This TV is a piece of crap. It's not worth the money. I only had my TV for a year-and-a-half and it has already blacked out.

Initially purchased an open box, it failed with a pink screen merely days after receiving and installing it on the wall mount, so had to disassemble and return within 2 weeks. Store replaced it with NIB unit, and I purchased service plan, just in case! They did the right thing, so I continued to support their efforts. Since it was replaced, I only recently experienced that pink screen issue. Weird, only happened and pwr'd off/on worked fine since. With the amount of 4K content, it has had a very light workout in that setting, but it is a nice picture on the DTV 4k channels and even links thru Chrome-cast are picked up. Speakers are USELESS, so don't expect to use this w/o a decent set of speakers connected, like powered AudioEngine A2's or such. The remote is simple, no extras. Chrome-cast has worked well, but sometimes, it gets locked up while changing from one video to another. Although NOT as impressive as those 1500$ units, but, its also a sub $400 TV, set your expectations properly. If you are looking to get into the 4k world, this unit will do the job, and considering its pricing, its pretty impressive..recommended product!

I bought this for my nephew for his new house and birthday combo, he loves it, he had a 32 inch before, so big change! He says the color is really good and bright.great picture and easy to setup, I also bought the 2160 HDMI cable not the regular HDMI cable. He said it was easy to set up.

Great TV for a Beginner HDTV Buyer

The 32" JVC D-Series CRT that we owned finally died. I bought it back in 1992. I bought this CRT over one of the flat panels because I couldn't see spending the extra $1200 to $1500 on some new technology that wasn't even proven, yet, back then. The picture quality was just as good on the JVC TV as on the flat panels so, my logic was, why spend three to four times more money when my perfect TV is right here. It wound up being a good choice because that TV lasted us 25 years, and it never disappointed us with the picture quality it gave, even when everyone else went digital. I know I write "us" when I was an I, singular in nature, when I bought the TV. I have been through two wives, the current one being with me for the past 16 years, with this TV. Everyone loved that TV. RIP. So, me and my aforementioned wife go shopping for a new TV because our JVC died. She has been forced to watch TV on some 13" CRT that I dug out of the closet. I told her, wait for the Black Friday deals. She couldn't because she needs her TV. Me? I'm fine with a laptop and wifi. Her? I did say that we have been married for 16 years. We wound up buying this TV, literally sight unseen, because Best Buy had no Toshiba TVs available to look at for picture quality. We bought it anyway. What I liked about the TV was, while it was far from smart from a Smart TV perspective, this TV is pretty stupid, it supported Chromecast, we both have Android phones so, I figured, if all else fails during some electric or ice storm that knocks out the cable to 2-3 weeks, we're covered. That wound up being the correct decision because, outside of our local cable company, everyone uses Chromecast to stream their videos to our TV. In other words, it doesn't matter that our TV is stupid from a Smart TV perspective. Our phones are Smart, so they can be our access to TV, whenever we need it to be. Some people who hate this TV complain that, out of the box, it doesn't give a great picture quality. I agree. The preset contrast, backlit, contrast, color, et. al., just isn't set right in the factory. But having grown up using 1960s black and white TVs, I know how to use these settings. They were hourly challenges back in the 1960s, depending on the reception we got. The five most important dials on my TV back then were the brightness, contrast, volume, VHF, and UHF dials, and in that order. Nothing out of the box is perfect for your viewing pleasure. We had to adjust these settings on our Toshiba. IMHO, the Backlit was set way too high, and we wish the Contrast went beyond 100%. Here is my criticism of other HDTVs that cost way more money than this one, coming from a guy who is used to a smooth, analog signal. There are moments when the football freezes while everything else is moving. There are moments when Flo's name-tag on the Geico ad seemingly stays in space, while the rest of the picture moves. Maybe you people who grew up watching TV like this don't see this because this is all you have ever witnessed. I mean, the football moves when it moves, and Flo's name-tag moves when it moves. Big things like this shouldn't just stay in one spot until the TV can catch to when the TV's CPU decides that that is when it is going to happen. That type of problem doesn't happen on analog TV, but is happens all the time on HDTVs. Look, if I want to watch TV, I want it seem-less, just like analog, and without all the digital quirks. This TV seems to give it to me. They seem to have an overpowered CPU with an under powered operating system, which is fine with me. I want picture rendering, not an operating system in the background chewing up all the CPU time. In summary, this is a great TV for an HDTV beginner. The picture isn't the best, one needs to adjust the TV's settings to get a better picture, etc. But coming from analog, there isn't the sudden motion stoppage that I know comes from other, more high-end TVs.

This TV is so awesome! Bought it cyber monday and it's worth all the money I put in. I was having second tough before buying it, but when I opened the box, I was amazed on how it was built. It is solid and it looked like more expensive than samsung or sony. I am very picky and meticulous with picture quality, and I was blown away when I opened it. The chrome cast is so easy to use and I stream all of my netflix, flex and youtube videos on in it in 4K! Picture is so great that my eyes had a pleasure every time I watch :-). The sound is so AWESOME, with onkyo speakers, IT IS SUPERB! I have a visio soundbar but I don't even use it because the sound is so great. I would recommend this TV to anyone. Toshiba is a good brand, I had my old Toshiba that I bought 10 years ago and still running. I really love this TV

I was stunned on the sound quality because it has the inbuilt DTS technology which is really good. I do have a sound bar which is not useful anymore now lol. The picture is great and it is a pleasure to play Xbox on this 4K TV. I also got a good deal from Best Buy. Thank you!!!
