Wanted a smaller TV to replace a 65 inch Samsung Smart HDTV, so looked online for something around 50 inches. Happened onto this Toshiba via Best Buy, which was on sale for $279 at the time. Ordered it sight unseen, found it remarkably easy to unpack and set it up by myself! (Arrived in good condition, with all necessary items and very clear, written instructions.) Superbly sharp picture with good balance and definition. The sound is also good on most channels, though (as others have mentioned) somewhat dull when the audio is lacking via the source of broadcast, such as some of the lesser channels. I have a Bose adjunct to compensate at those times, which was purchased years ago, with the Samsung Smart TV . . . (The $2000 Samsung sound wasn't any better quality) Have read that the speakers in these ultra flat panel televisions are just not as powerful as those in the older models with more cabinetry? ! Friends and family who watched the Samsung here previously are now surprised by the quality of the 50 inch Toshiba; it actually recommends itself perfectly! VERY pleased with this 50 inch Toshiba TV, as well as the free delivery provided from Best Buy~~!!

Set up was easy and straight forward, attach the legs and plug in the HDMI and power. Can't get any easier than that. I didn't feel the need to tweek any settings and the picture looks perfect. Sound is very good and plenty of volume. Wally from Comcast found this TV and set up the remote to control TV volume and mute. Happy I choose another Toshiba.

I purchased the Toshiba - 50" Class (49.5" Diag.) - LED - 1080p - HDTV - Black, online. I was a bit hesitant regarding the shipping etc. It was shipped carefully and delivered quickly. The set up was so easy, even I could do it. The quality and price were awesome. I love it and will buy again soon. Beautiful picture on this screen, too.

Havent had any problems. Great picture quality! But if your the type that loses controllers this tv is not for you the tv itself does not include volume buttons only on off and inputs .. But i love this tv regardless its so big and was a pretty good price

I guess i have the worst luck, i raved about Toshiba HDTV's my family bought 3. Now less than 2 years of owning my 50L420U it developed this defect in the screen. The TV has a great pic and sound that's why the 5 stars until now. I hope BB or Toshiba will show me some courtesy and help me resolve this, i'm bummed.

Great reception with over the air channel's. I really do not watch much TV except for Netflix or local channel's. use i for computer monitor mostly. really love this TV, it works great. the price is awesome.That is why i bought it. I have a GTX 970 GPU and have a dual boot system. works great on Linux and Windows 10.

This is not going to be the greatest TV out there, but for the price it is hard to beat. I originally bought this for our home office, but have since moved it into our bedroom and it has been a wonderful TV for both places.

I wanted a TV that was priced well, and had an excellent picture! I got what I was looking for! I also purchased a sound bar, which makes this TV perfect for me!

I only have had this TV for a few days but I love it! Great bright colorful picture right out of the box! Terrific loud audio! TV is real easy to use and great on the wall. No problem so far. Great buy!

This TV is a nice size, has great picture, and great sound despite what I had seen on other reviews. However, I had no idea that the only way to control the volume is through the remote! Period! Of course my son lost the remote on day two of unboxing the tv. Lol.

I got this tv for my grandfather. He wanted a big tv that was simple, had good sound and he didn't need it to be a smart tv, because he prefers to have a roku because is easy to use for Netflix. Anyways I found this tv on sale at a great price. I connected it for my grandpa and I'm happy to say that it has really good picture quality, it has a really good sound to watch movies and for him to watch boxing matches, and it also very easy to set up and program the tv channels. I recommend it for the quality of the brand, and great value for the price.

This Toshiba 50" is excellent for under $300, replaced a Samsung Plasma 50" 720p. Great picture good sound even better with a sound bar that plugs right into the side jack. Only draw back it does not show time on screen or full days programming of whats on. Hooked up to over the air antenna. Scanned channels got them all the first time, The fact that it is not a smart TV is what sold me. Got my ROKU connected tuned to Netflix and man what clarity of these movies compared to 720p. Had a Toshiba back in the tube days out lasted all others by far.You cannot beat this deal.!!

I bought this tv as a replacement for a tv that was sent to Geek Squad for repair. I didn't want to be without a tv for three weeks so I purchased this one. It turned out that my tv couldn't be repaired so Geek Squad gave me a store credit for a new set. My store credit covered the purchase price of this tv. When I bought it, it was on sale, so it was a really good buy. It has bright, vibrant color. I don't use the internet through my tv, so I can't speak to that function. Overall, it's just a great tv for a great price. I don't know anything about the technical features and don't care to. I have it connected to my dvd player and that works great. The speakers are better than my old tv. They project sound out into the room, where the speakers on my other smart tv were in the back of the set. That doesn't make sense to me.

I got it on sale and it is the lowest price for the 50 inches TV at the time. No big expectations. It does what it's suppose to do. Picture is decent. Set up is easy enough. Have not find anything wrong with the unit yet. So over all it is a good value.

I didn't need a smart TV..I have Kindle Fire Stick and we don't have Netflix (plus we have a smart DVD player connected) That being said, I couldn't be happier with the quality for what I paid on a "Black Friday/week" sale price. The sound quality and volume are better than average but I did connect it to a five speaker surround sound system. Connected to DirecTV satellite and many screens are in 1080p and ESPN Sports looks just fine even though it is only a 60Hz refresh rate. I have no complaints except there are NO buttons on the TV except for the "Input" select button. Don't lose your remote because that is the ONLY way to control the TV. (other than your cable/satellite remote)

I selected the Toshiba 49.5" as it was the right size, came with a controller, and specifically did not have a bunch of extras (curved screen, 3-D, or smart system), but it did come with solid reviews from others. It was also on sale, and I had it delivered for free. Soon after, Best Buy lowered the price, so I contacted them, and they honored their price-match policy and refunded the difference. The only negative is the lack of a manual with the TV . I like to have the pages in my hand when I am figuring out how to use a new device. But I am extremely pleased with the product. I bought an HDMI cord to connect this TV to my cable box.

I am so happy with my purchase. I read the reviews and was focused on a quality picture and sound. This television provides a great picture and great sound. I have NO complaints. It was easy to set up and connect to my AT&T service provider. I am blown away by this purchase. It is HD/LCD, and although not a high end television, for 300+ dollars it is amazing! And added surprise for me, is an audio jack so I can plug my headphones in to listen to concerts. My last television was a Toshiba from Best Buy. I gave it away after 9 years of use when I received this purchase. Shipped in 2 days at no cost!
