Purchased this laptop after I stepped on my Sony VAIO it and used tape to hold up the screen. The Toshiba - Satellite Radius is fast, and you will get used to Windows 8.1. I love the 360 flip design and have been looking for something like this for a long time. The most important features for me were the 10 key (data entry) and battery life. I've had the computer not plugged in for 3 days (in use in the evening and sleep mode while at work) with no problems. I haven't really used the touchscreen too much but paying an extra 100 dollars compared to the lower priced competition to have the option was worth it. 3 weeks since purchase.

I was looking for a fast machine with a 1080p screen. Thin. Light. The only thing I wish it had was an SSD instead of a hard drive. My eyes are getting bad and I can read this screen no problem.

I also had the 12GB 256 GB-SSD version of this laptop and opted to keep the 8GB 1TB HHD one as I needed more raw storage for large image files. I use this laptop for business. The screen is sharp, colors vivid; maybe a bump in brightness would be worthwhile, then again, brightness drains battery. That said, battery life is okay...hard to tell in that I use Autocad, Revit, and Photoshop (memory hog programs) that may do more to shorten battery life. Decent weight...not too heavy for a 15.6 sized laptop. I had a Surface Pro 3 but needed the larger screen size. The Core i7 I think is worthwhile too.

    Good computer- faulty keyboard?

Windows 7 with a touchscreen is MUCH better than the Windows 7 without. So I guess the touchscreen adds value to it. Overall the computer has been fine except for the keyboard that has certain keys that have just stopped working... the r, y, lots of numbers and symbols. I read a few other reviews about people with the same problem AFTER I bought the computer. (I am typing this with a USB external keyboard). Sometimes it seems as though the screen is a bit to heavy and it pulls itself flat (its more like a tablet with huge keyboard attached than a laptop). The screen is nice and very clean and is very sensitive to the touch. When making it into a tablet, the keyboard only sometimes turns off.... so you cant really have it on your lap or any soft surface without random buttons and keys messing things up. Best Buy told me to bring the computer into the store and have Geek Squad take a look, that was a very nice offer BUT I am currently in Central America for a few months traveling (hence getting a NEW computer that is lighter for traveling) so that's not really an option for me now. Overall I would rate this as an average fair computer that does what it is advertised to do.

Our Acer laptop wasn't holding a charge so we chose a Toshiba satellite which we had before. It is very nice and versatile but it took some time to get comfortable with Windows 8.1 then Windows 10. The only problem problem I have with it is the slowness loading from the internet. Touch screen is nice as is the versatility of the screen.

I spent a lot of time looking and this easily looks like the best deal for a laptop. You could get 3 of these for the price of one MacBook. It has the new i7 Broadwell processor so it is powerful, but it is also dead quiet and SUPER light. You can easily pick it up with one hand. Also the power brick is about half the size of a candy bar which I like a lot. The hard drive is not SSD and is only 5400 RPMs so be aware of that. I am upgrading it to a 1 TB SSD so it doesn't matter to me, but if you are n't upgrading it, know that. It also only has 8GB of RAM, but you can upgrade to 16GB which I am going to do also. The battery is permanent and there is no quick access door on the bottom to add RAM, etc. However, those are the only "bad" things I have to say about this computer. The fact that it is a touchscreen and can be a tablet and go into other positions too is just icing on the cake. This is my first Toshiba computer, but in my opinion is easiest the best laptop $800 can get you. It is NOT a gaming laptop but I am sure it could play most on low-medium settings, but for everyday stuff it is awesome.

I have owned HP's and Toshiba's, I needs something I can carry with me to provide instant photo's to my clients after a photo shoot. The screen on this Toshiba beat's out all others, clear, crisp and fabulous color. Lightweight, fast, I can go on and on, I love it! I must say, I did purchase a Macbook first, I returned it for the Toshiba!

Great machine, I guess I hoped it might be a little faster, but I blame the bloated windows. Will they ever figure out how to sleep the operating system correctly? Only minor issue is a fan that turns on and off quite frequently. Otherwise, I like the touchscreen more than I expected to, and while I don't switch it to tablet mode very often, it's handy when I do. Display definitely needs to be viewed straight-on as from an angle (when I walk back to it) it's rather dark.

The touch screen isn't the most responsive on gesture movements, like swiping to move from one screen to another, but it works quite succinctly for clicking on the screen. I use it to word process and watch movies. With a movies preloaded on my computer, I easily watched 5 hours of movies on a flight across the country and still had battery life. When set up like a tablet, the system is still to heavy to hold up with just your hands for a long period of time, but the option to tent the computer and watch movies that way was great.

