This issue with this TV is that after like 2 weeks 'occasionally' it will dim/brighten randomly. It will also 'occasionally' just close out of what you were watching and go to the home screen, whether that's your digital antenna or hulu/netflix/hbo/etc, and then you have to open everything again. It once did this to me 4 times in a 22 minute episode, so I just quit trying. That's the major complaints. Smaller complaint is that when you use alexa/voice control and tell it to open something it will say it's going to open it, and then maybe 20% of the time will do nothing. So if it worked like it was suposed to it'd be good, picture/volume/etc is nice. Also one of the screws for the stand came with the screw part filled in, spent an hour on the phone simply trying to get another shipped to me, said they were having trouble and would call me back, then never called or sent anything. So Toshiba also has bad customer service.

I have fire TV sticks and tried this TV out to replace the one in my bedroom. I love the fire TV interface. I recently cut the cord and everything you need are on your home screen including OTA channels. You can see what is currently on every channel. I love it that you don't have to switch inputs to watch TV then switch to a different input for Netflix/Hulu/Amazon video. Just press the home key. Now I'm going to replace my firetv stick with a firetv recast for my older TV just to have the same interface. As for picture quality, it's not up to par with my 4k TV but it's pretty good for the price. I watch it from across the room so everything looks fine to me. The sound from the TV is actually quite loud in my opinion. I don't have to turn on my sound base anymore just to hear the news. All in all, great product for the price. I hope to get 3 years out of this product then onto the next TV.

We bought this tv 6 months ago and love it!! In fact, we loved it so much, we bought another one on Black Friday. It's far and away the best tv we've ever owned. The picture is brilliant, and the sound is great!. It comes with Fire TV loaded, so if you've "cut the cord" and use something like PS Vue, Prime Video, or Net Flix, all those apps are preloaded. One of the best features is that the remote is very similar to the Fire TV remote, so now we only need one remote for the Fire TV, Net Flix, and the regular tv. In fact, the remote actually has a button for each of the following: PS Vue, Prime Video, Net Flix, and HBO. When we cut the cord from regular cable, we bought a Fire TV box for each of our tvs. They were $100 each. I presume they're about the same now. Buying this tv saves you $100 if that's the route you go (which I highly recommend).

The picture on this TV was exceptional for the price. The Alexa function is nice requiring only 1 button and your voice to change channels, inputs, and volume. However, the TV must have an internet connection or you cannot complete the on screen set-up or use the Alexa function. So each time you turn the TV on you get a set-up screen so you manually have to switch the TV input using the remote control. The TV was for my 85 year old mother whose hands and memory dont work as well as they used to.We were hoping she could just turn the TV on with 1 button then use Alexa for setting channel and volume. This is why I gave a rating of 2 as we were not told that and had no internet connection in the location of the TV. The picture is 5+

Picture and Sound Good - Software Lacking

Happy with the the picture and sound. At this price point the picture and sound makes TV a 3 or 4 star, closer to 4. I've always had good luck with Toshiba products. What kills it is the software. That's why I gave it two stars. The TV comes on to the home screen. You cannot default it to any individual input. I have Sat TV and have programmed my Sat remote to the TV. Turn it on, Sat box comes on, TV come on to the home screen; I have to put down the Sat remote and pick up the TV remote and hit enter to select HDMI 1, then go back to my Sat remote. This may seem like a small thing, however when you have elderly people in the house they expect to turn the TV on, change channels and adjust volume - that's it. I called Amazon (Fire TV software is theirs) and they said they would try to get it into the next update. Already it's an older model; we'll see. Other than that, TV is great. G

      Toshiba Customer Care

      Hi,

Thank you for taking the time to review our Fire TV Edition TV. To help you enjoy your TV I want to let you know that to change the TV to power up directly to the last input setting, press the Home button on your remote control and select the Settings menu. Then select the Display & Sounds menu and change the Power On setting to Recent row. With this new setting, the TV will power up to the last input that was watched.

Really glad that caught this deal when we did because have been looking for awhile for this type of tv. Love Best Buy app! Easy to navigate & check other promotions for type of tv we wanted. Set up was so easy! Access to functions quick, accessibility, smart tv, just can’t say enough good things about this tv! And, being a Toshiba, we a have a older Toshiba tv and still using it but needed a bigger tv and being a smart tv with firestick, just couldn’t beat the $! Told one of my Family members and said why didn’t you text or call me about this great deal (after sale was over). Said, would of if you told me you were looking for a smart tv with firestick! Thank you, Best Buy!

When I found this tv during BB's After Thanksgiving Sale, the price was just too good to ignore. I researched the product on other sites and was pleased to find so many rave reviews. Once the tv arrived and I set it up, it blew my mind. Fantastically easy to get all your tv/movie accounts linked ..... setting up the wifi is also painless. Picture is breathtaking.... sound is gorgeous. Being able to Ask Alexa for almost everything..... even non tv-related queries....is making my google home mini jealous. Absolutely the finest tv we've owned, and far less expensive than any of them, too.

It probably is, but I almost gave up and put it back in the box to give back. I’ve never had to set up a tv and all the extras myself so it took about 34 hours after I completely shut down the “”Network” connection so I just paid $20 for some Comcast crap. The picture is fat and smooshed but it is standing on that dresser and hasn’t fallen apart in its 34 hours of life all because of the screws I put in the stand legs lol I haven’t really used it much and I’m not a tech girl but it’ll be just fine one day. We have to get to know each other and i don’t like the remote. I have directv so keeping track of the smaller one and working it in the dark isn’t probably gonna work Overall it’s a good tv!!

