Customers love the picture quality and price of this 4K Ultra HD TV. They appreciate the Chromecast feature and the big screen, which is perfect for families. While most customers are pleased with the TV, some have mentioned issues with the remote and the refresh rate, which causes jerky motion.

The TV is good for the price. Our major complaints is the TV defaults to Chromcast when turned on. This is an issue as the TV was bought for my grandmother. This has created a problem as she is not the best at navigating TV menus in order to get to her cable box.

You get what you pay for!!!! All prep was done, wires were hidden, tv hung on the wall, excited and ready to go. Then I plugged the tv in and nothing!!!! No power at all, checked several outlets.... It was the tv! No good, brought back for another brand.

I got the tv as part of a package deal when I purchased furniture at rooms to go. The screen has great color but there is a large white mark across the screen when on and screen is dark. I was also hoping for a ybgr plugs but this tv has none.

TV shuts off on its own, picture is blurry and Best Buy geek squads takes weeks to fix their own faulty tv. Had issues the minute it came out of the box. Very disappointed when we researched and shopped so hard for this TV.

Very dissatisfied with Toshiba brand. I thought this was going to last longer. Poor quality and expected more of a brand name.

I read some reviews and just wanted to give some honest feedback for those looking to buy a great tv for a great price. First, let me clear up some issues that people are having: 1) The tv defaults to google cast until you set it up and update it. Once you do that, it starts on whatever input or was last on. So set up cast on grandma's tv even if she'll never use it. 2) If you are using an antenna and it's choppy or freezing, get a better antenna. 3) If it's choppy or freezing while casting, upgrade your Internet to more bandwidth. 4) Sound is never going to be great on a thin tv. Obviously, the speakers are tiny so hook it up to any external speakers, get a sound bar, or hook it up to a real surround sound system for better sound. 5) There isn't much 4k content out there, but if you will be hooking up a bd player capable of 4k you only need hdmi 2.0 cables and it doesn't matter what brand they are. The cheaper the better. 6) This tv doesn't have ypbpr connections because that's old analog 1080i tech that is being phased out. Live in the now! 7) The remote doesn't have numbers. Who cares? If you have cable, you use the cable remote. If you have an antenna, you don't get that many channels anyway. Plus you can use toshiba's app if you really need numbers on your remote. 8) You can't view video in the media player via usb, so just cast it. Duh! 9) Someone said it didn't have wifi, it does. 10) 60hz blur is barely noticeable and only with fast action sports if you really look for it. So 99% of the time, you will not see any difference. 11) Apps are not built in so you have to use googlecast. Oh no! Now you have to use a wireless streaming technology capable of supporting 4k resolution! Poor you. 12) If you care about contrast ratios etc., and actually know what they are, why are you even looking at a $600 tv. Shame on you. For everybody else, this tv is amazing! I bought 2 as gifts for my father, and father-in-law. I would have gotten one for myself if I didn't already have a big tv in my living room and bedroom. I'm an audio/video junkie as well as a computer expert with over 10 years of experience in the industry, and I'm telling you, this is the best value currently on the market. Sound is decent, picture is great, googlecast works, it's huge, and it's dirt cheap.

Best Buy in $500-$1000 range

My budget was between $500-$1000 and I wanted to get the best TV my chunk of change could buy. I tried them all in the price range 55" or larger this is actually the only larger than 55". Vizio, and LG 55" say they are 120hz but they are not. At least not in the price range. You have to spend about $1200 or more to even touch 120hz on a 55". Don't believe the hype all TVs in the $500 to $1000 range are all 60hz and I mean all of them. This Toshiba works just as well as any Vizio, LG, or Samsung below $1000 period. It simply tells the truth it's a 60hz TV. Bottom line this is the best buy in the $500-$1000 price range. Like I said I tried the others and returned them all. Vizio, LG, Samsung, Hisense, all their TVs between $500-$1000 are all 60hz and will operate the same 4K looks good but not 120hz good they will all be 60hz don't be fooled by Trumotion, or any other gimmick
Did I mention this is the Best Buy in the price range? Buy it when it's on sale for $599 enough said...

Toshiba makes affordable quality products

I have always like Toshiba products - from laptops to TVs and all sorts of products. although they may not make the top of the line TVs, their products are built well and last for years. I purchased this TV 5 years ago and it still works well. It wasn't then nor is it now a full featured smart tv, but I don't need them - I use my Apple TV for content.
5 years later, I am still very pleased with this purchase - quality at an affordable price. thanks to Toshiba and Best Buy.

Great TV, Great Price, however.....

This is a great set and for the price I would give it 5 stars if I could. However, there are some caveats that you would want to know before you go and buy this set.
1. Some users are complaining about the sound on this set. The sound is tinny out of the box so you would have to go in the sound adjustments and play with the settings (max bass and treble for one) and turn on TruSurround and SpokenVoice. The sound then is much better
2. GoogleCast works great and you CAN cast 4K videos from YouTube. Using your iPhone or iPad or computer, you first have to select the 4k resolution option (it may say 2160) and then cast the 4K video. Once you start casting, you will see a small 4K sign on the top right of the video.
3. Hate the remote. Imagine having to cycle through several to get to challen 50 for example. Cannot enter DTV channel numbers directly on remote. You can, however, use the Toshiba App on your iPhone to control the TV without the remote control.
4. The volume up/down and channel up/down and arrows share the same buttons. So if you are hoping to use the same remote to control menus in say the fire stick or FireTV, most buttons wont work.

I'm definitely not a videophile, but for the price, I don't know why I'd need to spend a dollar more for the "everyday" viewing my family does. It's great on gameday, and just watched The Revenant (thru Apple TV) and thought it looked really vivid. I can imagine much more expensive TV's looking better, but like I said, I'm not trying to build a movie theater here, just watch TV.
Sound is a little bit of an issue, but not enough to significantly effect my rating. With a solid soundbar (or other audio addition), I think the issue would totally irrelevant. Very happy so far!!

I did have my doubt when I purchased this TV. This morning, TV finally delivered. Wow......I am so impressed with it. The color is beautiful and very clear. I am not an expert but I can definitely tell the differences when I placed this TV next to my 60" Vizio 1080p TV. Definitely recommend this TV for the price Best Buy offered.

TV mounted on wall looks great (used best buy insignia mount and legrand in wall power kit). Setup was easy enough. My old tv was a 12 year old 40 inch lcd so this was quite an upgrade. The picture quality is very good. The sound is okay, not great. I was disappointed that you can't cast amazon from an iphone or an ipad, but not a big deal. All things considered i'm very happy having spend only $599 for this tv.

I bought this TV on sale for $499, and it was delivered a few days later. Picture quality is good but overall performance is poor. Mounted it and powered it up. Software updated and the TV has a good picture, not OH MY GOD good, but decent quality. Its my first 4K set so I was not unhappy. What I dont like is the tv LOCKS UP and won't turn on or turn off. If it stays on you can't shut it off and if it won't turn on, you (in both cases) have to unplug and "Reboot" the TV. Calling today for a replacement, and not with the same model.
