Bought this drive for a 9 year old box that I run Linux and windows dual boot. Seems to have the windows install running at an acceptable speed despite the slowness of the system.

After the 640gb (5400rpm) stock drive in my HP DV6 died I went searching for a suitable replacement. I considered buying a Hybrid drive that I had read good things about, but settled for this 256gb SSD after I got it on sale for $179. Obviously the drop in storage space was a huge concern for me, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to pick up a drive that would get me improved battery life as well absolutely zero noise output. Installation went much like any other 2.5" hard drive in a laptop and the included spacer allows for a snug fit in the drive bay. Upon re-installing Windows 7 and firing up the computer I knew I had made the right choice. The computer runs MUCH faster than before, opening applications and files almost instantly. I would recommend a SSD to almost anybody that didn't need a larger amount of storage space.

The NTI Echo software that can be downloaded when you purchase this made the data migration to the new drive extremely easy. I just plugged the SSD into my Thermaltake docking station, formatted it and then let the NTI copy every thing over. After the copy was done, swapped the drive and it booted up flawlessly and much faster. Bootup was taking over 2min on the old drive and with the Toshiba it is right about 25sec. OS is Windows 8.1.

I had an old laptop with a defective hard drive and I replaced with the Toshiba SSD, It's like having a new laptop again, easy installation and GOOD over all performance.

Works as advertised. Set up as a boot drive in a new PC built. Super quick with no problems so far.

I installed this SSD drive into a laptop to replace a drive that was experiencing failures on media sectors that held the operating system. This caused the laptop to intermittently fail when booting the system. I used Aoemi's free backup software to clone the existing drive to the SSD using an Anker USB 3.0 to SATA adapter. I was amazed at how simple that process went! When the software finished the cloning process, the SSD drive was loaded up with everything from the laptop's hard drive and I was able to simply swap out the SSD for the hard drive, powered it up and it was like I had a brand new laptop! Power on to logging in took about 15 seconds (compared to 75 seconds for the old hard disk.) Applications launched instantaneously -- so fast I at first thought something might be wrong! :-) The SSD drive has performed like a champ -- reduced startup times, much faster application load times, and longer laptop battery life. The transformation of a machine from hard disk to SSD is well worth the money!

What can I say. It is reasonably priced, has typical SSD speeds, and is a piece of cake to install.

This solid state is great. It dramatically increased performance for my laptop. Highly recommended.

Reduced boot time by 60%. Loads programs much faster. Great performance boost for the money spent.

It wasn't what I wanted, but what I could afford at the time. So far though, I haven't had any major problems and it is working just fine. Yes, I would buy again.

If you have knowledge how to replace hard disk on your computer, this is a good choice. I replaced hard disk on my old MBP (13inch 2010) without any problem. But it is not my first experience of replacing the hard drive and I have required tools like torx screwdriver, external usb interface for bare hard disk. If you are very beginner of this kind of work, you may consider buying all in one box set of above things.

Plugged the SSD in, installed the OS and now the desktop I installed it in is a speed demon.

This product was bought as a replacement for an old 5400 RPM Hard Drive. Works Perfectly.

Bought this for my Dell N5050. Right away I saw improvement. Boot up time take seconds.

This is a great little drive. Made my 3 year old laptop feel like I bought it yesterday. The drive is like any other SSD in construction, but it is thinner to fit into some of the new ultrabooks. This does come with a spacer, to bring its thickness up to a standard sized drive as well. It comes with migration software, but I did not try it as I feel more comfortable with another title I have used in the past.

For the price, this is a no brainer. Wife is now happy that her Asus laptop works again!

I had a Samsung hard drive that was giving me trouble and I ran windows on a wd raptor drive 300gb I wanted one larger but didn't have the money so I settled on this one and I can be happier solid and fast boots into windows smooth as butter. and I only lost about 40 gigs. Maybe some day I can look for a larger capacity drive and this one will be will me for a long time.

Performs just as the expected. Flawlessly and awesome! Would buy another!
