    its a LOW budget laptop

I bought this laptop recently because I was on a budget. It has lagged a little on me on a few web pages and has had an unexpected error when opening my first pre-installed app BUT I have barely used it for a week. I'v heard the fan come on a few time, mostly at start-up. They key board FEELS nice, takes some getting use to because the keys are all together so iv had a tendency to hit other keys It isn't super fast but from my personal experience it isn't super slow. It is all plastic, feels delicate like not much protection? idk how to explain it lol my other laptop was all metal so if it got sat on or anything by accident, it was protected, this is all plastic so It just feels delicate. I came from a tough screen, I think windows 8 is essential for touch screen BUT that is a personal thing lol OHHH the power key has a cool light around it and the NUM LOCK & CAPS LOCK keys have lights too! OVERALL: For the price, its a great basic laptop, which is what I needed (web browsing, emails not much picture/music storage# so its works great for me, no problems #so far) Personally: you cant compare this laptop to ANY Apple product or high end Windows because this is a LOW budget laptop and like many have said you get what you pay for. I just hope Toshiba warranty department is good IF I do have issues I don't want any grief! A few people I know have Toshiba lap tops they have had for years, hope I fit into that category :-)

I bought this laptop as a birthday present for my 8-year-old son. I have owned a Toshiba laptop before and was pleased with its performance, so I chose to go with Toshiba for my son, and this one was at a very reasonable price. It is great for my son's needs (basic gaming, internet, e-mail, word processing) and he likes the Toshiba app features versus the traditional computer Desktop view, but it is extremely slow. Right out of the box before even loading any games or apps it was on the slow side. After loading only a few games, both the basic processing and internet search is agonizingly slow. Very disappointed with this aspect, and if it was my personal computer I would probably send it back, but my son is just happy to have a computer of his own and can handle the wait for everything to load.

The great advantage of this computer over my old one is that it works. It was the cheapest one they had when I had to buy a computer and had no budget for it. It's kind of slow. The keyboard feels cheap and I frequently have to go back to fix errors because sometimes it seems like the keystrokes don't register. The sound quality is pretty tinny. It's got Windows 8, which I don't like (Bring back XP!!). However, it was cheap and it seems to work so for now, it's ok. Reservedly recommend if you need a cheap computer.

I was looking for an inexpensive laptop to keep around the house for surfing the web. Didn't need anything all that powerful. This seemed to fit the bill. It was pre-loaded with a lot of really, really annoying software. Wasn't too hard to remove it, but until I got that stuff off of the computer it was almost impossible to do anything on the web. Also not crazy about the mouse pad or whatever that thing is called. But, I got what I paid for.

I bought this for my mom as she didn't want or need a fancy computer. It seems to do the job for her. She just needed it for emails and internet use. What i don't like about it is the touch pad is pretty much worthless and she had to go get a mouse because it was so jumpy and cheap feeling. I'm not impressed with the screen resolution at all. Text looks pixelated and not us to today's standards. But if you need a super basic cheap computer this should do the trick.

I am having a difficult time learning how to use the product, due to Windows 8. Although I paid for a warranty, I could not use the laptop for nearly a month after purchasing because the password would not work. I had to go to Best Buy, then Microsoft and Toshiba for 3 weeks before being able to reset the password, correctly. In the process, I discovered my warranty only covers hard drive issues, not software, which was not clarified at purchase.

It is a very useful product. However, if you're a super user, it is not for you. It is perfect for those writing a paper or doing regular work. However, it has a tendency to slow down if you're using more applications or have too many browser windows open. It also has a problem with the sleep mode: when you try to get out of sleep mode, you can't. You have to restart

Pros: -Boots up quickly -Lightweight for the size -Built in optical (DVD) drive (a lot of laptops don't include this anymore) Cons: -Windows 8 (don't like this new setup) -Don't like the feel/responsiveness of the touchpad -Touchpad does not have built in scrolling option on the side like some

This isn't a computer made for gaming... But the reason I bought this was only for my aunt and her using it as a browse-the-internet computer. Which it does very well. She can do the regular stuff a Chromebook can do, along with saving and easily accessing files and she can install programs needed for her to do work. It's a pretty good computer for basic needs.

This product is economically made and price is economic as well. It serves well for basic computing and internet needs. The product is fragile and can break easily if twisted or pressed or rough handled. Screws fall out of place after using for 6 months to a year. Handle with care and it will serve you well.

Has tiney sound but other than that is OK. I hate Windoes 8. Things happen that I didn't command. I have to be really careful about having two hands near the mouse pad or else something will happen I didn't request. Probably will erase this before I send it. If not, I was lucky.

I'm still getting used to my new laptop but the few things I'm not crazy about are the numbers on the side, the touchpad is way off to the left and Windows 8. What I do like it the weight (it's very light), the keys are so quiet and the screen is bright and big.

Lot's of apps, and an easy set-up, but difficulty setting up my printer (still haven't worked this out). Also, tried connecting a Samsung tablet but kept getting an error that USB not recognized. Still undecided on if the price was worth the headache...

Overall, its performance is not that great than I expected. Sometimes the screen goes blurry..I considered to return the item, but now giving it another chance. The only reason I'm thinking the product is average is that the price was okay.

Having problems connecting to wifi. Reset and performed windows troubleshooting then works for a few day. Then have to do it all over. Pretty much from the first week. Besides that good value for the price.

This laptop is ok, but it only will let you do the basics. If you plan on watching a lot of video or using it with any high performance programs, I wouldn't recommend this product.

I like the Toshiba brand. I have always had good luck with their products, but I cannot stand Windows 8. It's designed for a touch screen. This computer doesn't have a touch screen.
