The Toshiba 2TB external hard drive is a portable device that can be carried around versus the older bulky versions that are powered by an electrical source plus attach the sub to your laptop. It fast on downloading backup files, movies,music, anything that you would like to view at another time. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Love this hard drive! It is about the size of my hand but holds a TON! Much better than the huge box like my old one that has to be plugged into an outlet. Definitely recommend!

My only need was additional hard drive space and this one fits the bill. Very simple plug and play with nothing to install. Easy to travel with and works great!

After having a string of bad experiences with Seagate drives and realizing I was throwing good money after bad on those, I started trying out the more expensive brands. I bought this, along with a 2 TB WD drive, in 2015. Two years later, even though I used the WD drive more, it's the Toshiba drive that's making clicking sounds and needing frequent scans. (It gets those found.000 folders after a scan that can't be removed, I think it's marking off bad blocks or something.) That's not abysmal, considering it has lasted two years and it's not dead yet, but it's not great either, and not a good sign for the overall longevity of the drive. But hard drive lifespan can be a bit of a gamble anyway. Some of my favorite long-lasting drives have reviews saying they died in a few months. I hoped for better considering how expensive this was compared to other brands and reviews from professionals saying it's archival quality.

The Toshiba 1tb external hard drive is a good one to work with.
