My 6 year old plasma tv started acting up. The final blow was the Apple TV remote control flying into it marking its demise. I looked at replacement TV's that were 3x as much. I could not justify that. There is not much in the way of 4K programming. This TV offered 3 HDM ports and a digital audio out. My only pain point was the set up. The legs of the TV, that let it sit flat on the entertainment stand, require screwing them in. Be sure to have a screw driver handy.

I wanted a larger and affordable television for our youngest. I don't know about its performance yet, but have high hopes that it will do everything that it is meant to do without any complications or defects.

I bought this TV since my Samsung LCD broke down, and took a black Friday special, and I do not regret it! Great picture, sound could be a little better, and 60hz will lack in certain fast moving moments, but will not complain for the price. If you watch sports or play fast action games, this TV is not for you, but if you watch regular TV, you will be happy here.

Frank said on 1-7-2017 in his review that he could not sync remote. Do not know what cable service you have but the codes for a sync to Toshiba to cable remotes are: 007,030,040,138,230,258,325,703. My cable service, Time Warner, remote did sync with one of these codes. Now I do not have to use Toshiba remote. Hopefully one of these codes will work. TW instructed my step by step how to program cable remote to Toshiba TV. Good Luck.

This is a great tv for the price I paid. It does everything I need it to, plus its 1080. My next purchase will be a Smart TV.

I have an Xbox One so I did not need a Smart TV, but still wanted a great picture. I think this TV has a great picture for its unbeatable price. It also has 3 HDMI inputs, and an AUX output so I can use a regular set of speakers as a make-shift home theater system. Love this TV for the price

I like the sound , Okay picture quality. The TV doesn't come with the volume and power buttons on there so you have to your remote

Theater quality for such a low price! We are so happy with this TV! It is worth much more in my book. You won't be disappointed!

Beware of Toshiba TVs. I can not recommend this 50 inch set or any other Toshiba tv because of the extreme measures needed to get the broken TV replaced under warranty. I called the Toshiba number given to me by Best Buy and that number directs you to a website because they only now offer phone support for computers. The website makes you hunt to find a number to call for in home repairs. That number actually directs you back to the website. It took two days and many hours on the phone to get the TV scheduled to be replaced.

The picture is kinda fuzzy and takes a second to load the pixels but other than that and the sound being oversensitively loud its a good tv really light but DO NOT THE SCREEN UBBER "touchy" finger prints show up really well

I purchased this right after purchasing an LG 55LH5750 and was sincerely hoping for a comparable picture because I was so impressed with the LG. Unfortunately the Toshiba did not measure up. The picture is not as clear and bright. My wife couldn't really see a big difference but I wasn't happy. I returned this set and bought another LG. Happy again.

This TV had a great price right after Christmas 2016. You will get exactly what you pay for. The set has a manufactured date of Sept 2016. The picture has gone out after only a year and a half of regular use. This television is garbage.

Had it a week, then it stopped accepting HDMI input from one of my devices, then the speakers wouldn't accept a command from the remote to turn off and on, etc. etc. Back to the manufacturer for a refurb....if they bother at all.

Started seeing white spots after 3 years. Product should last longer than that.
