I still use this laptop everyday but wanted a new laptop as I am back in college and wanted something new and nothing compares to my Toshiba for the price point bc it really is perfect and love touch screen 2 in 1 backlit keys, windows 10 upgraded, decent battery life and very fast. Now I need laptop used more stationary with an optical drive but still want to be fast and touchscreen and backlit keys. I may go AMD this time as the i3-i7 7th generation seems to decline from the i7 I have now. But they are getting lighter and more memory! I highly recommend this Laptop though Toshiba makes such great products!

Initially purchased an HP 2-1 with beats but the screen was terrible with faint vertical lines. I didn't notice this in the store but after a google search its a known issue. I knew I wanted another i7 so I went with the Toshiba over the Dell XPS 13. I love the full HD display, processor and the sound is much better than the HP beats. Aesthetically the HP was the winner when I opened the lid but this Toshiba has an amazing screen, lighted keyboard and weighs less. I have had no issues whatsoever with the wireless adapter and the battery life for this size and speed is amazing. Very pleased with this pc!!

The Good: Quick setup and deployment, easy to upgrade memory and to an SSD, lite weight and fairly durable case, very thin and ports are well placed, HDMI output is flawless, audio playback is better than most laptops this thin, I upgraded to 16GB of DDR3-1600 and a Samsung EVO 850 500GB and the laptop screams. The display is bright and very clear, touch screen is very accurate. Not a bunch of bloat ware and the anti-virus program included is not a trial, it is a year so protection doesn't do the dell drop and leave you unprotected and offering to continue the service for a much higher cost that you could obtain the same software from another vendor.
The Not So Good: Opening the laptop can be challenging especially if you are even mildly handicapped, perhaps a small piece that extends a little further out on the top would solve the issue, when using the touch screen the track pad still operates so the laptop sometimes seems possessed making selections and changing pages or closing docs, picking the laptop up with the outside finish is dicey, it is smooth enough to slip out of your hands, again this applies to even mildly handicapped people and can be easily resolved with a couple pieces of rubber grip material on the top and bottom.
The Final Word: Very lite with great battery life, fast with good audio playback and HDMI, screen is bright and touch screen works flawlessly, decent software additions and a real full version one year anti virus program. I really think this deserves 4 and 3/4 stars as the smaller issues can be resolved easily and do not apply to the mainstream users. Our agency will put this as an approved laptop for use so I would recommend this to anyone. Review was written a month after purchase and after fairly heavy use.
P.S. Toshiba PLEASE make windows 10 drivers and an EASY pathway to upgrade.

I bought this for my new job after a weeklong perfect laptop hunt. Im a moderate user - heavy internet explorer, microsoft word, excel, occasional powerpoint, and nightly sim city.
SCREEN - graphics on fleek! Crisp video, touchscreen definitely envy instigating with jealous coworkers (all of them have macs bwahaha), no wheel of death (yes i traded a free work provided mac for this because this is comparatively faster). The touchscreen definitely is the game changer here. I need the keyboards for work but at night playing sim city and just touching the screen instead of dragging a mouse (or trackpad ugh) its just easier. And fact that this can be folded back and function as a giant tablet on the couch or in bed, tech nirvana.
AUDIO - harman kardon delivers quality crisp booms without the shrill static-y treble. You know how when u buy cheap $ 10 earphones? That cheap sound like its scattered glass? This laptop is soooooo not that and im happy. I have a sony vaio (for the love of a big touchscreeeeeeeeeeen yes) and that has bad speaker reviews cuz it really sounds bad. Toshiba is more of a rounded sound than scattered.
PORTS - HDMI port is my deal maker. No more usb-hdmi connector needed. 3 usbs are useful for octopus connections with ipad, phone and external drive/flash drive
KEYBOARD - the fact that i have numbers on the right not just above the letters (yes mac this isnt being petty, this matters) makes it easy when putting in heavy figures on excel.
BATTERY - my first day i lasted 8 hours without charging. Pretty impressive. Charges quick, lasts very long (well its still new but still)
OVERALL - I gave up a macbook air for this, no hate on mac fans, but this one is just more practical for what i need a laptop for. 5th gen i7 for speed, touchscreen as major bonus for ease of use, crisp graphics, pretty good audio for work and leisure, 15" screen, slim sleek sexy body, classic light gold soft metallic, fan isnt that quiet at times but unnoticeable, lightweight enough to hold on my right arm while juggling my work purse on my left, and most importantly priced cheap for all that it has to give. Most laptops like this could go for $1500, that makes this a steal for $800 (when i purchased it a month ago as of this writing.
It was a deadlock between this and the new dell xps13(?) the one that has the touchscreen without the black screen borders but this one is significantly cheaper. Most suggested dell for its reliability in durablity (name) but this delivers at a much lower cost.
Macs may be useful for heavy graphics user artists (so my coworkers say) i personally think its a hype. I love how it looks, how light it feels and how easy it is to synch with other apple devices but at the end of the day, when it comes to performance and delivery, this Toshiba all the way!!!

