Do not buy this tv, we purchased it in 2020 and if immediately had issues. For starters it stopped recognizing wireless internet and could only be wired, that too started to fail so we reset the tv and now it is basically useless. It won’t pair with the remote to start the setup process. Spend your money on a better product. Trust me.

Easy setup and good quality at a great price. The included Fire TV is easy to use and setup was fast. TV is lite enough that you don’t beed a special or overly expensive wall mount kit either.

This TV has worked well for everything we have used it for. The color is clear and the user interface is easy to understand. I with the buttons on the remote were more useful, or even perhaps customizable. Playstation Vue has been officially discontinued, and not everyone has the others.

Upgrading from a Sony 40" LCD TV that was very expensive 10 years ago to a Toshiba 50" LED 4K smart TV that was very reasonably priced. The difference in picture quality and size is remarkable. I'm very happy with the fire TV built in.

Picture Quality is much better than I expected for a television at this price. The setup was very simple from setting up accounts to connecting peripheral devices like a cable box and video game console.
Our old TV was not "smart", so we had to connect a Fire TV box to it. That worked just OK and resulted in intermittent problems with connecting to Netflix and other streaming services. Periodically, we had to clear the cache for each app and even restart the device to get it to stream services that weren't Amazon Prime.
With the Fire TV built-in, all of these connections have been working normally.
Very happy with this purchase

I was looking for a good TV to replace an old aging plasma in my bedroom. I was going between this and another brand. The other brand was thinner in profile, however this one got the better reviews and I can see why. I don't need the thinnest TV to hang on my bedroom wall, no one sees it. The picture is very clear, the sound is good (I changed a few settings to make it better) and the firetv functions as it should. I had a firestick and it was glitchy, having the service right on the TV makes it much better. If you're looking for the thinnest TV on the market, this isn't it, but you won't be disappointed in it at all!!

I really wanted a smart tv that was a FireTV edition. We have Amazon prime. We used the Firesticks on our older tvs. We are used to the format. There aren't many FireTvs to pick from. We chose Toshiba because our very first tv was a Toshiba and it lasted a good 15+ years before it quit working. I was a bit nervous because I bought it online and didn't see it in store. After connecting it to a good quality 4k Ultra HD HDMI cable, I love this TV. The picture is great. The sound quality is very good. I stress the good quality HDMI cable because at first I used a cheap $11 4k Ultra HD HDMI cable. The results were- orange people, quiet dialogue, but very loud tinny music. I replaced the cheap cable with a Rocketfish brand 4K Ultra HD HDMI cable. It was like watching a completely different tv! It looked and sounded like the ones I later saw in the store. Great picture. Great Sound. Great price also!

It took me a week to get the tv working. If I had read the comments on this tv first, I may have not made this purchase. There was a problem with the remote connecting to the tv. I tried every trick that I could find on the internet. One of these hints finally worked a week later and once it did...wow!!! I love this tv. The clear picture quality and the ease of switching between different apps that I use frequently.

Overall this is a very good television. I've purchase two in the last month, one for my mother and one for my mother in law. There are some distinct pluses and one drawback to discuss. Starting with the positive, the set is nicely priced and has a very good picture for an inexpensive set. Perhaps the most important feature for both purchases was the legs on the set. Most televisions in this size have gone from having a center stand to two legs. In the case of both mom and my mother in law, wall mounting was not an option and the legs on every other television exceeded the width we had on the table top. I found multiple good televisions to choose from, but all of them had legs spaced from 38 to 42 inches apart. In both cases I had only 36 inches of table top to use. This Toshiba set has legs that were sturdier and accommodated the width I had to deal with.
On the downside, the default setting for the television was the Amazon Fire Stick source. The older users wanted the television to turn on and go to their cable and broadcast channels. They probably will not be streaming things immediately, if ever. It isn't difficult to change the settings to have the television go to last channel when it's turned on, but it does have to be done when doing the initial setup.
Everyone should also be aware that Toshiba doesn't make the television. The brand name was licensed to Hisense, a Chinese manufacturer. That isn't a problem for me, but it's something to mention in the review because Hisense makes similar televisions which often cost a little less. Had the legs not been a problem, I might have settled on a Hisense set instead.

Was looking to upgrade my Son's tv since he is in college. I personally own the Samsung QLED and could have bought 10 of these for the price I paid for that one. The picture is great on this Toshiba. The FireTV software is fast and responsive. My son's Xbox One X plays flawlessly with virtually no input lag when tv is in game mode. HDR is great and comparable with much more expensive tvs. Good deep Blacks and Vibrant Color. Highly recommend!!

I am in love with my new fire TV , it has tons of apps that were unavailable on my last tv. I run my computer through it picture quality seems great. I also play ps4 games no issues with any if it. I learned that these new tvs cannot be laid down or you break the screen fyi all new TVs will do the same. Must be transported upright.

I happened to run into the general manager of the store while browsing. They had one of these as an open box. I wasn’t even looking at the toshiba because it’s a bit out of my price range. We talked for a while and he took the price down to $169 there was no way I could say no. This tv would be a great deal at regular price. It’s amazing. Gorgeous. Sound is far better than I was hoping for and definitely don’t need a sound bar. But for $169 this might be the greatest deal I’ve ever gotten in my life. I would recommend this tv to anyone. If you’re on the fence the. Go for it. You won’t be disappointed!

This TV was simply a steal (on-sale last weekend for $299)! Easy setup and really great picture and sound! We had the Fire box on our last TV, so the built-in Fire hub is just what our family is used to...and very fast! The stand is very sturdy and we liked that the “legs” were more centered VS towards the edges. I also like that the frame of the TV is matte finish VS glossy, so there is no glare from the frame during the day (we get a lot of sun in the room). I am not overly high tech and I’m somewhat easy to please. I’d be hard-pressed to find anything different with this TV if compared to a $800-$1k TV of the same size. Our last Toshiba lasted 11 years, so we were elated to find that same brand, with Fire built-I’m AND on sale....love it!

I bought this gem Open Box Excellent for $275 back in 2019 and indubitably have not been able to find a similar-quality or better TV anywhere NEAR that price ever since. Has all the right inputs for new and old connectivity, doesn't get hung up in apps or require repeated mashing of the remote to do what needs to be done, and the picture is crisp and clear. Stop looking: you're here.