    Nice integration of Fire TV

Unlike standard smart TVs (think Samsung), integration of Fire TV makes this TV very easy to use with a responsive interface. The remote is very similar to the standard Fire remote with a few extra buttons. Some are necessary like "volume" and others not so much like "Netflix". The remote could benefit from a number pad to access broadcast channels directly. I was a little disappointed that the remote uses an inferred interface which has to be "aimed" unlike the standard Fire remote with uses radio waves. The remote is why I downgraded the TV from 5 stars to 4 stars.

The TV is great but the reason why i gave it four out of 5 is because the TV does have a little lag. So sometimes I'll click and turn the volume up and it isn't a rapid response it's a slow response. I'll be turning the volume up and the volume is moving but it's not telling you where it's at until you stop clicking for a minute. Then click it once and wait about two seconds maybe three and then it tells you what the volume level is at that point. Also sometimes going into Hulu and Netflix is just maybe like a one or two second delay for it to tell me that it's going into show me the option. But outside of that it's pretty good I like it.

I got this TV in Jan 2019 and it has worked sporadically during this time. The TV constantly freezes while watching Hulu or Netflix. After it freezes, it automatically restarts itself. During a 1 hour tv program, it did it at least 10 times. If it is not freezing, the volume will just stop and then it will restart itself. It is so frustrating. The software is up to date, so I have no idea what the problem is. If I am watching Hulu, Netflix or regular TV on any other TV in the house, I don't have these problems. It just happens on this TV. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY.

Recently purchased the Onkyo TX-NR585 receiver to replace my TX-SR502 which came to its end after about 20 years. It has been great so far, the sound quality is "EXCELLENT", due to high current output... nothing less than expected. Have been a fan of Onkyo receivers since my first purchase, and it still continues to serve well. The 585 is a great upgrade for the price, and I especially like the wi-fi/internet connectivity. Very easy to set up with on-screen display that takes just a few minutes, then you are ready to enjoy your favorite movie, cd, or music stream. Very, very pleased.

This is my 1st Toshiba flat screen TV. Im impressed with both the picture quality and the sound. The picture displays a sharp crisp image. The audio fills the room without having to increase the volume very high. This is also my 1st fire TV. I'm using an echo dot to control the TV functionality. Changing inputs, and channels, not to mention turning the TV on an off. It was very easy to get the echo dot connected using the Alexa app. Only thing i find is sometimes Alexa has trouble turning the TV on when using the voice command on the echo dot. This is a nice size TV for an average size room for the price

I've reviewed the Roku Ultra, Fire TV Stick, Chromecast, Nvidia Shield TV, and other cord cutting and smart TV gadgets like HD Homerun, Tablo, etc. This is hands-down my favorite. I typically buy a dumb TV and use the converters, and this is my first built-in. The Fire TV is fun - a bit slow, and occasionally freezes or glitches, but overall I love it. Once Amazon fixes the problems in this first-gen product, it'll be a classic. I have it jailbroken and updated with Kodi, Roku Channel, etc. Also have a lot of Amazon Channels. This is a fun smart TV product to have.

I purchased the tv in november and finally set it up. Only thing is i cant because i was given the wrong remote and with this television it requires you to setup the remote first. The remote that was in the bix was a roku. Second the english i structions not available. Lastly the legs are missing the screws to keep it supported. Really thinking about not purchasing from bestbuy again

Bought the TV when advertised for $199 @ Best Buy. Figured it was time to replace my 10+ year old Sony HDTV that was still crankin' and doing a great job. But at $199, how could I go wrong? Picture is excellent. Sound very decent--I don't need any sound bar--it is perfect sounding to me. Over all, its well worth it for the price point and hopefully it lasts as long as my Sony did. If that happens, it will be one of my all time great purchases. So far, So good. If I see again for that price or below, I will pick another up.

I got this tv because the price was right, about like getting the Fire Tv extra free. But i haven't tried it out yet though. I went by other reviews on the quality. I already have a Roku1 and Roku3 and a Fire Tv Stick. My experience with Fire Tv is that it scrolls faster than Roku. The programs on Roku and Fire Tv vary so i may still use either, but lately use Fire Tv a little more since mine scrolls faster. I can't wait to try that out already built in on this tv and will update should i have any problems.

Believe it or not, but this is my first smart TV.. It was very easy to set up and what a beautiful picture & sound. Our tv was 15 years old and still had a great picture but we could no longer stream Netflix from the Wii as of Jan 19..Buying a larger TV, that has all of my apps built in, with such clairity at an amaxing price couldn't be beat. We still have another 50 inch Panasonic in the living room that we purchased in 2008 for a lot of money ($1500.00) ..and this TV is just as beautiful.

I purchased this model in November. I've always been partial to Toshiba televisions as they always have excellent picture quality. Also at the time, Best Buy had a nice sale on this model. Took it home for $200 even. The picture quality is fantastic as expected. But for some reason when I watch hulu, HBO, Netflix, etc, it will cut out and restart on it's own. It also loses wifi signal very easily. I've already put the set on sale and have purchased a 49" TCL.

I did not realize when I bought this item that it was smart tv lol. I was just going by size as I have eye problems and the size makes it easier to see without straining. But after I figure out controls and how to hook up my Roku even if not really needed. the picture is really good and the colors are perfect no wash out or too orange although on some of the channels the picture does not go across entire width. But I love it. Even though I am not crazy about tv that talks back too me
