      My Toshiba laptop crashed about 1 year ago. With the help of a genius computer guy, I was able to retrieve all my info off the hard drive. Purchased a new computer at that time with Windows 8...also from Best Buy. Was needing to do some work online but the online courses were only compatible with Windows Vista or Windows 7. I still had the old Toshiba computer that had crashed so I purchased this new hard drive, inserted my recovery disc and after doing a lot of updates, it works like it always did. The computer itself is a little slower than my newer computer, but that is due to the processor speed. Very easy to install and works great!

      It's a 2.5" laptop drive. Was easy to install, as far is this drive goes. of course, if your laptop is complicated, that's not the drive's fault. It works. Runs pretty quiet and does what it is built to do.