Great laptop, speed, portibility, battery life are all great. Really like the flip screen and touch screen capabilities. Its everything I was looking for in a laptop. I was worried that the 15.6 inch screen size would be cumbersome and bulky but the slim design and light weight are great.

I first bought the i5 model of this laptop at $799 only to find out this laptop would be on sale for the same price a week later. I did an exchange and got this computer instead. Thanks, BestBuy for excellent service. This computer is great if your uses are internet browsing, powerpoints and documents, music, video streaming, or any combination of those listed. The i7 processor can even handle more intense work such as spreadsheets, video editing, music making, and a huge combination of programs working at once. I had a Sony Vaio with an i3 processor and that was extremely slow and had trouble loading things after its 3rd year of use. I bought this computer after my laptop started to putter out after 5 years and I enjoy it alot. The 2 in 1 design is more of a gimmick and I won't use it as much but I will use it a few times such as when watching movies and tv shows. The storage is spacious enough for many uses and the ram can hold up a lot. The keyboard is backlit which is a plus and the screen is IPS ( meaning to washing out or darkening of colors when looking at an angle). Touchscreen is also cool. Windows 8.1 is a bit weird for me coming from Windows 7 but after a day, i recognized where most things are and it was smooth sailing.

This computer has a lot going for it: I7 Broadwell, 1080 display, back-lit keyboard, responsive touchscreen, 8 GB RAM, battery life over 5 hours.
I don't like that the RAM and battery cannot be replaced by the owner but I knew that going in.
My main complaint is that the display may not retain the position you place it at: at certain angles the monitor will collapse into a horizontal position. I returned the first laptop due to this after a talk w/ Toshiba support. The replacement had more 'spine' to it but after a month or so, it has a tendency to collapse from certain angles also. This seems to be a flaw in this 2-in-1 - I checked other Toshiba 2-in-1s at the BB store and they did not have this problem. At a price of $699 I would recommend this laptop but above that find another model.

The specs of this unit defied the sale price, but the prior reviews of the product were good, so I gave it a shot. I have only had it for a month, but I am pleased with the performance. I haven't yet had to use it in any of its convertible modes, but as a normal use laptop its great. The tough screen is cool, but given that I use it as and extended screen setup, I don't really maximize that. The overall screen size is in the desktop replacement range, so if you are looking for a small and light PC, go smaller, but you will miss some of the features. I enter a bunch of numbers, so having a full number pad is a blessing. If I were traveling with this unit, I might rethink that though.
In all I am very satisfied with the purchase!

This is only the second laptop I've ever owned, for the price it does exactly what it's supposed to! Multitasking on this is impeccable, never struggles to have multiple programs at once, no lag experienced at all! 1TB storage is more than enough for all the music and movies I have on this. Startup time is pretty fast, backlit keyboards is a great touch, helps a lot when using it in dark places. Harmon Kardon speakers on here are phenomenal! Full HD screen is beautiful, mouse pad is pretty good, better than most laptops, very responsive, a little touchy. I don't really use the touchscreen, fingerprints bother me too much but for the most part it's extremely responsive and last but not least it's a very attractive laptop, build quality and color go hand in hand.

Great laptop for just about anything! Speed for multitasking, responsive touchscreen, awesome graphics and clarity, amazing battery life, and tons of memory - a great combination! A bit large to use as a tablet, but presentation mode is pretty cool and handy for long road trips! Don't mind Windows 8 at all, but looking forward to how Windows 10 will work!

I am very happy with my Toshiba Satellite Radius laptop. I love how light it is, and the touchscreen is so fun to use. The screen definition and sound are fantastic. Excellent value for what I spent.
2 small complaints that don't detract much from the overall experience:
- I use a USB mouse because the touchpad is not that great - it tends to get triggered when I'm typing, and the buttons are hard to click.
- One of the USB ports is right next to the power cord plug-in site, making it hard to use the port when the computer is plugged in.

