Picture and Sound Good - Software Lacking

At this price point the picture and sound makes TV a 3 or 4 star, closer to 4. I've always had good luck with Toshiba products. What kills it is the software. That's why I gave it two stars. The TV comes on to the home screen. You cannot default it to any individual input. I have Sat TV and have programmed my Sat remote to the TV. Turn it on, Sat box comes on, TV come on to the home screen; I have to put down the Sat remote and pick up the TV remote and hit enter to select HDMI 1, then go back to my Sat remote. This may seem like a small thing, however when you have elderly people in the house they expect to turn the TV on, change channels and adjust volume - that's it. I called Amazon (Fire TV software is theirs) and they said they would try to get it into the next update. Already it's an older model; we'll see. Other than that, TV is great. G

Thank you for taking the time to review our Fire TV Edition TV. To help you enjoy your TV I want to let you know that to change the TV to power up directly to the last input setting, press the Home button on your remote control and select the Settings menu. Then select the Display & Sounds menu and change the Power On setting to Recent row. With this new setting, the TV will power up to the last input that was watched.
