Works great for what I need! I seem to be getting faster speeds than advertised, which is a bonus. I only use internet for email, streaming TV, and general internet purposes (no gaming). 1750 sq ft house and i get solid signal everywhere. Works for me!

Great upgrade router for every day user

I installed this at my in-laws house to upgrade their old D-Link router that had poor range to this one. Install: 5 stars The installation was super easy and straight-forward. A quick start guide is included with 5 steps. Basically turn off your modem, disconnect old router, connect new router, turn on modem and wait 2 minutes to startup, then turn on router (press on/off switch). Then connect to the router (wired or wirelessly) and go through the setup. I was able to replicate the previous wireless names/passwords and an all the devices in the house connected to this new router seamlessly. No need to re-enter passwords for the most part. Only one login is allowed into the administration page, so if you don't log out of the one you setup on, you won't be able to get in. I had to switch my laptop back to the original network (wired instead of wireless) and logout before I could access it from the wireless network. Operation: The range on this router is far superior to the previous wireless router. Full signal strength to areas where I was only able to get 1-2 bars before. The house isn't very big, but has a lot of walls, that reduced the strength. The 2.4Ghz wireless worked well for all the devices I tested. Only issue I had was a Surface Pro 4 (Windows 10) that recognized the wireless network as 2nd of the same name so had it listed twice, which was confusing. Had to make it forget the previous network. The 5Ghz wireless worked for most of my devices since it was the first time they were seeing it. The only issue I had was a work laptop, Lenovo T460s (Windows 10 Pro) that wouldn't connect to the 5Ghz network for some reason. Finally gave up and switched it to the 2.4Ghz to connect. Good thing there's two wireless networks. Extra features: There are Guest wireless networks (2.4 & 5Ghz) available if you want, but it is off by default. There is a USB port for network storage or printer. To get the printer to work, you need to download something from the TP-Link support site, to make it work, so I didn't try it. Standard router features are available (port forwarding, UPnP, etc) There is a VPN option available too which could be helpful for some. Remote management also is an option. The LED lights on the router can be turned off as well if you want it to run dark. This is not a top of the line router (those cost 2-3 times more), but for the price, an excellent choice. It would give it a 4 star overall rating if comparing to more expensive routers, but at this price, probably one of the best you can get. Submitted as part of a free sample program

    Issues Using With My Phones

The router was so easy to set up and I was very pleased with the phone ap. Despite this I had some major issues and had to return it. Every time I tried to connect my cell phones to wifi, the router would drop internet to all the devices for about 1-2 minutes. Also it would just cut out for periods of time out of the blue for no reason. Beyond that issue I had purchased this to replace a Netgear unit that was first manufactured 8 or 9 years ago. My internet was always reliable with that unit and I've plugged it back in when I returned the TP-Link router back to Best Buy and I again have reliable wifi. I did contact tech support to see if they could assist me in getting things set up. What they were asking me to do was entirely to technical and complicated and honestly, with all the reliability problems I had, it wasn't worth the struggle.

    Inexpensive AC Router

The AC1350/C59 is a no frills easy setup wireless router. The AC1350 is a simple product, this is not for the high-end user. This product if for the casual user that needs Wi-Fi at a low cost. The AC1350 is a small home router, that has some nice features and includes a USB2.0 port for backups, filesharing or a print server. The AC1350 has guest networks, good speed and some limited parental controls. The wired switch is not gigabit, but if you’re using mainly Wi-Fi this will be plenty fast. The setup is pretty straight forward plug it in and connect to it via Wi-Fi, the SSID and the initial password are printed on the bottom of the unit. Connect to the Wi-Fi and visit http://tplinkwifi.net/ or http://192.168.0.1 in your browser. Follow the onscreen instructions and you’re done. Just make sure you pick good strong passwords. The AC speeds with this router are pretty fast. The USB ports is a nice touch too, I hooked up an external hard drive to it so I could back up some critical files. It’s simply a nice option to have. This router has tons of great software like OpenVPN. If you don’t like the software it comes with and want to make your own, this works great with installing OpenWRT
