    Antenna

The setup wasn’t too bad, but TWO of the antennae will not hold their position easily. Despite tightening them properly into the router, they are loose and flip around! Not good. I cannot position them where I want them to be because of this. I would not recommend this router because of this. This is too much money to have crappy antennae.

    Meets expectations

Doubled 2.4G performance and provided 5G as a bonus for me as compared to my previous Netgear router. Currently I am maxed out at my Cable company's bandwidth 30M which I pay for, so could not test it to its limits. Strong signal at all the corners of a 4800 sq feet house including basement. A similar ARRIS router which comes with a cable modem did not provide an as strong 2.4G and 5G signal at the farthest points. Trouble free operation for many weeks since installed without requiring reboots or disconnects. May further elaborate when I utilize other functionality like USB etc later. Bought this after lots of professional reviews and comparisons with competitors.

    Connection quality, Range

This router is excellent! It’s top feature is QoS (Quality of Service) which makes it a smart router, and it knows what type of device is connected to it. With that capability, it can give the right amount of bandwidth or give priority to streaming or gaming devices. It’s all laid out well in the app, and on that note, the app is wonderful to use and you can control your network from anywhere. It also has range boost with beam forming so it can boost signal to a device that is technically out of range. Best of all, is that it actually works as claimed. I’m actually pretty blown away by this router, it has so many high end router features at technically a mid tier price point. It’s covers over 40 devices across my 2400 sqft two story home, and I couldn’t be happier.

It’s not a plug n play. You need a computer to set it up. Mine was defective. I called there customer support, they were able to answer my questions but weren’t much for support about why some features wouldn’t work.

Simple to use and set up

    Pros mentioned:
    Ease of use, Set up

Bought this to replace the router capabilities of my old Moto Surfboard cable modem and am not disappointed. Setup out of the box is easy and management is done through the Tether app on your phone. After an initial firmware update I have had no problems with dropped signal or coverage area, even out in my garage where I never could connect before. Speeds are right where you should expect on -ac and -n devices. But my favorite feature of the Archer 2300 is the ability to view and prioritize traffic to individual devices in Tether. It's a simple and clean UI and even though there are plenty of other networking devices that let you do that, it's really easy to find and use once it's set up, and I use it permanently for streaming on a Chromecast Ultra as well as toggling on and off for large downloads. All in all a vast improvement so far over any wireless gateway I've ever used.

Just got it yesterday and connected it today and thats's it. Getting internet was that simple. Its blazing fast and one of the fastest routers used thus far. One important thing, it's fully compatible with Fios. So saved some real bucks as Fios recently raised there router rental. Anyone looking for real great speeds, just go for this router. Every penny is worth for this router.

Great coverage. Easily handles many devices.

    Pros mentioned:
    Range, Speed

The TP-LINK Archer C2300 is solidly built with some heft to it. I like the conservative design that TP-LINK went with including the non-obtrusive LED indicators. The buttons and lights are easy to read and understand. Setup was hassle-free as I've come to expect from TP-LINK products as of late. I like the added feature of being able to use the TP-Link Tether app for managing the router outside of a web browser. This, like other newer Archer routers, has eliminated the need for me to use a range extender to reach the opposite side of my house from where the router is positioned. The 2.4GHz signal reaches this area, which was a dead zone when using other routers, and provides fast and reliable connections. My house has many wireless devices and I've noticed no decrease in speed once all devices were switched over to this router. The adeptness with which it handles so many devices is probably due to the 1.8 GHz dual-core 64-bit CPU along with the dual co-processors (1 for each band). The router includes two USB ports (1 USB3.0 and 1 USB2.0) for sharing files and/or printers. I connected a USB drive to the router for testing purposes and had decent read and write speeds (averaging about 100 Mbps). The one complaint I've had with many of the recent TP-Link routers was the lack of an "Access Point" setting. I am happy to report they've finally remedied this and it is now an option in this router. Submitted as part of a free sample program.