Overall, this has been a good laptop. It is our third Toshiba, the others were great for our needs (mostly, just your basic web surfing) and we never had any problems, so we decided to stick with Toshiba.
Pros - The touchscreen is great! This was one of our main reasons for getting this laptop and it has worked flawlessly and is very convenient. The ability to rotate the screen 360 degrees and basically convert it to a large tablet is nice also, although, to this point I haven't really used this feature as much as I thought I would. The sound seems to be improved from the previous Toshiba laptops.
Cons - As far as the laptop hardware, there are a couple things which have changed which are a little annoying. The charger slot has moved to the back left side as opposed to the back right on previous Toshiba laptops. The power button is no longer located on top of the keyboard, it is on the side and is tough to locate until you get used to it. Plus, screen doesn't automatically turn on when you open the laptop, so you must locate the button each time you use the laptop. Other reviews noted these differences also. I won't go on forever about these cons because I think they are minor annoyances, mostly only annoying because they are different and they really effect daily use very little. The rest of the annoyances I believe stem from Windows 8. Like most, I'm not a fan of this version of Windows. Also, this laptop has an i7 processor and 8GB memory, yet it doesn't seem to be any quicker out of the box than our older Toshiba laptop which is an i3 with 6GB. It often seems bogged down, particularly the first 10-15 minutes after powering up. I am definitely an amateur as far as computer knowledge and I know there are ways I can improve this, but I didn't expect to have to do much with a brand new laptop to see improved performance over our old one. At this point I'm blaming it on the number of different programs/apps that come installed on the laptop.
Overall, we are happy with the purchase and would recommend it. It's just not a slam dunk 5 star purchase.

Waffled a lot before I bought this, did a lot of research. Previously had a Toshiba Portege, which I loved, but I was having problems with it (it's about 3 yrs old, and has been all over the place). It would need to be sent out for repairs, and I couldn't afford to be w/o a computer, so I did research and ended up with this one. I feel like it was a good buy for the money (I got it $150 off on sale, which was nice). There are a few things that I don't love. The battery life isn't what it says -- which is unusual for Toshiba. My last 3 laptops have been Toshibas, and I've always been pleased. My Portege had an advertised battery life of 7 hours, and it lived up to its promise. Three years after purchase, the battery life is still more than any other computer I've ever had. When this was advertised @ 10 hours, I knew that it many variables would affect that, and realized 10 hours was probably unlikely, but I was expecting about 8. I get about 5. I got less initially, but found out my Bluetooth was on (I hadn't turned it on, so I didn't know). Once that was turned off, the battery life improved significantly, but nothing near what the information says. I was disappointed in that. Next, I wish it was lighter -- got used to the Portege, I guess, but I knew the weight going in. I wanted a laptop and not an ultrabook. This is light compared to other laptops, came with a fast processor, a lot of memory and so I went with it. The weight distribution is odd. The bulk of the keyboard, including the touchpad, is left of center, with the numbers pad to the right. As a result, when typing, weight is left of center, causing the right side to raise. The edge is kind of sharp, and presses into my right wrist. It's rather uncomfortable after working a while. Now for the good: It's fast, the screen looks good, it's sturdy, and I have more or less adjusted to Windows 8.1. I'm not a particularly tech-y person. I know the basics. I searched on what I was looking for in a computer, and this one repeatedly popped up. I read the reviews, which were generally strong (with some exceptions that didn't worry me too much). There was one that really influenced me -- I don't remember the name of the person, but he gave the pros and cons very well, and he was in the computer field (if he wasn't really, he sure talked a good game!) I'm not a gamer, but I do frequently have a lot of windows open and lots of stuff going on. On this computer, I have no problems. It doesn't seem to slow down at all. I had agonized over purchasing a new laptop -- needed one, but didn't really want to buy one. I'm glad I finally pulled the trigger. I have peace of mind. Despite a few little things that I wish were just a little different, I really have come to love this computer. Work is MUCH easier! Oh, I just went to shift it on my lap, and I was reminded of a slight design flaw -- the location of the power button! It is on the side, in the middle, so if you need to lift or reposition your laptop, it puts it to sleep or turns it off. I can't quite give this 5 stars, due to the battery and a few other things, but if I could give it a 4.75, I would. I am very satisfied with it, and I most definitely would recommend it. And, since I'm no longer spending so much time and energy debating and agonizing over purchasing a laptop, I'm getting more done!

I bought this laptop to replace an old Gateway. I've had it about a month and really love it! This is my first experience using Windows 8.1, but after a little research and some trial and error, it's pretty intuitive. I added an external DVD player because some of my older programs came on discs. Had no problem with older programs running on this laptop. It's light weight, has a long battery life, great screen and is really fast. So far, I love it...no problems!

We recently purchased to be a desktop replacement but also wanted the versatility of a 2 in 1. This device so far has met that need. With enough memory and processor speed to handle typical business and pleasure demands.
The screen resolution, or maybe it is simply the weird Toshiba font style, is not the most visually pleasing. The keyboard is just OK and I would prefer the backlight of the keyboard stay on rather than cut out after a few seconds. The later may be a setting I can control, but I haven't looked to change it.
Overall I believe this was a great purchase for the price, I am not sure if the HP (with better resolution would have been better, butt his was cheaper on sale and had more HD space.
