I can not think of another 55" TV at this price point. Samsung did a great job producing a product that meets the market demand for a large Flat HD TV. The TV works great with all my devices and controls them all over the HDMI signal. I can control my stereo receiver, bluray player, a internet TV with one remote. The TV was easy to assemble and setup right out of the box. It took about 10 minutes and I was up and running. There are better TVs, but nothing at this price that can match this one. I enjoy this TV and I do not regret te purchase. I would purchase it again.

Picked up this TV as an early Black Friday deal and for the price it has been an excellent TV. Yes there are other TV’s with a higher refresh rate and will have a better picture …but to have a 55” TV for the cost of a 32” can’t be beat.

I am giving this TV 5 stars due to it's overall value. If you are looking for a no thrills basic LED with a GOOD picture for bottom dollar then this is your TV. I personally think the picture looks great. It's bright and colors vibrant. I have this placed in a very bright room with a bay window and sliding glass door and this TV still produces a very clear and bright pic. The TV has a matte screen which virtually eliminates glare. Not an easy feature to find on most TVs over 40 inches. As another reviewer pointed out there is a low hum coming from the unit when switched on. I can't tell if it's a fan or just electrical 'buzz' but it is so low that it's only detectable when the room is silent and you are within a couple feet of it. I use separate speakers so I cannot comment to it's sound quality. One note, most of the picture settings have the sharpness turned up way to high which creates a pixelation effect. Just turn the sharpness down a little and it smooths right out. The picture I took of the TV was on a bright and sunny day. I opened the shades to allow for the most light possible. This was taken from a camera phone so please take that into account. Even so you can see the picture is pretty good.

Picked up during the holidays for the discounted price. Absolute value for money with great picture quality and good enough sound. Couldn't go wrong for that price of 55 inch tv. So far the picture quality has been excellent. No buzzing sound as other reported. Setup was breeze. Interface is easy to navigate and understand. Good that it has 3 hdmi ports unlike most led tv around these days which have only 2 hdmis. It has an optical out as well and it works great when connected with a sound bar.

I got this TV on sale after Christmas for only $350! I don't care about "smart" features because I have a dongle ($35 Chromecast) for streaming all kinds of online content. I also was not ready to make the price or content jump to 4K. This TV met my needs perfectly and at an amazing price! I used online reviews for solutions to some reported problems I encountered: A low "buzzing" sound is fixed by keeping the backlight at 100%. Also, the "Dynamic" picture setting eliminated some graininess and delivered a great picture, but there are TONS of detailed picture settings for tweaking things for your room and personal taste. The built-in speakers are just "good", so a sound bar or a receiver is a given if you are need great sound. I'm VERY HAPPY with this purchase: a great display at a great price!

PROS: *Clean Design, Solid Construction, Link system that allows remote control to function on HDMI connected devices almost flawless 1080p Picture. Easy to understand *No nonsense menu navigation.Simple Easy to use remote. Blue Ray disk looks great, Play Station looks great, HD broadcast looks great. Excellent sound quality from the speakers provided. CONS:*Any non HD input or standard definition really looks terrible on this large 55" screen. 720p input at minimum is required for a decent picture. Picture angle could be significantly improved. Looks great head on. I do notice fading from the side view though (Deep blacks begin to turn grey. There were a couple of spots on the screen when first purchased; however they seem to have resolved themselves.

I love this 55" Toshiba!! Nice picture. Great sound of even without surround sound. Light weight, set up was super easy. It appeared to do everything by itself! The sound and the picture fills my entire living room. My children what me to get them each one also. Toshiba what an awesome television!

I knew what I was getting into with this set when I bought it and I have to say that I've been pleasantly surprised. The picture is at least as good, if not better, than the picture on the Sony set it replaced. The LED backlight is a huge improvement over the CFL backlights I've been dealing with for the last 10 years. The built in speakers are certainly better than expected and actually sound pretty good all things considered. I'm convinced that you won't find a better tv at this price point ( full disclosure, I got it at the Black Friday price) and have no qualms recommending it to anyone that isnt ready to take the 4K plunge, but still wants a lot of screen real estate with a good picture.

The price is the biggest seller on this tv. Picture quality is very good, but due to a slower refresh rate there is some slight ghosting effect when watching sports. Great value for the price.

This TV has great picture, is fairly light, easy to set up, looks terrific and sounds good. We are very happy with this tv and the price was well worth it. Great budge upgrade!

HD TV with all basic feature and supports usb & hdmi.. Can be used as a big monitor for your laptop and great gaming experience with XBOX. Picture quality is good, easy to setup and userfriendly user experience..

Our goal was to find a large tv with a good picture that wouldn't break the bank. This Toshiba was clear, bright enough for our room and fit within our price range. Not only that, but it was very easy to hang. We've been using it for over 2 weeks and while the picture is not 4k, I'm not concerned as we use our set for games and OTA broadcasts- neither of which will be 4k anytime soon. This set gives us a great picture TODAY, which is exactly what we were looking for.

This tv was definitely a great buy. Easy to use, light weight so it was very easy for me to mount, the speakers are very loud and the picture quality is pretty good.

Excellent TV that got at a very good price. Not the latest and greatest, but excellent last generation LED TV that was less than half the price of same size 4k TV. I don't usually get the latest and greatest until they have been out for awhile and the price has dropped. If you follow the same strategy, this TV is a good choice.

Great picture and sound. Light weight. Easy to set up. Makes an electrical buzz when on and the legs could be easier to attach and a little more sturdy.

This TV is an excellent value! I got it on a pre-black friday sale and couldn't be happier. The color is good and the picture is clear. Is it the very best TV? No, if you want that you pay a lot more. The speakers face down but the sound of the TV is uneffected by this. The remote isn't my favorite but it works.

A tremendous bargain. Toshiba is no longer selling TVs in America other than a few models at Best Buy. Why buy a smart tv when the Roku, Apple TV, Fire stick, most BluRay players and the like fulfill those functions? It gets a great picture and the sound is good, although I use sound bars or surround sound systems for many programs. I have both the 49-inch and 55-inch versions. These inexpensive TVs are a great home addition. i am waiting to get a 4K TV until programming increases

Bought the Toshiba 55" on Black Friday Deal ($350). Has very good picture and sound-Comparable to much higher priced TV's. Mine does not have the humming noise mentioned by others. I've not seen lag or picture artifacts at all even though this is a 60hz panel (not 120hz). Extremely happy with my purchase after two months of heavy daily use. The only remaining question is how will it hold up over time.

This is the best deal for 55-inch if you don't need 4K, and try to avoid cheapest brand with bad customer service. 60-inch pricing will be at least $200 more. I won't pay $200 for adding 5-inch. Picture quality is good, the only short fall is that it doesn't have function like Sharp's OPC, therefore day time the TV looks great, night time you always have to adjust the brightness lower. A bit inconvenient but priced in.
