ultimately got me to purchase this TV. Overall I feel it is a very good buy for TV in a bedroom. I didn't realize that it was a Fire TV edition, so it took me a little longer than usual to start using it. I still have to use three different remotes (TV, Cable, and sound bar) to work it, but I have been known to be technically challenged. If there is a way to combine them please let me know. I very pleased with the picture and sound quality from the TV is not bad either.

I bought this television because it was "The Fire Edition", and, the price was right. I took it home and set it up. While I was watching the Kansas City Chiefs play the Indianapolis Colts I noticed that some of the action on the field was not being properly displayed on the screen. I looked at the carton and to my dismay I saw that the refresh rate was 60 Hz. I called Best Buy and explained my dilemma and asked if I could return the item and get a "better" one? I was advised as long as I had the receipt... yes I could. which I did.

The TV was very nice looking and big, but the picture wasn't very good compared to our 1080p tv. We bought it for the 4k for mainly xbox game to look better and they looked worse it after adjusting a bunch of settings it looked a bit better still to dark in my opinion I like my screens bright and crisp. But regardless I do enjoy the TV and the apps that allow me to watch free TV shows and movies. I wouldnt get this TV for better picture for games unless you have games that are made for 4k it made all the regular games look kinda bland.

This TV was purchased for gaming in a fairly small space, so the size is perfect. The picture quality is amazing, especially with the PS-4. Even the other game machines look phenomenal. And with built-in streaming services like NetFlix, Hulu, and Prime Video it's really amazing and works very well over WiFi with no drops or degradation of picture quality. I purchased this TV on sale for $199. It replaced a Toshiba 37" 720p TV that was purchased for about $600 in 2008. If this TV lasts half that long, it will be worth every penny.

I really want to like this TV. I do like how easy it is to find shows, use 1 remote, and how good the sound is. However, the picture is dull. I’ve tried all the built-in options for preset picture quality, spent a day with the custom settings, but the colors aren’t close to as vivid as my Samsung that this was going to replace. For what it’s worth, my 55 inch Toshiba (2 years old; not smart) has a much better picture than this new one. I’m going to be returning it.