My girlfriend found herself in dire need of a new laptop in short notice, and this PC so far has been excellent. Smooth enough to do everything short of graphically-intensive work, it's a great mid-level PC for work on the go. Be sure to keep an eye out for a sale though - it can be had for far less than the "normal" price on the regular.

I really like the versatile machine. You can do so may things with it. Not sure if i would use a tablet alot, as you cannot hold with one hand, but it have read with it at home. Display is nice but not an Apple, but i didn't buy an Apple. Battery is great. no major power issue, Sound is fine and i like the HDMI port. After 1 month no major complaints. FYI, its thinner than past laptops but it not light.

The Toshiba Satellite Radius 15.6" TouchScreen Laptop is proving to be a great home computer with excellent graphics and versatility as a laptop and tablet. With the recent upgrade to Windows 10 this laptop is slowly replacing our aging HP Pavilion 17" laptop and 10.1" Samsung Tab 2 tablet. With a light weight form factor, ability to transform from laptop to tablet, and excellent battery life, the Toshiba Satellite Radius 15.6" TouchScreen Laptop is definitely keeping up with our family busy lifestyle. The Toshiba Satellite Radius 15.6" TouchScreen Laptop is allowing this family to maintain one computer operating platform for school work and home budgeting/scheduling. The only minor issue with this laptop is the slightly slower bootup time from not having an solid state drive (SSD).

Our old dell laptop wasn't what it used to be. When I loaded windows 8, it bogged down and slowed down more and more. I started looking for something faster, had more memory and had a touch screen (I.e., a 2 in 1 laptop). I looked at dozens of the latest 2-in-1's (too small, keyboard too little without a number pad, too expensively, not highly rated, etc...). Saw the Toshiba satellite 2-in-1 at Best Buy and it met all my criteria. Very pleased with the speed, stylish design, feel, size and weight. Purchased the warranty plan because it is a new 2-in-1 technology and because it will be carried around and used as a touch pad, I was concerned with dropping or damaging the unit. Overall, very satisfied.

I went to Best Buy and told the sales person I needed a new laptop with 1 TB hard drive and I liked the number keypad on the side and if it had touch screen, that would be nice. He showed me the Toshiba Satellite Radius and I was sold. When I brought it home and started it up, I was amazed how much speed it had and the touch screen was very nice. I also like the fact that the screen can fold in different ways to accommodate anything I want to show.

Great all round laptop/tablet... Plenty of speed from the I7 processor, plenty of storage on the 1TB hard-drive, and a super clear touch-screen. Not to mention the back-lit full keyboard and 1200ac wireless connectivity. I shopped around (a lot) and this deal can't be beat; a Best Buy exclusive! One last item, a free upgrade to Windows 10, if you're interested...

This is my first laptop. I have always been a desktop/tower user. My lifestyle and job description has changed and as a result, I am on the go quite a bit. Having my computer with me when I am on site with clients or watching my granddaughter out of town is a great plus. I used to use my iPad and LogMeIn to accomplish tasks on occasion in the past. I am an accountant and pretty much live on the computer at work and then additional hours at home. This new laptop has been the answer. It is fast, responsive, great screen resolution for viewing awesome pictures, great keyboard shortcut functions. I have attached it to a Toshiba DynaDock on my desk. I have a full keyboard, large monitor and scanner connected to the dock so it ends up operating like a desktop. I can unplug it and walk away without unplugging all peripherals. I love the many modes that this laptop accommodates. Flip it around and it works like a tablet. I can take my computer to the couch using the Wi-Fi built in. Only negative is the fact that I had to buy an external drive for DVD/CD/Blu-Ray play or record. It came with Windows 8.1, upgraded to 10 when it was released and totally love it. 10 fixed everything I hated about 8.1.. I had Vista at home and 7 at the office, transition between computers has been fine.

I bought this laptop for home use and for homework. So far it has been great for me, has lot's of multitasking power and hasn't bogged down no matter how many things i'm doing or how many windows are open. Windows 8.1 is a little different, but once you get it set to your liking it's really pretty cool. It streams movies fast and I haven't had any trouble with the Wi-Fi. A little scary not having an optical drive or an ethernet connection, but I haven't had a problem yet, and a USB optical drive is really cheap these days. Pretty cool when it's in Tablet mode because it's huge compared to a standard tablet and it's very lightweight and portable.
