Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the ease of use and strong performance of the 2-Port Gigabit Powerline Starter Kit, with many praising its simple setup and reliable wired connection for online gaming and streaming. However, some users noted that signal strength can degrade over distance and that the adapters are large, potentially blocking other outlets. The product's effectiveness appears to vary, with some experiencing long-term reliability issues.

Terrible product! I hust read another review that says that voices my same complaints. Terrible speeds (1/10th of my Wi-Fi speeds) and blocks the second outlet so I can’t use it! DO NOT BUY!

      Hi,

Thank you for your review. Please bear in mind that Powerline connectivity and data transfer rates will vary due to network environment variables including: distance between adapters, network traffic, noise on electrical wires, building material and construction, quality of electrical installation and other adverse conditions.

First, please ensure both Powerline adapters are plugged directly into wall outlets - no surge protectors or power strips, as these will directly interfere with the connection. We recommend following the suggestions outlined in FAQ 409 on our official website: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/409/

If you'd like assistance with any of these steps, please reach out to our free support team using any of the resources included with the product, or from our official website, and we'll gladly have a Support Agent follow up with you directly.

      Thank you,
      TP-Link Support tplink

    Could not connect

I bought this powerline adapter to try and get a better connection on the other side of the house. Four times I attempted to set it up, following the instruction manual, and each time the device would light up indicating it was paired with my router. However, my desktop could never connect even with ethernet cable! Returned it for a credit and just bought another router.

      Hi Trobb,

Thank you for your review. Please bear in mind the TL-PA9020P Kit is designed to provide convenient, flexible Ethernet expansion connectivity within your home. It is not designed for Wi-Fi connectivity. If you encountered difficulty establishing a Powerline network using the adapters, please first ensure both adapters are plugged directly into wall outlets (no power strips or surge protectors - these will directly interfere with the connection).

We're sorry to hear you decided to return the Powerline Kit - we would've appreciated the opportunity to help address your concerns. For future reference, please feel free to e-mail [email protected] and we'll gladly assist.

      Thank you,
      TP-Link Support tplink

Will try to keep this short and sweet. This is yet another great addition to the TP-Link product line. I always seem to have an area of the house that acts a little funky when it comes to coverage and adding this to my existing network set up helped bridge that gap. Set up was as easy as advertised. Plug them in, pair them up, and then connect with the Ethernet cable. Overall network speed was maintained across the power line. In addition, it's nice that you don't lose both plugs because the product has the front face plug to leverage. Disclaimer: Submitted as part of a free sample program
