    It was ready to use straight out of the box. Just plug in the USB cord and it is ready to use! Works fast and you actually get 931 GB of memory, which is pretty close to the promised 1 TB (1024 GB). I am using it for my Xbox One as an external storage. It takes the console a bit longer to boot up but the hard drive works great! Good deal overall.
