No faster than my old Toshiba running windows. Maybe windows 10 is the cure all; but heard that before. Purchase my first MAC very nice so far.

The touchpad can be toggled OFF & ON by using the F5 function key, so if the key is inadvertently pressed it can create the impression that the cursor has frozen. Try pressing the F5 key next time the touchpad seems to be unresponsive.
Regarding the general performance issues, depending on how long you've had this unit it may be that Windows Update has been busy downloading & installing updates for itself. That's often the case on brand new systems, and if so it will tax initial performance until the update process is completed. You may want to run the Windows Update app to see what it's up to, if anything. If it has critical updates to install, I recommend having it complete that process ASAP and reboot when it's finished (even if not required) to see if performance has improved once that process is completed.
We don't recommend letting Windows Update install any "optional" updates since those can overwrite drivers & utilities that are optimized for or by Toshiba. Optional updates can be installed via the Toshiba Service Station app or by visiting support.toshiba.com.

Computer is working, but the touch screen is not available now. Believe me, it was handle with care by two adults. I believe the screen is a very poor quality part of this computer. And it is not available in store. We paid and it was sent to us. We have had another Toshiba laptop and never had a problem. We are very disappointed with this one.

The standard warranty covers all defects in parts & workmanship, and Toshiba also offers a SystemGuard warranty extension option to cover accidental damage.
Please contact Toshiba support at 800-457-7777 to make arrangements for replacing the touchscreen.
