It's a serviceable TV and does all the things a smart TV does like streaming, apps, only that it does not have native YouTube due to licensing, as I understand. The quaility is good but nothing excellent about it. If you are very demanding and knowlegeable about resolution, types of panels, response times, view angles, I wouldn't recommend it, but if you are looking for a cheap basic TV and it's in your price range, go for it

I bought this for my office and to take advantage of the built-in Alexa voice commands. Voice works well using remote. Connecting to my Alexa Dot had a few hiccups but works well once set up. Picture quality is average with poor viewing angle visibility.

Use in my workout room. Fine picture and sound. Easy set up. I like the "natural" picture setting. I use it with a Roku and it was easy to set the TV to always start on HDMI1. So now I just use the Roku remote. Only downside is the loss of color at higher viewing angles.

Budget TVs have to cut some corners, and this one is no different. Compared to high-end models the picture is washed out, degrades badly when viewed from an angle, and isn't that bright, but considering its price it really isn't bad. And the interface is surprisingly quick for a budget model. The picture quality is just okay. And it calls itself HDR even though it'sn't really. It may accept an HDR signal, but it just doesn't have enough brightness or contrast to reproduce an HDR signal even close to faithfully. But, again, for the price it'sn't a bad TV. And compared to others in its target audience, it's probably one of the best choices out there.

I got this TV on sale to replace a 40" Toshiba HD TV in the bedroom. The features were nice and I liked the voice activated remote, but ultimately it is a TV and the picture has to be good. The picture quality on this TV was FAR inferior to my 10-year old standard 1080 HD set. Toshiba is no longer Toshiba - literally. It's now made by Chinese TV manufacturer Hisense and the picture quality is sub-par in several ways. Most notably, the off-angle viewing suffers terribly. Once you move as little as 30 degrees off direct center viewing (either horizontally or vertically) the picture dims noticeably. Brightness and clarity seem to diminish as much as 50% at angles greater than 60 degrees! This is not the case in reputable brand TV's. I guess you do "get what you pay for". It's too bad Fire TV has not yet partnered with a high-quality TV manufacturer like Sony, LG or Samsung. Until then I'd recommend staying away from Toshiba or Insignia, and instead buy a good TV and a separate Fire TV Stick.
