    unstable internet connection

Lost internet connection about a dozen times over several weeks. Did many reboots. Dealt with TP-Link customer service four times. Their thoughts and words got lost in the English translation of what they were meaning to say to me on how to try to troubleshoot the problem on my end on a couple of those occassions. Without a long explanation on that I was finally able to figure out what they were trying to tell me after several attempts per phone call. After the last call to their customer service they are supposed to ship me a new unit. We'll see how that goes. I'm not feeling confident even if they send me a replacement quickly. I found out a friend had Best Buy come to their house and install a new computer with this very same model of router. The tech said that he could not get on the internet because the router was defective. I want to end this on a positive note for now and say, when the router worked it was faster and had a better range than my old one.

This thing is the best router I've ever had. I was having issues connecting to the WIFI at the far end of the house away from the router so I bought this new router. I now get the same #s on the speedtest from across the house! No issues at all after owning this for 2 months.

Good coverage and dual bands basically give you two routers. Had a question and the help desk called within 10 minutes of my request.

Easy to set up. Best was we could turn off SMB1 service, an unsafe protocol in Windows 10, with this new router. On our old TP Link, we had to enable this service to access the WD drive connected to the router. We were also able to set up the Plex Service as a virtual server under NAT forwarding on the new router. It is more stable than the UPnP Nat Forwarding set up on the old router. All in all this new one is better. Only negative is the USB port on this new one is USB 2 rather than 3.

Works well so far, I got it because it supports Open Wrt firmware, but It works fine with the stock firmware so I didn't have to replace it yet. The reason why it works good is because it uses Qualcom chipset, while most other Tp-Link models use Broadcom chipset. I got it on sale for 60 usd, but if I had to pay the regular 80 I would rather go for Tp-Link AX1800 or similar.

WiFi Router - Good but not Great!

I was somewhat disappointed with this purchase as I had a very old Netgear, and because of a notice that many Netgear Routers were subject to some hacking, and I rec'd a personal email as well that my model was one of them, so I decided it was time to get a new Router, unfortunately, this TP-Link Archer AC1750 is not as good as the old Netgear I had! Don't get me wrong, it works, yet it seems slower than what I had which was at least 7 years old. It does the job, but you have to have patience if you want speed.

    Solid basic WiFi router/access point

Solid router/access point for basic (not super-fast) internet service, with SOME more advanced control options in the factory OS. Replaced my Verizon Quantum router with no problem for 200 mbps FIOS service. I also bought a range extender from TP-Link, and with a firmware upgrade the two devices now mesh into one seamless WiFi network - I no longer need to worry about changing device connections when I am in the backyard.
