Although Toshiba is not my first choice in electronics and definitely not on my list of considerable parts for my computer, I was impressed with the read / write speeds advertised on the box of the drive. I was looking to upgrade from my hdd to a ssd for my games. Being that the product was Toshiba, I had concerns about the reliability of the drive and the actual performance versus the promised performance on the box. I will admit it has been almost a decade since I purchased a Toshiba product. My previous experience with them left that strong of a negative impression. Not seeing any negative reviews of the product on various websites I decided to give them another try since it has been a while. I am so glad I did! I have previously bought a SSD from another brand company for the OS (boot) portion of my system and was still using a hdd for the games and files. The difference in performance, stability, and reliability between this Toshiba SSD and my other SSD left me with only 1 choice. Purchase another Toshiba SSD to replace the one I am currently using for my boot drive.

Been using Toshiba - Q Series Pro 256GB Internal Serial ATA 3.0 SSD as my boot drive replacing a traditional mechanism HHD. Provides faster boot-up speed and reduces wait time Quiet operation without moving parts. The speed & IOP of this SSD is behind the 250GB Samsung SSD 850 EVO if compared. The cost of both SSD are $100. the problem of Toshiba Q series SSD is incompatible( Drive Error when in boot up) with my Antec Hot-Swap Adapter EasySwap USM

Despite this being one of the faster drives out there, the price point was spot-on. I love this drive so much I bought two.

I picked up a couple of them and set up a RAID drive arrangement for my system drive. The result was a huge performance increase. While these are mainly advertised to improve performance in laptops, they work equally well in a desktop system and are compatible with nearly all systems. Very fast, reliable with no moving parts they also generate much less heat. Highly recommended.

I bought this drive to put in my gaming laptop, and I have been very pleased with the performance. In CrystalDiskMark, I get well over 400 MB/s read and write. I was expecting a lot when I purchased this drive, and it has definitely met and exceeded my expectations.

    Revolutionary upgrade!!!

In all of my years of keeping up with newer technologies and upgrades this has to be the most fundamental game changer in history. In the past you would add some ram, or a slightly better processor with very marginal improvement to overall performance. This has to have taken what I already considered a very fast laptop and took it over the edge. I put this gem in an Asus G750 JW and now from the power button to fully loaded it is only a few seconds vs. 2 minutes. After two weeks of rabid use this drive still benches out over 500mb/s for both read and write. With custom in house controller this Toshiba drive can rival the top sata ssd's.

This is the ONLY way to go! Toshiba SSD is quiet and super fast! Impressive instant OS! Definitely worth every penny (even if it wasn't on sale)! (Caution .. this is so fast, it becomes a little tricky dropping down into BIOS/System Settings!) I'll probably never install anything else since I've experienced this little Toshiba SSD!

Great first round of SSD from Toshiba. A little bit strange packaging, since this will fit in an ultrabook and my application was a standard laptop. All the mounting locations matched up perfectly, but it is a very thin drive with no extra enclosure. Super fast and has worked great so far!

I picked up this drive on sale back in March of this year when I purchased a new laptop. The drive is fast, applications load almost instantly, the PC boots up in seconds and anything hard drive intensive just flies. Having an SSD also increases battery life by a little bit as it's all flash storage and draws less power, even under a heavy load. Packaging was simple, it came in a box protected by bubble wrap. Also in the box is an adapter so the drive will fit in older notebooks which use the thicker laptop drives. I recommend an SSD upgrade to anyone looking to get more performance out of their laptop or desktop PC"s and don't need a huge amount of storage space. (larger SSD drives are still on the expensive side). With an SSD you also get the added benefit of having your data protected from the shock of being dropped as there are no moving parts in these drives.

It's faults. It performs extremely well in every day task including office applications as well as a bit of light gaming. Haven't used the optical drive on it but hey, it's there. Battery life is decent but not what I would have hoped for at this price point. The over all build is fantastic. Feels solid in your hand. Seems like it should be able to take a beating as well. The laptop gets hot when gaming, however, it does a good job of pushing that heat out the back in the hindge area and not near your palm rest. I love that the bottom is solid and that it doesn't intake air from there. In my opinion, asus could have done away with the speaker and disc drive in favor of a couple more gigs of ram and a solid state drive. They Would have a very hard to beat laptop that already stands out in the line up

Installed flawlessly in my HP Elitebook 8560p after the original hard drive died... Extremely fast and no issues at all, just popped in the Windows restore disk and within a few minutes was back up and running. The boot times under Win 7 on this drive are amazing, under 15 seconds to the login prompts from a cold start. Very happy with this purchase.

Recently installed in my 2012 MacBook Pro, and one thing that should be noted is that it is loose in the computer meaning when you move the laptop you can hear the drive move, and I think that is due to be a 7mm SSD drive which to my understanding is not the normal SSD slot size. Other than that, this SSD is blazing fast in boot times and a lot faster when opening apps or copying data. For the price you can't go wrong. A great investment for a laptop that is a few years old, will almost feel renewed.

The Toshiba SSD was a "reluctant" upgrade to my late 2011 MacBook Pro. The drive was on sale, and I have to say it it the best $100 I've ever spent on a computer upgrade - can't believe I hesitated! Drive is working very well and have had no issues since I installed it (other than still not believing my Mac boots to usable in 8 seconds)! This is a great price point SSD and wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

I am running a Toshiba laptop from 2012 and the HDD failed. Wanted to increase performance and breathe new life into the computer so decided on this SSD. Price was good, installation was straight forward. Laptop now responds much faster and boot time is very very quick! Was not too concerned going from 500GB HDD to 256GB SSD. Supplement with flash drives as needed.

Solid state drives will breath life into any computer. Hard drives are the slowest part if a computer. These drives are thousands if times faster than a typical hard drive. Worth the money. These will be standard in most computers in a few years. I used these in a dell t410 server for a VMware lab to virtualize a vsphere environment.

It works great in my late macbook pro 2011 17in. It boot it up it right away. There was a few problems installing the operating system if you are using a second hard drive in the optical bay. It took me a couple of trys for it to work. You have to reformatted the drive in the optical bay first to solve the problem.

Formatted at 237 GBytes with Windows 8.1 and it is quick. Loads Windows on my ASUS G751 laptop in 15 seconds. The cloning software is good but be careful as it will in normal operation just copy the hard drive that you clone. Use the advance features to adjust the SSD format and size.

The drive is excellent and fast. No complaints, and lives up to the hype. The only downside I found was that it didn't come with any SSD management software, and had to really dig around until I found some undocumented software on the Toshiba website. Also, some of the features are disabled most likely because I'm running Windows 10 now... But other than that, the drive works extremely well!
